Abstract:In this paper we study the variety of one dimensional representations of a finite $W$-algebra attached to a classical Lie algebra, giving a precise description of the dimensions of the irreducible components. We apply this to prove a conjecture of Losev describing the image of his orbit method map. In order to do so we first establish new Yangian-type presentations of semiclassical limits of the $W$-algebras attached to distinguished nilpotent elements in classical Lie algebras, using Dirac reduction.

Inspired by the work of Kobayashi on discrete series for indefinite Stiefel manifolds, Gross-Wallach on quaternonic discrete series and their analytic continuation, and Orsted-Wolf on Borel-de Siebenthal discrete series, we define and study Borel-de Siebenthal representations (also called quasi-holomorphic representations) associated with Borel-de Siebenthal root systems for simple Lie groups of non-Hermitian type.

Abstract:In paper, we study the representation theory of super $W(2,2)$ algebra ${\mathfrak{L}}$. We prove that ${\mathfrak{L}}$ has no mixed irreducible modules and give the classification of irreducible modules of intermediate series. We determinate the conjugate-linear anti-involution of ${\mathfrak{L}}$ and give the unitary modules of intermediate series.

Abstract:We obtain exhaustive classification of inequivalent realizations of the Witt and Virasoro algebras by Lie vector fields of differential operators in the space $\mathbb{R}^3$. Using this classification we describe all inequivalent realizations of the direct sum of the Witt algebras in $\mathbb{R}^3$. These results enable constructing all possible (1+1)-dimensional classically integrable equations that admit infinite dimensional symmetry algebra isomorphic to the Witt or the direct sum of Witt algebras. In this way the new classically integrable nonlinear PDE in one spatial dimension has been obtained. In addition, we construct a number of new nonlinear (1+1)-dimensional PDEs admitting infinite symmetries.

Abstract:The Iwahori--Hecke and Yokonuma--Hecke algebras have played crucial roles in algebraic combinatorics and the representation theory of finite groups. In this work, we use classical results from representation theory to compute the character values of the Yokonuma--Hecke algebra at $w_{0}$ and $w_{0}^{2}$, where $w_{0}$ denotes the element of maximal length in the corresponding Weyl group.

Abstract: Let $G$ be a real reductive group in Harish-Chandra's class. We derive some consequences of theory of coherent continuation representations to the counting of irreducible representations of $G$ with a given infinitesimal character and a given bound of the complex associated variety. When $G$ is a real classical group (including the real metaplectic group), we investigate the set of special unipotent representations of $G$ attached to $\check{\mathcal O}$, in the sense of Arthur and Barbasch-Vogan. Here $\check{\mathcal O}$ is a nilpotent adjoint orbit in the Langlands dual of $G$ (or the metaplectic dual of $G$ when $G$ is a real metaplectic group). We give a precise count for the number of special unipotent representations of $G$ attached to $\check{ \mathcal O}$. We also reduce the problem of constructing special unipotent representations attached to $\check{\mathcal O}$ to the case when $\check{\mathcal O}$ is analytically even (equivalently for a real classical group, has good parity in the sense of M{\oe}glin). The paper is the first in a series of two papers on the classification of special unipotent representations of real classical groups.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a representation-finite self-injective algebra over an algebraically closed field $k$. We give a new characterization for an orthogonal system in the stable module category $A$-$\stmod$ to be a simple-minded system. As a by-product, we show that every Nakayama-stable orthogonal system in $A$-$\stmod$ extends to a simple-minded system.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that every invertible $2$-local or local automorphism of a simple generalized Witt algebra over any field of characteristic $0$ is an automorphism. In particular, every $2$-local or local automorphism of Witt algebras $W_n$ is an automorphism for all $n\in \mathbb{N}$. But some simple generalized Witt algebras indeed have $2$-local (and local) automorphisms that are not automorphisms.

Abstract:We define categories $\mathcal{O}^w$ of representations of Borel subalgebras $\mathcal{U}_q\mathfrak{b}$ of quantum affine algebras $\mathcal{U}_q\hat{\mathfrak{g}}$, which come from the category $\mathcal{O}$ twisted by Weyl group elements $w$. We construct inductive systems of finite-dimensional $\mathcal{U}_q\mathfrak{b}$-modules twisted by $w$, which provide representations in the category $\mathcal{O}^w$. We also establish a classification of simple modules in these categories $\mathcal{O}^w$.

Abstract:Lie algebras formed via semi-direct sums of the Witt algebra $\text{Der}(\mathbb{C}[t,t^{-1}])$ and its modules have become increasingly prominent in both physics and mathematics in recent years. In this paper, we complete the study of (Leibniz) central extensions, derivations and automorphisms of the Lie algebras formed from the semi-direct sum of the Witt algebra and its indecomposable intermediate series modules (that is, graded modules with one-dimensional graded components). Our techniques exploit the internal grading of the Witt algebra, which can be applied to a wider class of graded Lie algebras.

Abstract:We show that the fermionic matrix model can be realized by W-representation. We construct the Virasoro constraints with higher algebraic structures, where the constraint operators obey the Witt algebra and null 3-algebra. The remarkable feature is that the character expansion of the partition function can be easily derived from such Virasoro constraints. It is a τ-function of the KP hierarchy. We construct the fermionic Aristotelian tensor model and give its W-representation. Moreover, we analyze the fermionic red tensor model and present the W-representation and character expansion of the partition function.
