Abstract:Floatover is a new installation method of modules,which is convenient,security, cost and time savings,wide using range and large lifting capacity.This paper describes the history,state of the art and development tendency in floatover deck installations.And also discusses the core technology,such as the design and selection of barge,position systems, shock absorbing systems and deck mating systems,as well as the simulation and analysis of the floatover process which include computer simulation,model test and offshore full scale measurement.
