Demand and Response: A Re-study of Adaptation of Migrant Children

Abstract:Humans have the potential to help them adjust automatically to find the balance with the environment, but the interaction of the human talent and the supply of environmental resources is the ultimate factor to promote people adaptation. During in the interaction with the environment, migrant children lacked of resource that affected their adaptation. In response to the needs of migrant children, on the basis of the needs assessment, through the implementation of the project of social work services, we selected the school as the main intervention system, the family as the support interventions system, and the community as the action interventions system, then input resources from the environment to help migrant children adapt the environment. After a professional assessment, the intervention effect is obvious. This project should be further promoted. But we also pointed out that because the differences between urban and rural areas that bring the migrant children the maladjustment and social exclusion, the direct service cannot respond to the migrant children' s demand. Indirect policy support, institutional resource supply, sustainability intervention is another key point.
