As an approach to this problem, we prove that, for a perfect GO-space X, Xhas a perfect linearly ordered extension if and only if there is a σ-discrete subset F such that GOX(∅, X − F, F, ∅) is perfect, where GOX(∅, X − F, F, ∅) is the ordered set X with the topology defined so that every point in F is isolated and every point in X − F has the usual interval neighborhood base.

Abstract:We investigate the space complexity of certain perfect matching problems over bipartite graphs embedded on surfaces of constant genus (orientable or non-orientable). We show that the problems of deciding whether such graphs have (1) a perfect matching or not and (2) a unique perfect matching or not, are in the logspace complexity class \SPL. Since \SPL\ is contained in the logspace counting classes $\oplusŁ$ (in fact in \modk\ for all $k\geq 2$), \CeqL, and \PL, our upper bound places the above-mentioned matching problems in these counting classes as well. We also show that the search version, computing a perfect matching, for this class of graphs is in $\FL^{\SPL}$. Our results extend the same upper bounds for these problems over bipartite planar graphs known earlier. As our main technical result, we design a logspace computable and polynomially bounded weight function which isolates a minimum weight perfect matching in bipartite graphs embedded on surfaces of constant genus. We use results from algebraic topology for proving the correctness of the weight function.

Abstract:This paper is a subsequent paper of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2303.07672" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.07672">arXiv:2303.07672</a>. We will continue our research on the subject of perfect algebraic spaces that is developed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2303.07672" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.07672">arXiv:2303.07672</a>. By means of algebraic Frobenius morphisms, we define the perfection of arbitrary algebraic spaces of prime characteristic. There is a natural perfection functors on algebraic spaces. We prove several desired properties of the perfection functor. This extends nearly all previous results of the perfection functor on schemes, including the recent ones developed by Bertapelle et al. in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1611.02060" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1611.02060">arXiv:1611.02060</a>. Moreover, our theory extends the previous one developed by Xinwen Zhu in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1707.05700v1" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1707.05700v1">arXiv:1707.05700v1</a>, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1407.8519" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1407.8519">arXiv:1407.8519</a>. The perfection functor rises the notion of perfection of sites, which enables us to restate some of Zhu's theory in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1707.05700v1" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1707.05700v1">arXiv:1707.05700v1</a>. Then we show that our theory of perfect algebraic spaces in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2303.07672" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.07672">arXiv:2303.07672</a> is equivalent to Zhu's theory in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1707.05700v1" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1707.05700v1">arXiv:1707.05700v1</a> when the base scheme is a perfect field of prime characteristic.

Abstract:We develop a theory of perfect algebraic spaces that extend the so-called perfect schemes to the setting of algebraic spaces. We prove several desired properties of perfect algebraic spaces. This extends some previous results of perfect schemes, including the recent one developed by Bertapelle et al. in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1611.02060" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1611.02060">arXiv:1611.02060</a>. Moreover, our theory extends the previous one developed by Xinwen Zhu in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1407.8519" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1407.8519">arXiv:1407.8519</a>. The perfect morphisms will provide equivalent descriptions to perfect algebraic spaces. Our method to define perfect algebraic spaces differs from all previous approaches, as we utilize representability of functors. There is a natural notion of algebraic Frobenius morphisms of algebraic spaces, which is analogous to the absolute Frobenius morphisms of schemes. In terms of algebraic Frobenius morphisms, one can define perfection of an algebraic space.

Abstract:The combinatorial Mandelbrot set is a continuum in the plane, whose boundary is defined as the quotient space of the unit circle by an explicit equivalence relation. This equivalence relation was described by Douady (1984) and, separately, by Thurston (1985) who used quadratic invariant geolaminations as a major tool. We showed earlier that the combinatorial Mandelbrot set can be interpreted as a quotient of the space of all limit quadratic invariant geolaminations with the Hausdorff distance topology. In this paper, we describe two similar quotients. In the first case, the identifications are the same but the space is smaller than that used for the Mandelbrot set. The resulting quotient space is obtained from the Mandelbrot set by ıpinching" the transitions between adjacent hyperbolic components. In the second case we identify renormalizable geolaminations that can be ırenormalized" to the same hyperbolic geolamination while no two non-renormalizable geolaminations are identified.

Abstract:In this paper, the class of all linearly ordered topological spaces (LOTS) quasi-ordered by the embeddability relation is investigated. In ZFC it is proved that for countable LOTS this quasi-order has both a maximal (universal) element and a finite basis. For the class of uncountable LOTS of cardinality $\kappa$ it is proved that this quasi-order has no maximal element for $\kappa$ at least the size of the continuum and that in fact the dominating number for such quasi-orders is maximal, i.e. $2^\kappa$. Certain subclasses of LOTS, such as the separable LOTS, are studied with respect to the top and internal structure of their respective embedding quasi-order. The basis problem for uncountable LOTS is also considered; assuming the Proper Forcing Axiom there is an eleven element basis for the class of uncountable LOTS and a six element basis for the class of dense uncountable LOTS in which all points have countable cofinality and coinitiality.

Abstract:We construct perfect t-embeddings for regular hexagons of the hexagonal lattice, providing the first example, and hence proving existence, for graphs with an outer face of degree greater than four. The construction is in terms of the inverse Kasteleyn matrix and relies only on symmetries of the graph. Using known formulas for the inverse Kasteleyn matrix, we derive exact contour integral formulas for these embeddings and their origami maps. Through steepest descent analysis, we establish scaling limits, proving convergence of origami maps to a maximal surface in the Minkowski space $\mathbb{R}^{2,1}$, and we verify structural rigidity conditions, leading to a new proof of convergence of height fluctuations to the Gaussian free field.

