Abstract:We prove, by finding nice Lax pairs, that the NLS-: i psi(t) + psi(xx) - 2/psi/(2) psi = 0 is gauge equivalent to the Schrodinger flow of maps from R-1 into the hyperbolic 2-space. This gives a geometric explanation for the NLS-. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.

Abstract:In this paper we study a contracting flow of closed, convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space ℝ^n+1 with speed f r^α K, where K is the Gauss curvature, r is the distance from the hypersurface to the origin, and f is a positive and smooth function. If α≥ n+1, we prove that the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly after normalisation to a soliton, which is a sphere centred at the origin if f ≡ 1. Our argument provides a parabolic proof in the smooth category for the classical Aleksandrov problem, and resolves the dual q-Minkowski problem introduced by Huang, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang (Acta Math. 216 (2016): 325-388), for the case q<0. If α < n+1, corresponding to the case q>0, we also establish the same results for even function f and origin-symmetric initial condition, but for non-symmetric f, counterexample is given for the above smooth convergence.

Abstract:The gauge equivalence of the analogues of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation NLS- and those of the Schrodinger flow of maps into H-2 (the Minkowski HF model) in 2 + 1 dimensions are proved, respectively. Combining these with the already-known results, we obtain a complete understanding of the gauge equivalence of the analogous models of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (for kappa = 1 or -1) and those of the Heisenberg ferromagnet model (for Euclidean or Minkowski) in 2 + 1 dimensions.

Abstract:In the paper [20], the authors introduced a Gauss curvature flow to study the Aleksandrov problem and the dual Minkowski problem. The paper [20] treated the cases when one can establish the uniform estimate for the Gauss curvature flow. In this paper, we study the $ L_p $ dual Minkowski problem, an extension of the dual Minkowski problem. We deal with some cases in which there is no uniform estimate for the Gauss curvature flow. We adopt the topological method from [13] to find a special initial condition such that the Gauss curvature flow converges to a solution of the $ L_p $ dual Minkowski problem.

Abstract: In this paper, we study the $L_p$-Gaussian Minkowski problem, which arises in the $L_p$-Brunn-Minkowski theory in Gaussian probability space. We use Aleksandrov's variational method with Lagrange multipliers to prove the existence of the logarithmic Gauss Minkowski problem. We construct a suitable Gauss curvature flow of closed, convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, and prove its long-time existence and converges smoothly to a smooth solution of the normalized $L_p$ Gaussian Minkowski problem in cases of $p>0$ and $-n-1<p\leq 0$ with even prescribed function respectively. We also provide a parabolic proof in the smooth category to the $L_p$-Gaussian Minkowski problem in cases of $p\geq n+1$ and $0<p<n+1$ with even prescribed function, respectively.

Abstract:We consider a shrinking flow of smooth, closed, uniformly convex hypersurfaces in (n+1)-dimensional Euclidean space with speed fu^{alpha}{sigma}_n^{beta}, where u is the support function of the hypersurface, alpha, beta are two constants, and beta>0, sigma_n is the n-th symmetric polynomial of the principle curvature radii of the hypersurface. We prove that the flow has a unique smooth and uniformly convex solution for all time, and converges smoothly after normalisation, to a soliton which is a solution of an elliptic equation, when the constants alpha, beta belong to a suitable range, provided the initial hypersuface is origin-symmetric and f is a smooth positive even function on S^n. For the case alpha>= 1+n*beta, beta>0, we prove that the flow converges smoothly after normalisation to a unique smooth solution of an elliptic equation without any constraint on the initial hypersuface and smooth positive function f. When beta=1, our argument provides a uniform proof to the existence of the solutions to the equation of L_p Minkowski problem for p belongs to (-n-1,+infty).

Abstract:Let X be a smooth subvariety of CP^N. We study a flow, called balancing flow, on the space of projectively equivalent embeddings of X, which attempts to deform the given embedding into a balanced one. If L->X is an ample line bundle, considering embeddings via H^0(L^k) gives a sequence of balancing flows. We prove that, provided these flows are started at appropriate points, they converge to Calabi flow for as long as it exists. This result is the parabolic analogue of Donaldson's theorem relating balanced embeddings to metrics with constant scalar curvature [JDG 59(3):479-522, 2001]. In our proof we combine Donaldson's techniques with an asymptotic result of Liu-Ma [arXiv:math/0601260v2] which, as we explain, describes the asymptotic behaviour of the derivative of the map FS\circ Hilb whose fixed points are balanced metrics.

Abstract:In this note, we prove that the Schrödinger flow of maps from a closed Rieman surface into a compact irreducible Hermitian symmetric space admits a global weak solution. Also, we show the existence of weak solutions to the initial value problem of Heisenberg model wit Lie algebra values, which is closely related to the Schrödinger flow on compact Hermitian symmetric spaces.

