Abstract:A subgroup H of a group G is called s-conditionally permutable in G if for every Sylow subgroup T of G there exists an element x ∈ G such that HTx = TxH. Using the concept of s-conditionally permutable subgroups, some new characterizations of finite groups are obtained and several interesting results are generalized.

Abstract:A subgroup $H$ of a group $G$ is called weakly s-supplemented in $G$ if there is a subgroup $T$ such that $G=HT$ and $H\cap T\le H_{sG}$, where $H_{sG}$ is the subgroup of $H$ generated by all those subgroups of $H$ which are s-permutable in $G$. The influence of primary weakly s-supplemented subgroups on the structure of finite groups is investigated. An open question promoted by Skiba is studied and some known results are generalized.

Abstract:Let H be a subgroup of a group G . We say that H is c -subnormal in G if there exists a subnormal subgroup T of G such that H ⁢ T = G and H ∩ T ⩽ H G , where H G is the maximal normal subgroup of G which is contained in H . In this paper, we investigate the structure of a finite group G under the assumption that all maximal subgroups are c -subnormal subgroups and present some new conditions for supersolvability.

Abstract:Let F be a class of finite groups. A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be F-s-quasinormal in G if there exists a normal subgroup T of G such that HT is s-permutable in G and (H boolean AND T)H-G/H-G is contained in the F-hypercenter Z(infinity)(F)(G/H-G) of G/H-G. In this paper, we investigate further the influence of F-s-quasinormality of some subgroups on the structure of finite groups. New characterization of some classes of finite groups are obtained.
Notes on $B$-groups

Abstract:Following Wielandt, a finite group $G$ is called a $B$-group (Burnside group) if every primitive group containing a regular subgroup isomorphic to $G$ is doubly transitive. Using a method of Schur rings, Wielandt proved that every abelian group of composite order which has at least one cyclic Sylow subgroup is a $B$-group. Since then, other infinite families of $B$-groups were found by the same method. A simple analysis of the proofs of these results shows that in all of them a stronger statement was proved for the group $G$ under consideration: every primitive Schur ring over $G$ is trivial. A finite group $G$ possessing the latter property, we call $BS$-group (Burnside-Schur group). In the present note, we give infinitely many examples of $B$-groups which are not $BS$-groups.

Abstract:In recent years, a series of papers about cover-avoiding property of subgroups appeared and all the studies were connected with chief factors of a finite group. However, about the cover-avoiding property of subgroups for non-chief factor, there is no study up to now. The purpose of this paper is to build the theory. Let A be a subgroup of a finite group G and Σ: G 0 ⩽ G 1 ⩽ … ⩽ G n some subgroup series of G. Suppose that for each pair (K,H) such that K is a maximal subgroup of H and G i−1 ⩽ K < H ⩽ G i for some i, either A ∩ H = A ∩ K or AH = AK. Then we say that A is Σ-embedded in G. In this paper, we study the finite groups with given systems of Σ-embedded subgroups. The basic properties of Σ-embedded subgroups are established and some new characterizations of some classes of finite groups are given and some known results are generalized.

Abstract:Group theory plays an important role in the study of quantum systems.The properties of subgroups and group chains of correlative groups are required to construct the wavefunctions of the quantum systems and to calculate matrix elements.The paper presents an algorithm to predict the subgroup properties of a given finite group using the concept of the directed subgroup graph and the depth traversal method.This algorithm can be used to study subgroups,invariant subgroups,conjugate subgroups,lengths of orbits,and canonical group chains.The properties of the icosahedral group I,symmetric group S7,and Mathieu group M11 were computed as examples to show effectiveness of this algorithm.

Abstract:Let Γ=(V,E) be a graph and a,b nonnegative integers. An (a,b) -regular set in Γ is a nonempty proper subset D of V such that every vertex in D has exactly a neighbours in D and every vertex in V∖D has exactly b neighbours in D . Let G be a finite group and S a square-free normal subset of G . The Cayley sum graph Cay+(G,S) of G with respect to S is the graph with vertex set G such that two distinct vertices x,y are adjacent if and only if xy is in S . A subset (resp. subgroup) D of G is called an (a,b) -regular set (resp. subgroup (a,b) -regular set) of G if it is an (a,b) -regular set in some Cayley sum graph of G . Building on previous work, in this paper, we mainly study (0,b) -regular sets of Cayley sum graphs. We first obtain some necessary and sufficient conditions for a subgroup of a group G to be a (0,b) -regular set of G . Then, we show some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of subgroup (0,b) -regular sets of a finite abelian group. Finally, as applications, we characterize all possible subgroup (0,b) -regular sets of a cyclic group, a dihedral group and a generalized quaternion group.

Abstract:Throughout this paper, all groups are finite and sigma is some partition of the set of all primes P (that is, sigma = {sigma(i) vertical bar i is an element of I}, where P = boolean OR(i is an element of I)sigma(i) and sigma(i) boolean AND sigma(j) = empty set for all i not equal j). A subgroup A of a group G is said to be sigma-subnormal in G if there is a subgroup chain A = A(0) <= A(1) <= . . . <= A(n) = G such that either A(i-1) >= A(i) or A(i)/(A(i-1))A(i) is a sigma(j)-group for some j = j(i) for all i = 1, . . ., n. In this review, we discuss some known results of the theory of sigma-subnormal subgroups and also some open questions in this line research.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group, p be a prime and let IBr(G) be the set of irreducible (p−) Brauer characters of G . If every Brauer character φ∈IBr(G) is monomial, then G is said to be an Mp -group. Bessenrodt proved that normal Hall subgroups of Mp -groups are Mp -groups. In this article, we generalize this result.

Abstract:In this note we study countable subgroups of the full group of a measure preserving equivalence relation. We provide various constraints on the group structure, the nature of the action, and on the measure of fixed point sets, that imply that the subgroup topology is not discrete. We mention various conjectures about discrete subgroups of full groups.
