The Historical Orientation of Modernization

Abstract:A properly historical orientation of modernization includes a time orientation and a space orientation. The former refers to our cognition to the permanence of modernization process and modern society, while the latter refers to our cognition to the realistic standards and the frame of reference of modernization. We can have a correct understanding of common modernity only by embracing this historical orientation, and the character of which decides the processes of modernization of different countries to be a long haul one of learning each other, coping each other, competing with each other and surpassing each other.
