We shall give an overview of these problems and current efforts. Finally, we set an eye on the amalgamation of Web services and Grid technologies.

Abstract:Recently, Web services have generated great interests in both vendors and researchers. Web services, based on existing Internet protocols and open standards, can provide a flexible solution to the problem of application integration. With the help of WSDL, SOAP, and UDDI, Web services are becoming popular in Web applications. However, the current Web services architectures are confronted with a few stubborn problems, for instance, security. In this paper, we shall give an overview of these problems. We believe that solving these problems will become crucial to success of Web services. In the end, we predict distinct advances in semantic Grid services.

Abstract:Web Services are self-contained, modular applications that can be described, published, located, and invoked over a network, generally, the Web. Yet the problem emerges as different Web Services interoperate each other. In this paper we recommend the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)[1] as the communication standard in the Web Services Architecture to solve the problem.First, we describe what is Web Services and present the architecture of it. Then, according to the challenge that Web Services faces, we address the key enabling technologies of which SOAP be composed. SOAP has many advantages that other binary protocols, such as Java RMI, do not have. Finally, by introducing an E-business model based on the integration of SOAP, UDDI [2], MQ [3] etc., we show the manner and flow of SOAP to implement Web Services architecture.

Abstract:Web service is becoming an important approach for enterprises to implement their business applications on Internet. However, most of Web services are built based on special business function, they are isolated and do not address the information communication for integrating the business processes. In this paper, we propose a new composition framework, which comprises the Web-based semantic definition for business messages, the methodology of constructing visualized integrated processes based on Business Process Execution Language (BPEL), and the strategy of vocabulary-based business rules for e-business. Abstract:Workflow developed through several decades. With the appearance of the advanced technology, workflow is also changing quickly. The model of web services workflow has been proposed, but it is not used to the realistic application. Our work is to construct a web services workflow based on XML Process Define Language (XPDL). By virtue of two tools, workflow will enter the web stage, and theory is applied to concrete applications.Web Services use a loosely coupled integration model to allow flexible integration of heterogeneous systems in a variety of domains including business-to-consumer, business-to-business and enterprise application integration. XPDL is a kind of language standard that is used to define workflow process. It and web services are both based on XML standard. So they will be propitious to construct the strong workflow system in the web. The whole framework of system is put forward, and some arisen problem about technology will be solved.

Abstract:As the quick development of the agent and grid technologies, more opportunities and challenges are brought into the area of workflow. These technologies provide workflow with an ideal computing environment, which help business and science goals to be achieved effectively by means of integrating various distributed resources in an easy to access environment. In this paper, the novel distributed workflow architecture is proposed, which integrates concepts and technologies from web services, grid and agents. With this approach, coordination of workflow is achieved by communication between agents. Moreover, this approach enhances scalability and reliability.

Abstract:Enterprise resources are the combination of entities concerned with engineering, management, system integration, etc. Reusability and interoperability of resources are the inherent requirement of enterprise operation. Engineering design is such a case which involves various resources such as tools, models and teams. To construct an environment for collaborative design, we employ web services as the infrastructure for resource wrapping and communication. At the same time, HLA is introduced towards simulation management in design analysis. Thus, simulation is leveraged through remote access of its components and web services are controlled in such a simulation oriented solution. The collaborative simulation of tilting locomotive is studied to verify the feasibility of employing web services. The results confirm that web services and SOA are promising for a new computing paradigm in modern enterprises.

Abstract:The sharing and inner operating between different applications have become increasingly insistent demands in the process of implementing enterprise informationization. Firstly, the current situation of the existed information systems in the enterprise was analyzed. Secondly, the limitations of the traditional integration techniques were discussed. Thirdly, the advantage of Web services was described and an enterprise application integration framework based on Web services was presented. Abstract:As an evolutionary technology,Web services poses new challenges for software testing.Web service testing need to be adaptive to distributed coordinated environment.To ensure the quality of Web services,services need to be verified and validated at different levels including infrastructure,unit and integration,from different perspectives inclu- ding functionality,performance,reliability,security,etc.The paper analyzes the issues of web service testing and gives an overview of testing techniques on SOAP protocol verification,WSDL extension,and model-based verification tech- niques of composite service specification.It finally discusses future research and practice on Web service testing.