Abstract:By using holomorphic Riemannian geometry in ℂ3, the coupled Landau-Lifshitz equation (CLL) is proved to be exactly the equation of Schrödinger flows from ℝ1 to the complex 2-sphere ℂS2(1) ↪ ℂ3. Furthermore, regarded as a model of moving complex curves in ℂ3, CLL is shown to preserve the $$\mathcal{PT}$$ symmetry if the initial data is of the $$\mathcal{P}$$ symmetry. As a consequence, the nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NNLS) proposed recently by Ablowitz and Musslimani is proved to be gauge equivalent to CLL with initial data being restricted by the $$\mathcal{P}$$ symmetry. This gives an accurate characterization of the gauge-equivalent magnetic structure of NNLS described roughly by Gadzhimuradov and Agalarov (2016).

Abstract:For the nonlinear Schrodinger equation iu(t) + Delta u + lambda vertical bar u vertical bar(alpha)u = 0 in R-N, local existence of solutions in H-s is well known in the H-s-subcritical and critical cases 0 < alpha <= 4/(N - 2s), where 0 < s < min{N/2, 1}. However, even though the solution is constructed by a fixed-point technique, continuous dependence in Hs does not follow from the contraction mapping argument. In this paper, we show that the solution depends continuously on the initial value in the sense that the local flow is continuous H-s -> H-s. Abstract:In this paper, by using the G(2)-structure on Im(O) congruent to R-7 from the octonions O, the G(2)-binormal motion of curves gamma(t, s) in R-7 associated to the almost complex structure on S-6 is studied. The motion is proved to be equivalent to Schrodinger flows from R-1 to S-6, and also to a nonlinear Schrodinger-type system (NLSS) in three unknown complex functions that generalizes the famous correspondence between the binormal motion of curves in R-3 and the focusing nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation. Some related geometric properties of the surface Sigma in Im(O) swept by gamma(t, s) are determined.

Abstract:More recently, the local well-posedness of the Cauchy problem of the Schrödinger flow of maps from R2 to H2, the hyperbolic 2-space, was proved in [28]. In this paper, we display a blow-up result of solutions to such a Schrödinger flow. This shows a widely believed assertion that solutions to Schrödinger flows may blow up in finite time in general when the dimensions of starting manifolds are greater than 2 ([14]).

Abstract:We consider the 1d nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) on the torus with initial data distributed according to the Gaussian measure with covariance operator $(1 - \Delta)^{-s}$, where $\Delta$ is the Laplace operator. We prove that the Gaussian measures are quasi-invariant along the flow of (NLS) for the full range $s > \frac{3}{2}$. This improves a previous result obtained by Planchon, Tzvetkov and Visciglia (in 2019), where the quasi-invariance is proven for $s=2k$, for all integers $k\geq 1$. In our approach, to prove the quasi-invariance, we directly establish an explicit formula for the Radon-Nikodym derivative $G_s(t,.)$ of the transported measures, which is obtained as the limit of truncated Radon-Nikodym derivatives $G_{s,N}(t,.)$ for transported measures associated with a truncated system. We also prove that the Radon-Nikodym derivatives belong to $L^p$, $p>1$, with respect to $H^1(\mathbb{T})$-cutoff Gaussian measures, relying on the introduction of weighted Gaussian measures produced by a normal form reduction, following a recent work by Sun and Tzvetkov (in 2023). Additionally, we prove that the truncated densities $G_{s,N}(t,.)$ converges to $G_s(t,.)$ in $L^p$ (with respect to the $H^1(\mathbb{T})$-cutoff Gaussian measures).

Abstract:In this article, we study the unconditional uniqueness of. (H) over dot(s), 0 < s < 1, solutions for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation i partial derivative(t)u+Delta u+c vertical bar u vertical bar(alpha)u = 0 in R-n. We give a unified proof of the previously known results in the subcritical cases and critical cases, and we also extend these results to some previously unsettled cases. Our proof uses, in particular, negative order Sobolev spaces (or Besov spaces), general nonhomogeneous Strichartz estimates, and the improved regularity property for the difference of two solutions.

Abstract:We study the Calogero–Moser derivative nonlinear Schrödinger NLS equation i∂tu+∂xxu+(D+|D|)(|u|2)u=0 posed on the Hardy–Sobolev space H+s(R) with suitable s>0 . By using a Lax pair structure for this L2 ‐critical equation, we prove global well‐posedness for s≥1 and initial data with sub‐critical or critical L2 ‐mass ∥u0∥L22≤2π . Moreover, we prove uniqueness of ground states and also classify all traveling solitary waves. Finally, we study in detail the class of multi‐soliton solutions u(t) and we prove that they exhibit energy cascades in the following strong sense such that ∥u(t)∥Hs∼s|t|2s as t→±∞ for every s>0 .

Abstract:We consider the logarithmic Schr{ö}dinger equation, in various geometric settings. We show that the flow map can be uniquely extended from H^1 to L^2 , and that this extension is Lipschitz continuous. Moreover, we prove the regularity of the flow map in intermediate Sobolev spaces.
