Abstract:The relationship between complete convergence and convergence in norm is almost a uniform convergence of fathomable functional sequence in Lp space.A necessary and suffcient condition of functional sequence is given when the convergence in norm is equivalent to the complete convergence of its subsequence of the functions.

Abstract:A characterization of unconditional convergent series is given for the case of sequentially complete locally convex spaces. From it we show that if E is a barrelled space with continuous dual E', then (E', beta(E', E)) contains no copy of (c(0), parallel to.parallel to(infinity)) if and only if every continuous linear operator T : E --> l(1) is both compact and sequentially compact.

Abstract:We characterize a nonlinear full invariant of compact Banach-space maps: Let ( X , ‖.‖) and ( Y , ‖.‖) be two Banach spaces and P C ( X , Y ) be all compact maps which map ( X , ‖.‖) to ( Y , ‖.‖). Then each weak operator-topology subseries-convergent series ∑ i P i in P c ( X , Y ) is also uniform-topology subseries-convergent iff each bounded map from ( X , ‖.‖) to ( l 1 , ‖.‖ 1 ) is a compact map. Abstract:The bounded linear regularity property plays a key role in the study of the strong convergence and/or convergence rate of the CQ algorithm for solving split feasibility problems. To establish some sufficient conditions ensuring the bounded linear regularity property for split feasibility problems in normed linear spaces, we introduce the notion of a relative regularity condition and its associated relative regularity constant in spirit of the regularity condition used in Burke and Ferris (1995) [12]. Based on convex analysis techniques, we explore equivalent characterizations of the relative regularity condition, which in particular extend the classical results in Burke and Ferris (1995) [12] from the Euclidean space to general normed linear spaces, and then establish some important and useful properties in terms of the related relative regularity constant. Consequently, we develop a new technique to establish some sufficient conditions ensuring the bounded linear regularity property for split feasibility problems in normed linear spaces. The sufficient conditions presented in this paper are in terms of the relative regularity constant, which seem completely new. Applied to the case of Hilbert spaces, our results extend and improve the corresponding ones in Wang et al. (2017) [35] by relaxing the relevant assumptions.(c) 2023 Elsevier Inc. Abstract:In some complex systems, the randomness and uncertainty phenomena may arise simultaneously, which inspires us to develop the uncertain random variable in chance space. Based on the chance theory, we propose the concept of complete convergence and investigate the relations among the existing common types of convergence including convergence almost surely, convergence in measure, convergence in distribution and convergence in mean. All of the relations are illustrated via the corresponding examples or counterexamples. Additionally, we give an equivalent condition and a sufficient condition of convergence completely for uncertain random variables and provide an example to explain the conditions.

Abstract:We consider sequences of operators $U_n:L^1(X)\to M(X)$, where $X$ is a space of homogeneous type. Under certain conditions on the operators $U_n$ we give a complete characterization of convergence (divergence) sets of functional sequences $U_n(f)$, where $f\in L^p(X)$, $1\le p\le \infty$. The results are applied to characterize convergence sets of some specific operator sequences in classical analysis.

Abstract:Let {Xn;n ≥ 1} be a sequence of independent random variables on a probability space (Ω,F,P) and $${S_n} = \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{X_k}} $$. It is well-known that the almost sure convergence, the convergence in probability and the convergence in distribution of Sn are equivalent. In this paper, we prove similar results for the independent random variables under the sub-linear expectations, and give a group of sufficient and necessary conditions for these convergence. For proving the results, the Levy and Kolmogorov maximal inequalities for independent random variables under the sub-linear expectation are established. As an application of the maximal inequalities, the sufficient and necessary conditions for the central limit theorem of independent and identically distributed random variables are also obtained.

This characterization motivates the introduction of a new notion of convergence, called “p-convergence in measure” (p > 0), which is stronger than convergence in measure. We prove the existence of “minimal” elements in c0 which characterize the convergence in measure of (fn)n to f.

Abstract:Certain notions of convergence of sequences of functions such as convergence pointwise, uniform and parts (compact sets or bounded sets) come from suitable topological functional spaces [1]. Under certain conditions these topologies involved are metrizable, which in an advantage since there is an extensive theory on convergence in metric spaces. However, the case of pointwise convergence is delicate, since it is shown that under certain hypothesis this form of convergence of sequences of functions is not equivalent to convergence in metric.

Abstract:This note develops Rio's proof [C. R. Math. Acad. Sci. Paris, 1995] of the rate of convergence in the Marcinkiewicz--Zygmund strong law of large numbers to the case of sums of dependent random variables with regularly varying normalizing constants. It allows us to obtain a complete convergence result for dependent sequences under uniformly bounded moment conditions. This result is new even when the underlying random variables are independent. The main theorems are applied to three different dependence structures: (i) $m$-pairwise negatively dependent random variables, (ii) $m$-extended negatively dependent random variables, and (iii) $\varphi$-mixing sequences. To our best knowledge, the results for cases (i) and (ii) are the first results in the literature on complete convergence for sequences of $m$-pairwise negatively dependent random variables and $m$-extended negatively dependent random variables under the optimal moment conditions even when $m=1$. While the results for cases (i) and (iii) unify and improve many existing ones, the result for case (ii) complements the main result of Chen et al. [J. Appl. Probab., 2010]. Affirmative answers to open questions raised by Chen et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl., 2014] and Wu and Rosalsky [Glas. Mat. Ser. III, 2015] are also given. An example illustrating the sharpness of the main result is presented.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concept of strongly order continuity of a set function, and use it to investigate the convergence of measurable functions sequence and of integral sequence on fuzzy measure space. Several equivalent conditions of strongly order continuity are presented. It is shown that a necessary and sufficient condition that Lebesgue's theorem remains valid for a monotone set function is that the set function possesses strongly order continuity.
