Abstract:The waterborne metallic coating which can be used on automobile was prepared by using hydroxyl acrylic composite dispersion as film-former,non-floating-type waterborne aluminum powder and additives.The selections of resin,waterborne aluminum powder,additives,coalescent and construction technology were discussed.The results show that the introduction of acrylate emulsion with core/shell structure into coatings can reduce the particle sedimentation and improve the stability and performance of the coatings.The metallic coatings with good workability and it can meet to the demands described in contract.

Abstract:China has achieved great progress in building paint,including the development of paint construction tools such as the increase of roller variety,development of spraying machine,application of auxiliary construction equipment,the development of painting construction technologies such as those of Aluminum plastics decorative film and multi-coat metal-glossy paint,renovation and re-painting of old exterior wall as well as construction of functional building paint etc.Analysis is made on the existing problems in the construction of building paint which have affected the application of building paint,in particular,exterior wall paint in China,and restrained its development.

Abstract:The application of waterborne industrial paint used for construction machinery paint production was introduced in this paper,and the performance was contrasted with solvent based paint,the results showed that waterborne paint can meet the construction machinery coatings requirements without change the existing coating production line,and the modification methods were proposed according to the problems and shortcomings.

Abstract:Compared with primer, various performance of free primer (such as, appearance performance, hardness, adhesive force, water resistance, acid & alkali resistance, oil resistance, salt mist resistance, weathering resistance) were investigated by means of experiments. The qualities of free primer are no obviously charged for the surface of existing enclosure, sill and intermediate pillar. The feasibility of innovation, lower cost and higher efficiency of primer-free painting technology for automobile interior surface were discussed in this study. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:The composition of water - borne varnish paint special for wood surface was studied. Selecting water - borne polyurethane resin, acrylic resin and acrylic modified polyurethane resin as the film -forming, the film formation mechanism of resins and the influence of structure on the film forming properties were explored to make sure several resins had good film - forming effect and lower cost. The influences of the agents＇ type and amount on the system, such as wet- ting agent, coalescing agent, defoamers and thickening agent were discussed. At last, excellent comprehensive perfor- mengce was acquired, whose performance accorded with and part better than the performance requirements of GB/T 23999 - 2009 （ Class B） GB.

Abstract:In order to produce water-based anticorrosive coatings with excellent corrosion resistance and bearing capacity, it can be applied to water-based epoxy antirust primers that produce excellent corrosion resistance on offshore oil or plant substrates. A water-based epoxy zinc rich antirust primer was prepared with two-component waterborne coating polysulfone resin and curing agent as film-forming materials, zinc oxide powder as anti-corrosion pigment, organic bentonite and fumed silica as precipitant, wetting agent, silane coupling agent and other additives. Based on the main technical indexes of water resistance, salt water resistance, impact resistance and air drying time, the effects of various proportions of polysulfone resin and curing agent on the quality of paint film were deeply studied; And the effects of different amounts of matrix wetting agent and silane coupling agent on the properties of the membrane.

Abstract:The present invention relates to the improvement of a decorative coating, in particular to a double-component water-based coating coated on the body of a railway vehicle. The double-component water-based coating is composed of double-component water-based epoxy primer, middle double-component water-based acrylic polyurethane coating and top double-component water-based acrylic polyurethane coating. The double-component water-based coating, which is characterized by non-inflammability, non-toxicity, no environment pollution, energy saving, etc., is most suitably coated on the outer surfaces of various vehicles such as trains, automobiles and planes. The formed coating film has high mechanical property, and each property is close to or reaches the level of the solvent-based double-component coating. Being solidified under the normal temperature, the double-component water-based coating has excellent water-resisting property, solvent-resisting property and chemical agent-resisting property. The double-component water-based coating is characterized by strong decorative effect and simple and convenient construction.

Abstract:A kind of waterborne anti-corrosive organic zinc-rich primer is formulated,with waterborne acrylic resin as the main film-former,compounded with spherical zinc and flake zinc powders.The factors which had influences on the anti-corrosive performance of zinc-rich primer were analyzed.The results showed that when emulsion A as the main film-former,spherical zinc 2#(800 mesh) with the ratio of flake zinc I as 3∶2,pigment 6%and PVC 50%～55%,the comprehensive performances is the best.

Abstract:It is highly vital in automotive body, high-speed rail overhead line parts, and water distribution systems to use hot-dip galvanized steel (HDGS) coatings for efficiency and ease of synthesis. Various novel coating systems could surpass the technical restrictions of traditional anticorrosion techniques. Because of this, inorganic or organic coating systems must be chosen accurately and suitably. Meanwhile, these coating systems should be evaluated in accordance with their unique material characteristics and synergistic electrochemical parameters. From this view, we summarize an overview of recent developments of anticorrosive coating systems research for HDGS. First, we demonstrate the traditional protective coatings to match the use of HDGS. Likewise, emerging and state-of-the-art protective coatings are summarized. Then, methods for the assessment criteria of traditional and emerging protective coatings are displayed and illustrated through electrochemical analysis. For the conclusion, we make a proposal about the future developments of protective coating systems for HDGS.
Using an alternatives assessment framework to evaluate waterborne versus solventborne basecoats used in automotive refinishing

Abstract:We evaluated two types of automotive basecoats used in automotive refinishing (i.e., in auto body shops): waterborne and solventborne. The primary tool we used for this evaluation was the Alternatives Assessment Guide (version 1.0) developed by the Interstate Chemicals Clearinghouse (IC2). The term "solventborne," as used in this article, refers to products that contain relatively high concentrations of volatile organic compounds (referred to as "high-volatile organic compound [VOC] basecoats" in the industry). These products are distinct from the "low-VOC" solventborne products used widely in California and elsewhere. From a health and environmental hazard perspective, our evaluation found that waterborne basecoats contained fewer hazardous ingredients and at lower concentrations than their solventborne counterparts. Automotive painters who spray-painted vehicles with waterborne products experienced significantly lower exposures to several harmful solvents. Waterborne products are readily available and offer advantages with regard to social impacts. Some of these advantages include lower worker and community exposure to VOCs, reduced VOC release and smog formation, and reduced potential for generation of and exposure to hazardous waste. Based on our assessment in auto body shops, we consider waterborne basecoats to be safer alternatives from both a human health and environmental perspective. Abstract:Using waterborne acrylic resin as main film-forming material,hollow glass bead as heat-insulating pigments,a kind of waterborne acrylic anticorrosion and heat-insulating paint was formulated by adding anticorrosive pigments.The paints were analyzed by the test of routine properties,heat-insulating ability,electrochemical technology,and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The optimal PVC of this paint was decided as 30% and the optimal amount of hollow glass bead is 8%.