Abstract:Web Services define a new paradigm in nowadays' collaborative applications development in enterprises. It spans systems and organizations. The use of CAD systems calls for more productive collaborative work on Internet. An efficient framework will bring a great deal of convenience to meet this demand. Considering the inherent advantages of web services, the paper presented a collaborative working framework of CAD systems based on web services and described the architecture of the framework in detail. Furthermore, several key technologies used in this framework are discussed, including services division method, which guarantees high feasibility in maintaining, and the deploying policy of distribution services for the poise of web servers' burden. Finally, an example using this framework is presented.

Abstract:A Web Service is a self-contained software component that reflects the Service-Oriented Architectural(SOA)approach,enabling cross-platform integration by standard Web-based protocols.While an Agent is an intelligent software entity that is capable of independent action providing controlled access to shared services and resources.Web Services share many similarities to Multi-Agent System(MAS)in architecture,paradigm and technology.The trustworthiness is a key issue in the tremendous growth of Web Services.And collaborative distributed test for Web Services becomes a great challenge.This paper is going to discuss the commonness of Web Services and Agent,and briefly summarize how Agent can be utilized to add value to Web Services,which promotes cross-fertilization of techniques between these two areas.Due to the open,dynamic and collaborative nature of Web Service test,regarding the autonomy,reactivity,pro-activity and social ability of Agent,this paper proposes a Multi-Agent based Service Testing(MAST)framework,and discuss its key technology.

Abstract:Web Services, as a wonderful distributed computing technology, are used in many business system, such as ERP and CRM. However, dynamical nature of web services and changeful business requirements result in increasing complexities of management of web services, especially in large-scale business system. In this paper, we present architecture of autonomic management for web services base on federated multi-agent system. It uses task agent as a container of web services to manage web services and has an autonomic cooperation mechanism to share information and cooperate among task agents, manager agents and middle agents in agent federation to finish some computing tasks.

Abstract:CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is one of the popular technologies that can be used to construct enterprise level application,systems. However, none of conventional middleware technologies will dominate the software industry alone; therefore interoperability becomes one of the most crucial issues. Web Services is a kind of new Web application shape which shields from the existence of different middleware platforms and programming language abstractions. This paper firstly presents two models for wrapping CORBA objects to Web Services, and then analyzes some key technologies such as scalable architecture, SOAP/IIOP protocol datatype mapping, unified service providing infrastructure etc. Finally, it gives some tests and performance comparison on top of StarWebService that is developed by our team.

Abstract:With the emergence of technologies and standards supporting the development of Web services, more and more services are becoming available on the Internet. Composing existing services to obtain new functionality becomes essential for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications. Research on service composition has attracted many researchers’ attention. A lot of service composition methods were proposed. This paper gives an overview of the research on service composition methods. It divides those methods into two categories: business-process-driven methods and task-solve-oriented methods; and then introduces the current methods in details. Finally, it points out the future direction of service composition technology.

Abstract:Web service is an Internet-based software component that can shield all sorts of resources on basis of standard protocol stack. It helps to raise the level of abstraction and simplify conventional COTS middleware for resource sharing and cooperation across organization. In this paper, a Web service container framework (WSCF) is presented to offer an effective systematic solution for Web service-based application supporting environment, referencing from CORBA and J2EE system managing architecture and using SOAP interoperation protocol. The proposed framework focuses on addressing problems in two aspects: 1) Web service runtime supporting technologies: unified resource mapping strategy, flexible service adaptation mechanism, and SOAP engine scheduling algorithm; 2) several application supporting services: publication and discovery service, Web service composition service, and security service, etc. In particular, it describes ongoing project StarWebService that has followed WSCF. Finally, some open issues about WSCF are introduced and the future direction of WSCF is pointed out.
