Abstract:We used to make research into the theatricals and variety shows in the Han Dynasty from the folk perspective.Now this paper tries to discuss the relations between theatricals and variety shows and wrestling in their development,and the government system and official ideology.The Han Dynasty had seen the thriving of the popular entertainment movement and the establishment of the corresponding institutions.

Abstract:Shimen was a made-made tunnel dug at the south end of the Baoxie Valley.As a gateway tunnel leading from the Guanzhong Plains to Sichuan in the Qinling Mountains in ancient times,Shimen carries large quantities of scenic spots and relics,the majority of which are graphic carvings.Many of these carved inscriptions were varieties of literary works written by famous men of letters.For literary styles,there were eulogies,inscriptions,epigraphs,accounts,poetic prose and poems.For documentary matters,what were recorded were many and various,including personalities,events,scenic spots,travel accounts.And for artistic taste,the works were narrative,lyrical and documentary.

Abstract:The Song Dynasty is an important turning point in the history of the development of Chinese feudal civilization. It is not only the peak of Chinese feudal culture when the Chinese traditional humanities tended to be mature, but also a period of the burgeoning of Chinese modern humanities, in which the rise of commercial cities, the formation of citizen class and the prominence of humanistic pursuit enabled the Song culture taking on obvious characteristics of modern times, and then resulted in the rise and prosperity of leisure culture. The aesthetic culture and artistic expression also took on the characteristics of following up the past and the old and ushering in the future and the new, with more resourceful and diversified aesthetic forms, aesthetics itself presented a turn of life-orientation and leisure-orientation.

Abstract:While the performance tradition of Bensen Uliger is mainly based on the Mongolian epical oral tradition, it must also be closely related to the oral tradition of the storytelling and the opera performance of Han nationality in the course of its evolvement. In the performance text of Bensen Uliger, the corresponding relations between the strophe formula or the polite formula about the hero's make-up and arms and the encomium in the text of the Hans' storytelling can be found. The formula even reflects Han's opera performing tradition. These Mongolian Bensen Uligers can be regarded as the folk imagination about the rise and fall of Chinese dynasties. The images and the characters of those important Chinese imperial figures in the Hans' storytelling, comic strips and opera performances must have provoked the inspiration of the Eastern Mongolian story-tellers and provided them with abundant materials in this regard. The oral tradition of Hans' storytelling is an important medium between the performance of the Mongolian Bensen Uliger and the opera performance of the Han nationality.

Abstract:While inheriting the missionary nature of Buddhism,the telling and singing literature of the Tang Dynasty served important social functions recognized by the folk culture and,therefore,turned into the source of a third cultural product in addition to the works of upper-class literati and the spontaneous creations of the masses.The imperial examina-tion system and the propagation of education in the Tang dynasty provided necessary conditions for the development of the telling and singing literature.The embodiment of filial piety and secular ethics in the telling and singing literature demon-strated the amalgamation of Buddhist doctrines and secular ethics,as well as the active response of secular ethics to the ideology of upper and ruling classes.The narrative content and strategies of the telling and singing literature illustrated how ordinary people perceived their lives and how religion and other ideas influenced their lives.

Abstract:Writing on the same subject by multi writers has a long history in China,and in the early period it was generally confined to the context of scholar assembly.But in Tang and Song Dynasty,it began to frequently appear at non-assembly occasions.As the works with a certain subject such as Ming Fei Qu,Chao Ran Tower,Qian Qiu Sui,and Zhong Xing Stele in Northern Song Dynasty have showed,the existence of this phenomenon was not only based on the convenience of information transmission but also closely connected to the development of scholar-bureaucrats' group expression: starting from the circle of friends,with mutual recognition in political standing and literary fashion,till open to the public;from the intentional invitation and organization to spontaneous singing and harmony;from occasional emotion echo to voluntary discussion from different angles with different themes.All these make clear that the scholar-bureaucrats were generally related to each other by literature and paid close attention to contemporary literary circles.

