Abstract:Let R be a ring andS a class of R-modules.S-superfluous epimorphisms and S-essential monomorphisms are introduced and studied in this article. As applications, some new characterizations of von Neumann regular rings and perfect rings are given. Finally, these notions are also used to study minimal homomorphisms.

Abstract:In this paper, the author studies the regularity of Munn rings and completely 0-simple semigroup rings. When either (i)R is a ring with identity andI and Λ are infinite, or (ii)R is a strong IBN and fully Dedekind-finite ring with identity and eitherI or Λ is finite, in Section 2, the regularity of the Munn ringM(R; I, Λ; P) is characterized; in Section 3, for a completely 0-simple semigroupS =M°(G; I, Λ; P), the regularity ofRS is characterized. Meantime, the author shows that for a locally finite monoidS and a ringR with identity,RS is a strong IBN ring if and only ifR is so;RS is fully Dedekind-finite if and only ifR is so.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. We introduce and study the notions of ($u$-)$S$-$w$-Noetherian modules and ($u$-)$S$-$w$-principal ideal modules. Some characterizations of these new concepts are given. In particular, we positively answer two open questions proposed by Kim and Lim [12, Question 14] and Lim [8, Question 8].

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. An $R$-module $T$ is called $u$-$S$-torsion ($u$- always abbreviates uniformly) provided that $sT=0$ for some $s\in S$. The notion of $u$-$S$-exact sequences is also introduced from the viewpoint of uniformity. An $R$-module $F$ is called $u$-$S$-flat provided that the induced sequence $0\rightarrow A\otimes_RF\rightarrow B\otimes_RF\rightarrow C\otimes_RF\rightarrow 0$ is $u$-$S$-exact for any $u$-$S$-exact sequence $0\rightarrow A\rightarrow B\rightarrow C\rightarrow 0$. A ring $R$ is called $u$-$S$-von Neumann regular provided there exists an element $s\in S$ satisfying that for any $a\in R$ there exists $r\in R$ such that $sa=ra^2$. We obtain that a ring $R$ is a $u$-$S$-von Neumann regular ring if and only if any $R$-module is $u$-$S$-flat. Several properties of $u$-$S$-flat modules and $u$-$S$-von Neumann regular rings are obtained.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. An $R$-module $P$ is called uniformly $S$-projective provided that the induced sequence $0\rightarrow \mathrm{Hom}_R(P,A)\rightarrow \mathrm{Hom}_R(P,B)\rightarrow \mathrm{Hom}_R(P,C)\rightarrow 0$ is $u$-$S$-exact for any $u$-$S$-short exact sequence $0\rightarrow A\rightarrow B\rightarrow C\rightarrow 0$. Some characterizations and properties of $u$-$S$-projective modules are obtained. The notion of $u$-$S$-semisimple modules is also introduced. A ring $R$ is called a $u$-$S$-semisimple ring provided that any free $R$-module is $u$-$S$-semisimple. Several characterizations of $u$-$S$-semisimple rings are provided in terms of $u$-$S$-semisimple modules, $u$-$S$-projective modules, $u$-$S$-injective modules and $u$-$S$-split $u$-$S$-exact sequences.

Abstract:Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity, S⊆R be a multiplicatively closed subset of R , and M be a unital R -module. In this article, we introduce the concepts of S -semiannihilator small submodules and S - T -small submodules as generalizations of S -small submodules. We investigate some basic properties of them and give some characterizations of such submodules, especially for (finitely generated faithful) multiplication modules.

Abstract:In this article, we give a generalization to injective modules by using $e$-exact sequences introduced by Akray in [1] and name it $e$-injective modules and investigate their properties. We reprove both Baer criterion and comparison theorem of homology using $e$-injective modules and $e$-injective resolutions. Furthermore, we apply the notion $e$-injective modules into local cohomology to construct a new form of the cohomology modules call it essential cohomology modules (briefly $e$-cohomology modules). We show that the torsion functor $\Gamma_a ( - )$ is an $e$-exact functor on torsion-free modules. We seek about the relationship of $e$-cohomology within the classical cohomology. Finally, we conclude that they are different on the vanishing of their $i_{th}$ cohomology modules.

Abstract:Let R be a commutative ring and C be a semidualizing R-module. For a given class of R-modules Q, we define a class Q(C) by M is an element of Q(C) double left right arrow Hom(R)(C, M) is an element of Q. We prove that if Q subset of A(C)(R) is a Kaplansky class and closed under direct sums, then Q(C)(perpendicular to) is special preenveloping. As corollaries, we can show that P-C(n perpendicular to) and F-C(n perpendicular to) are both special preenveloping. Finally, we show that I-C(n) is covering, I-C(n perpendicular to) is enveloping and special preenveloping provided R is Noetherian.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative ring and $S \subseteq R$ be a multiplicative subset. We introduce and study the concept of $S$-purity based on the notion of $S$-strongly flat modules. The class of $S$-pure injective modules will be studied. We demonstrate that this class is enveloping and explore its closedness under extension. The concept of purity is closely connected to the existence of phantom maps. So we will delve into the study of the $S$-phantom morphisms. We will establish that the $S$-phantom ideal is a precovering ideal and examine the situations where it becomes a covering ideal. Finally, in the last section, we will investigate an ideal version of the `Optimistic Conjecture', raised by Positselski and Slávik.

