Abstract:Ecological discourse analysis, as an emerging discipline, aims to reveal the role of language in ecology. The transitivity system serves as a theoretical foundation, which helps to explore the ecological ideas implied in ecological discourse. William Wordsworth, a British Romantic poet, is famous for his poetry depicting natural scenery. I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is a representative work of his nature poems. Based on the transitivity system of systemic functional linguistics, this paper conducts a deep analysis of Wordsworth's nature poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud from the perspective of ecological discourse analysis, exploring the basic path of the poet's expression of his ecological view through language. On the one hand, the poet regards the relationship between humans and all things in nature as a harmonious and equal dialogue partnership. He wants to advocate respect for nature, awe of nature, and oppose anthropocentrism, promoting the ecological idea of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, which reflects his positive ecological view. On the other hand, by studying Wordsworth's ecological ideas, readers can be guided to establish a healthy ecological view, enhance their sense of ecological responsibility, and promote people's love for nature and friendship with nature.

Abstract:John Keats,Wordsworth’s contemporary romantic poet,believes that Wordsworth perceives the burden of the enigma of life but he finds no way to get out of it.In fact,although Wordsworth is puzzled about the enigma of life,he does not get stuck in it.Instead,he gets rid of the burden by holding two beliefs.One is concerned with the nature,and the other is with human beings.The two beliefs embody Wordsworth’s humanism:Love for nature gives the poet wisdom as well as the power to love,and love for the mankind awakens the pure nature of human beings.They constitute the connotations of Wordsworth’s humanism,whose main feature is harmony:harmony with the nature and harmony with the mankind.

Abstract:The ecological crisis made the British and American ecological literature develop rapidly in the 20th century ecological thought. As a unique literary style that expresses the relationship between nature and man, British and American ecological literature has a far-reaching romantic tradition, and returning to nature is its eternal theme and dream. The study of the romantic tradition of British and American ecological literature has important implications for the development of ecological literature and ecological criticism. British and American romantic writers wrote their own ecological consciousness from three aspects: natural aesthetic and spiritual significance, simple ecological environmental protection consciousness, and life community. They reveal the true meaning of beauty in nature, interpret the beauty of harmony in harmony with nature, advocate returning to nature and the beautiful nature of human beings, and open up a natural path leading to truth, goodness, and beauty for people to pursue their spiritual home. In addition, they also expressed their deep concern for natural resources and the natural environment and called on people to respect life and protect and rationally use natural resources. It highlights that people are not the real masters of the nature, but as an inseparable member of the nature, they form an equal community of destiny with other creatures in the world. The value of British and American romantic literature lies in revealing the deep relationship and mutual influence between human beings and nature and prompting people to comprehend the importance of protecting the ecological environment and living in harmony with nature.

Abstract:This study analyzes the fusion of self and nature in John Keats's ode "Ode to a Nightingale" from ecocritical perspective. To do so, the ecocritical insights envisioned by Arne Naess, Bill Devall, George Sessions and Timothy W. Luke have been used as theoretical parameters to analyze the primary text. As the focus of the deep ecological trend, the uniformity between the human self and nature is represented in this text. This uniformity restores the significance of realizing the self with nature. This realization leads to the fusion. The fusion combines harmonious relationship between the self and nature to form a single entity. Due to this process, the selected primary text merges human beings and natural sublimity by means of a nightingale bird. When human beings cannot make positive attitude towards nature and act accordingly, their self does not get chance to be attached with nature. Nature is essential for all entities. The destruction of natural world causes the destruction of self. This destruction gets a solution only when there arises symbiotic bonding between human beings and nature. This bonding adds new knowledge in the existing scholarship being itself different from the previous research works.

Abstract:Song Dynasty was the refinement stage in the appreciation of the nature in China.T he three main forms of the natural appreciation which formed in Wei and Jin Dynasty had been succeed comprehensively,meanwhile,the aesthetic activities in the nature also showed its features: in landscape wandering,to get wisdom from the nature became a kind of special aesthetic tendency in the natural appreciation-reason taste;in garden building,all details were decorated exquisitely,the private gardens which combined both of landscape pleasure and day-life convenience developed greatly;in natural arts,the paintings about landscape,flowers and birds were flourishing,it showed the value of natural appreciation greatly,and changed the natural appreciation from objective affair into subjective one.

Abstract:This paper presents a critical analysis of the imagery used in William Wordsworth's poem My Heart Leaps Up, examining its role in the context of Ecocriticism. By offering a close reading of the poem and drawing on various eco-critical perspectives, the researcher explores the relationship between the poem's imagery and concepts such as biocentrism, anthropocentrism, eco-feminism, and deep ecology. Additionally, the researcher compares My Heart Leaps Up with other nature poems by Wordsworth and other Romantic poets, which helps us to identify particular stylistic and thematic features of the poem. This study aims to demonstrate how the use of imagery in My Heart Leaps Up connects to contemporary discourses on climate change and the anthropogenic epoch. This paper highlights the significance of My Heart Leaps Up within the broader context of Wordsworth's poetry and offers new theoretical and argumentative extensions to the reading of his nature poetry. Overall, this research contributes to our understanding of how language and imagery can be used to convey the beauty and importance of the natural world and our role in it.

Abstract:Taking Goethe’s views on nature as the breakthrough point,this paper reviews and sorts out discussions on the development of the relation between “oneness”and “many”in the history of western philosophy.The question of the relation thereof,which derived from ancient Greece and passed through the Middle Ages and Spinoza’s modern pantheism,has played a determining role in the shaping of the immanent characteristics of German idealism of the Goethe’s Age.Against such a backdrop of thinking, Goethe, as an outstanding representative of German classicistic culture, demonstrated in his cognition of nature and path of exploration features distinct from the modern technological-operation-based scientific method and views on nature; and he even furthered understanding of this question under the new historical conditions.In this paper,the elaboration of this finding is based on the sources of the original texts.

Abstract:The “nature” view in WANG Guo-wei’s poetics was set up in terms of the ideological resources from both the Chinese and the western poetic traditions. That is, when he was constructing his own “nature” ideology, he was faced with both the traditional Chinese sense of “nature” and the western sense of it. These two senses do not have equality and homogeneity. The western theoretical subjectivity is composed of three senses of “nature”, that is, barbarism, organism, and irrationalism. But the senses of “nature” in ancient Chinese poetics suffer from depressing or being marginalized. Accordingly, it is better to treat the essence of “nature” in WANG’s poetics as a scramble for the symbolic meaning in the knowledge/power relationship under that unique historical context, rather than as a fusion of the two sources. It is owing to the occupation of the western symbolic meaning in the various modern Chinese lexical items that the authoritative status of the western meaning in contemporary Chinese ideological system is firmly set up.

Abstract:This paper investigates Ruan Ji and Ji Kang抯 view of nature. It shows that, in respect of view of nature, Ruan Ji and Ji Kang抯 thought had not much in common except that they both held that Yuan Qi was nature抯 noumenon and origin. From the point of view of nature, Ruan Ji and Ji Kang抯 thought was different from Xuan Xue抯 thought. Their theory of Yuan Qi was actually the continuance of Han Dynasty抯 Yuan Qi theory.