Abstract:In the 1920s, the Japanese scholar Naito Konan put forward the famous theories of “the Song dynasty is the beginning of modern China” and “the cultural transformation was completed during the Tang and Song dynasties,” which exerted far-reaching influence in the academic circle. However, although full of the “numerous academic growth points and exuberant academic vitality, the theories have not been well explored and illustrated yet.”1 This paper, taking Liu Yong as a case study, is intended to provide concrete examples to Naito’s theories. The urban narrative in Liu Yong’s lyrics—the multi-role discourse practice of a prodigal poet, a talented lyricist, and a traveling official—inherited the discourse splitting trend of the late-Tang and Five dynasties and finished the transformation from the elite to the mass discourse. Accordingly, it set the narrative mode of amorous themes and discourse mode of “talented lyricist plus amorous affairs,” which exerted far-reaching influence on the construction of the new urban culture in the Song dynasty.

Abstract:"Yueji" is an important aesthetic work in pre-Qin period.It not only recognizes the ethical value and ritual value of Yue,but also acknowledges entertainment value important,which is praiseworthy in that society.At the same time,there are also distinctive historical limitations: on one hand,entertainment is limited in Confucian value system strictly;the other hand,it is too rigid to treat ancient music and new sound,thus showing the paradox between reason and emotion.

Abstract:The Ming and Qing Dynasty was the prosperous time of leisure culture development in ancient Beijing.The change of custom brought tremendous influence on leisure activities in Beijing.The folk in Beijing after Wanli during the Ming Dynasty pursured material enjoyment and pleasure.In the early and middle of the Qing Dynasty,the three hills and five gardens were constructed,teahouses,restaurants,assembly halls,temple fairs,landscape spots developed well,commercial theater began to appear.Because of the policy of dividing-rule for Han town and Man town,the western area of the outer city located in the forefront of the districts of Beijing in all kinds of leisure sites building.At the end of Qing Dynasty,Beijing opera formed,while gardens and other leisure sites were destroyed by foreign invaders.However,From the Sino-Japanese naval battle to the collapse of the Qing Dynasty,Beijing went into the development stage of absorbing western leisure culture.The park and Beijing Zoo were opened as public leisure space,which became an important historical events in the leisure development history of Beijing.

Abstract:The government of Dushan County advocates and hosts the Art Festivals of Huadeng Opera in recent years, which improves the development of Dushan economy and inheritance of Dushan Huadeng Opera. The holding of the Art Festival of Huadeng Opera plays a leading part in forming the pleasant tendency of folk inheritance, scholar research, expert creation and professional performance led by the government for the inheritance of Dushan Huadeng Opera. The problems of the inheritance are concerning how to integrate the social resources, and how to construct and perfect the inheriting system in which the folk culture can play the role to inheritance spontaneously, Cultural Bureaus (Centres) and Huadeng Opera teams can lead the stream with the participation of the characteristic classes in elementary education and colleges. As a result, the art of Huadeng Opera will sparkle with the artistic splendor.

Abstract:The text probes into the court verdict that less involved by the researcher of the literat ure history, combine the relevant historical datas. Tang Dynasty is the prosperous period for the court verdict , in the author's opinion. Combining Tang Dynasty's social historical situation, expound this fact in detail further. In the end, this text makes a conclusion that Tang Dynasty's system of selecting officers that paying more attention to the writing of court verdict and the culture prevailing custom facilitated the materity of the court verdict itself directly.

Abstract:The hotels in the Han Dynasty had been greatly developed on the basis of those in the pre-Qin and Qin Dynasty.The hotels in the Han Dynasty are made up of official hotels and private hotels.The official hotels are divided into three kinds: di,chuanshe,and tingchuan.They consist of residences for high officials,which are located in the capital city and are used to treat princes and the leaders of minorities and foreign countries.They also offered services to different kinds of officials as well as the ordinary people occasionally.The three kinds of hotels are not the commercial public facilities,but they are closely related to the current administrative institution.The officials from different departments are in charge of these hotels,which formulated various management institutions.The management of hotels paves the ways for hotel institutions in feudal society.Private hotels in the Han Dynasty,though existing in the West Han Dynasty,have greatly developed during the East Han.They are commercial serving systems,which can feed the needs of people's outgoing.The increasing number of private hotels reflects the rapid development of floating population and the prospect of industry and business.