Abstract:In this paper, we study modules having the property that are invariant under some idempotent endomorphisms of its injective envelope. Such modules are called essentially Ï€ -injective. It is shown that (1) M is essentially Ï€ -injective iff for any essentially finite direct summand X 1 of M and any submodule X 2 of M with X1âˆ©X2=0 , there exists a direct summand X 0 of M containing X 2 such that M=X1âŠ•X0 , (2) M is essentially Ï€ -injective iff M is an ef-extending right R -module and for any decomposition M=M1âŠ•M2 with M 1 essentially finite, M 1 and M 2 are relatively injective, (3) if M is essentially Ï€ -injective and R satisfies ACC on right ideals of the form r ( m ), mâˆˆM , then M is a direct sum of uniform submodules. We also describe rings via essentially Ï€ -injective modules. It is shown that R is a semisimple artinian ring iff the direct sum of any two essentially Ï€ -injective right R -modules is essentially Ï€ -injective.

Abstract:In this paper a simple right R-module S over a ring R is called hypersimple if its injective hull E(S) is cyclic, and a ring R is called right hypersimple if every simple right R-module is hypersimple. We initiate a study of these new notions, and revisit Osofsky's work on hypercyclic rings, i.e. rings whose cyclic right modules have cyclic injective hulls.

Abstract:In the present paper, modules over integral domains and principal ideal domains that are proper essential extensions of some submodules are classified. We introduce a new class of modules that we call $\mathrm{SM}$ modules and show that the class of Artinian modules, locally finite modules, and modules of finite lengths are all proper subclasses of SM modules. We also show that non-semisimple $\mathrm{SM}$ modules possess essential socles. Further, we show that non-semieimple modules over integral domains with nonempty torsion-free parts do not possess essential socles.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce and explore a category of rings termed S FP-rings, defined by the property that each S -finite ideal of them is projective. We demonstrate that all hereditary rings inherently qualify as S FP-rings, while conversely, every S FP-ring is inherently semi-hereditary. Our research delves into the application and relevance of this concept across various facets of commutative ring extensions. These include localizations, direct products, trivial ring extensions, pullbacks, and the specific case of amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal. A significant outcome of our study is the identification and characterization of unique families of rings: those that are non-hereditary yet qualify as S FP-rings, and those that are semi-hereditary but do not meet the criteria for being S FP-rings. This work not only extends the theoretical understanding of ring structures but also contributes to the broader field of algebraic theory with practical examples and applications.

Abstract:Let R be a commutative ring with identity and S a multiplicative subset of R. The aim of this paper is to study the class of commutative rings in which every S-flat module is flat (resp., projective). An R-module M is said to be S-flat if the localization of M at S, M_S, is a flat R_S-module. Commutative rings R for which all S-flat R-modules are flat are characterized by the fact that R/Rs is a von Neumann regular ring for every s in S. While, commutative rings R for which all S-flat R-modules are projective are characterized by the following two conditions: R is perfect and the Jacobson radical J(R) of R is S-divisible. Rings satisfying these conditions are called S-perfect. Moreover, we give some examples to distinguish perfect rings, S-perfect rings, and semisimple rings. We also investigate the transfer results of the "S-perfectness" for various ring constructions, which allows the construction of more interesting examples.

Abstract:Let A ⊆ B be an extension of commutative rings with identity, ( S , ≤ ) a nonzero strictly ordered monoid, and S * = S \ { 0 } . Let A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 = { f ∈ 〚 B S , ≤ 〛 ∣ f ( 0 ) ∈ A } . In this study, we determine when the ring A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 is a Noetherian ring. We prove that when S is a strict monoid, if A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 is a Noetherian ring, then A is a Noetherian ring, B is a finitely generated A -module, and S is finitely generated. We also show that if B is a finitely generated A -module over a Noetherian ring A and ( S , ≤ ) is a positive strictly ordered monoid, which is finitely generated, then A + 〚 B S * , ≤ 〛 is a Noetherian ring.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. In this paper, we obtain the ACC characterization, Cartan-Eilenberg-Bass theorem and the absolutely pure characterization for $S$-Noetherian rings. In details, we show that a ring $R$ is an $S$-Noetherian ring if and only if any ascending chain of ideals of $R$ is $S$-stationary, if and only if any direct sum of injective modules is $S$-injective, if and only if any direct limit of injective modules is $S$-injective, if and only if any $(S$-$)$absolutely pure module is $S$-injective. We also characterized $S$-$w$-Noetherian rings similarly.

Abstract:We use the concept of a regular object with respect to another object in an arbitrary category, defined in \cite{dntd}, in order to obtain the transfer of regularity in the sense of Zelmanowitz between the categories $R-$mod and $S-$mod, when $S$ is an excellent extension of the ring $R$. Consequently, we obtain a result of \cite{ps}: if $S$ is an excellent extension of the ring $R$, then $S$ is von Neumann regular ring if and only if $R$ is also von Neumann regular ring. In the second part, using relative regular modules, we give a new proof of a classical result: the von Neumann regular property of a ring is Morita invariant. Finally, the von Neumann regularity of the Morita ring is investigated.

Abstract:A finitely generated module C over a commutative noetherian ring R is semidualizing if Hom R(C, C) ≅ R and for all i ≥ 1. For certain local Cohen–Macaulay rings (R, 𝔪), we verify the equality of Hilbert-Samuel multiplicities eR(J; C) = eR(J; R) for all semidualizing R-modules C and all 𝔪-primary ideals J. The classes of rings we investigate include those that are determined by ideals defining fat point schemes in projective space or by monomial ideals.
