Abstract:In this paper, our first purpose is to describe a class of phenomena involving the growth in the Hadamard–Kong product of several Dirichlet series with different growth indices. We prove that (i) the order of the Hadamard–Kong product series is determined by the growth in the Dirichlet series with smaller indices if these Dirichlet series have different growth indices; (ii) the q1-type of the Hadamard–Kong product series is equal to zero if p Dirichlet series are of qj-regular growth, and q1<q2<⋯<qp, qj∈N+, j=1,2,...,p. The second purpose is to reveal the properties of the growth in the Hadamard–Kong product series of two Dirichlet series—when one Dirichlet series is of finite order, the other is of logarithmic order, and two Dirichlet series are of finite logarithmic order—and obtain the growth relationships between the Hadamard–Kong product series and two Dirchlet series concerning the order, the logarithmic order, logarithmic type, etc. Finally, some examples are given to show that our results are best possible.

Abstract:We give an explicit description of polynomial growth solutions to some sub-elliptic operators of divergence form with [Formula: see text]-periodic coefficients on the Heisenberg group, where the periodicity has to be meant with respect to the Heisenberg geometry. We show that the polynomial growth solutions are necessarily polynomials with [Formula: see text]-periodic coefficients. We also prove the Liouville-type theorem for the Dirichlet problem to these sub-elliptic equations on an unbounded domain on the Heisenberg group, show that any bounded solution to the Dirichlet problem must be constant.
Completely regular growth solutions to linear differential equations with exponential polynomials coefficients

Abstract:Consider the linear differential equation $$ f^{(n)}+A_{n-1}f^{(n-1)}+\cdots+A_{0}f=0 $$ where the coefficients $A_j,j=0,\ldots,n-1,$ are exponential polynomials. It is known that every solution is entire. This paper will show that all transcendental solutions of finite growth order are of completely regular growth. This problem was raised in Heittokangas et al.[8, p.33], which involves an extensive question about Gol'dberg-Ostrovskiǐ's Problem [5, p.300]. Moreover, we define functions in a generalized class concluding exponential polynomial functions, which are also of completely regular growth.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of a double phase problem with variable exponents and Dirichlet boundary condition. Based on an abstract critical point theorem, we establish existence results under very general assumptions on the nonlinear term, such as a subcritical growth and a superlinear condition. In particular, we prove the existence of two bounded weak solutions with opposite energy sign and we state some special cases in which they turn out to be nonnegative.

Abstract:In the present work, we establish sufficient conditions for a Dirichlet series induced by general frequencies to be universal with respect to vertical translations. Our results can be applied to known universal objects such as Hurwitz zeta functions and also can provide new examples of universal Dirichlet series including the alternating prime zeta function $\sum_{n\geq1}(-1)^np_n^{-s}$.

Abstract:We work with a double-phase energy functional exhibiting -perturbed -growth. We look for regularity properties of such functional in the setting of Musielak-Orlicz-Sobolev space, by imposing suitable conditions on the data. We further obtain the existence and uniqueness results for the solution of perturbed Dirichlet double-phase problems. We deal with both the cases of uncontrolled growth and controlled growth.

Abstract:We study the growth at the golden rotation number of Sudler's sine product. This sequence has been variously studied elsewhere as a skew product of sines, Birkhoff sum, q-Pochhammer symbol (on the unit circle), and restricted Euler function. In particular we study the Fibonacci decimation of the sequence, and prove that the renormalisation subsequence converges to a constant. From this we show rigorously that the growth is bounded by power laws. This provides the theoretical basis to explain recent experimental results reported by Knill and Tangerman (Self-similarity and growth in Birkhoff sums for the golden rotation. Nonlinearity, 24(11):3115-3127, 2011).

Abstract:We evaluate the first moment of central values of the family of quadratic Dirichlet $L$-functions using the method of double Dirichlet series. Under the generalized Riemann hypothesis, we prove an asymptotic formula with an error term of size that is the fourth root of that of the primary main term.

Abstract:An ordinary Dirichlet series has three abscissae of interest, describing the maximal regions where the Dirichlet series converges, converges uniformly, and con- verges absolutely. The paper of Hille and Bohnenblust in 1931, regarding the region on which a Dirichlet series can converge uniformly but not absolutely, has prompted much investigation into this region, the "Bohr strip". However, a related natural question has apparently gone unanswered: For a Dirichlet series with non-trivial Bohr strip, how far beyond the Bohr strip might the series converge? We investigate this question by explicit construction, creating Dirichlet series which converge beyond their Bohr strip.

On the regularized products of some Dirichlet series

Abstract:In this paper, we show that the regularized determinants of some Dirichlet series are multiplicative. As an application, we give generalizations of Lerch's formula for the classical gamma function and we determine the sum of some Dirichlet series generalizing Euler's formula on the sum of the reciprocal of squares. We recover the results of Kurokawa and Wakayama, and give a new proof for some Euler's formulas.

Abstract:In this paper, we completely give the solution of the problem of Littlewood-type randomization in the Hardy and Bergman spaces of Dirichlet series. The Littlewood-type theorem for Bergman spaces of Dirichlet series is very different from the corresponding version for Hardy spaces of Dirichlet series; but also exhibits various pathological phenomena compared with the setting of analytic Bergman spaces over the unit disk, due to the fact that Dirichlet series behave as power series of infinitely many variables. A description for the inclusion between some mixed norm spaces of Dirichlet series plays an essential role in our investigation. Finally, as another application of the inclusion, we completely characterize the superposition operators between Bergman spaces of Dirichlet series.

Abstract:Conrey, Farmer and Zirnbauer introduced a recipe to find asymptotic formulas for the sum of ratios of products of shifted L-functions. These ratios conjectures are very powerful and can be used to determine many statistics of L-functions, including moments or statistics about the distribution of zeros. We consider the family of real Dirichlet characters, and use multiple Dirichlet series to prove the ratios conjectures with one shift in the numerator and denominator in some range of the shifts. This range can be improved by extending the family to include non-primitive characters. All of the results are conditional under the Generalized Riemann hypothesis. This extended range is good enough to enable us to compute an asymptotic formula for the sum of shifted logarithmic derivatives near the critical line. As an application, we compute the one-level density for test functions whose Fourier transform is supported in ( − 2 , 2 ) \left (-2,2\right ) , including lower-order terms.

Multiple Dirichlet series associated with quadrics

Abstract:We define a multiple Dirichlet series associated with quadrics which is the zero locus of a quadratic form. This multiple Dirichlet series is linked to a Shintani zeta function associated with a prehomogeneous vector space. To obtain the functional equations we construct a filtration of the quadratic space and define the parabolic group actions, and then apply a non-abelian Poisson summation formula which sums over all lower dimensional quadrics along with the original quadrics. We show the group of functional equations is isomorphic to a finite Weyl group of type A3.