By means of the addition theorem and the theory of remainders,the following properties are established: (1)if an s-space X is the union of a countable family of metrizable subspaces,then X is sequential;(2)if G is a non-locally compact topological group with a compactification bG such that Y =bG\G is hereditarily an s-space, then either G is separable and metrizable, or G is σ-compact, which generalize and improve some results about s-spaces by Arhangel'skii.

Abstract:A space X is said to be monotonically Lindelöf if for any open cover U of X, there exists a countable open cover rU such that rU refines U and if an open cover V of X refines U, then rV refines rU. Gruenhage shows that every Lindelöf first-countable GO-space is monotonically Lindelöf. In the paper we obtain the following result: A Lindelöf GO-space X is monotonically Lindelöf if and only if X has no subspace homeomorphic to a stationary subset of a regular ordinal ⩾ω1; the closure of the set of all points with character ω1 is monotonically Lindelöf.

Abstract:Recently H. Bennett and D. Lutzer proved a result on linearly ordered extensions of quarter-stratifiable GO-spaces which says that for a GO-space X,the statement that X is quarter-stratifiable and the linearly ordered extension of X is perfect is equivalent to that X is quarter-stratifiable,to that X is metrizable and to that X is metrizable.In this paper,we generabize Bennett and Lutzer's result and obtain the similiar result about compact semi-stratifiable ordered extension of GO-space.

Abstract:The authors' primary goal in this paper is to enhance the study of topological spaces by using the order of specialization of a -space to introduce the lower topology (with a subbasis of closed sets ) and studying the interaction of the original topology and the lower topology. Using the lower topology, one can define and study new properties of the original space that provide deeper insight into its structure. One focus of study is the property R, which asserts that if the intersection of a family of finitely generated sets , finite, is contained in an open set , then the same is true for finitely many of the family. We first show that property R is equivalent to several other interesting properties, for example, the property that all closed subsets of the original space are compact in the lower topology. We then find conditions under which these spaces are compact, well-filtered, and coherent, a weaker variant of stably compact spaces. We also investigate what have been called strong -spaces, develop some of their basic properties, and make connections with the earlier considerations involving spaces satisfying property R. Two key results we obtain are that if a dcpo with the Scott topology is a strong -space, then it is well-filtered, and if additionally the Scott topology of the product is the product of the Scott topologies of the factors, then the Scott space of is sober. We also exhibit connections of this work with de Groot duality.

Abstract:It is shown that every non-compact hyperbolic manifold of finite volume has a finite cover admitting a geodesic ideal triangulation. Also, every hy-perbolic manifold of finite volume with non-empty, totally geodesic boundary has a finite regular cover which has a geodesic partially truncated triangulation. The proofs use an extension of a result due to Long and Niblo concerning the separa-bility of peripheral subgroups. Epstein and Penner [2] used a convex hull construction in Lorentzian space to show that every non-compact hyperbolic manifold of finite volume has a canonical subdivision into convex geodesic polyhedra all of whose vertices lie on the sphere at infinity of hyperbolic space. In general, one cannot expect to further subdivide these polyhedra into ideal geodesic simplices such that the result is an ideal triangulation. That this is possible after lifting the cell decomposition to an appropriate finite cover is the first main result of this paper. A cell decomposition of a hyperbolic n–manifold into ideal geodesic n–simplices all of which are embedded will be referred to as an embedded geodesic ideal triangulation. Theorem 1 Any non-compact hyperbolic manifold of finite volume has a finite regular cover which admits an embedded geodesic ideal triangulation. The study of geodesic ideal triangulations of hyperbolic 3–manifolds goes back to Thurston [11]. They are known to have nice properties through, for instance, work by Neumann and Zagier [8] and Choi [1]. Petronio and Porti [9] discuss the question of whether every non-compact hyperbolic 3–manifold of finite volume has a geodesic ideal triangulation — this question still remains unanswered. Kojima [5] extended the construction by Epstein and Penner to obtain a canonical decomposition into partially truncated polyhedra of any hyperbolic manifold with totally geodesic boundary components. A cell decomposition of a hyperbolic n–manifold with totally geodesic boundary into geodesic partially truncated n–simplices all of which are embedded will be referred to as an embedded geodesic partially truncated triangulation. Theorem 2 Any finite-volume hyperbolic manifold with non-empty, totally geodesic boundary has a finite regular cover which admits an embedded geodesic partially truncated triangulation. An ideal polyhedron will be viewed as a special instance of a partially truncated one, which allows a unified proof of Theorems 1 and 2. Abstract:We initiate a systematic study of the perfection of affine group schemes of finite type over fields of positive characteristic. The main result intrinsically characterises and classifies the perfections of reductive groups and obtains a bijection with the set of classifying spaces of compact connected Lie groups topologically localised away from the characteristic. We also study the representations of perfectly reductive groups. We establish a highest weight classification of simple modules, the decomposition into blocks, and relate extension groups to those of the underlying abstract group.

Abstract:In the first part of this article we give some sufficient conditions under which a bounded set in a topological space (paratopological group) X is strongly bounded in X (p-bounded in X for every p is an element of omega*). We show that if X is a first-countable topological space, then every bounded subset of X is strongly bounded in X. If G is a paratopological group and for every U is an element of N(e) there exists a continuous homomorphism PU: G -> H-U onto a first-countable Hausdorff paratopological group H-U such that p(U)(-1) ((V-U) over bar) subset of (U) over bar for some neighborhood V-U of the neutral element of H-U, then any bounded set in G is strongly bounded in G. We also give some sufficient conditions under which a semitopological group G satisfies that for any U is an element of N(e) there exists a continuous homomorphism p(U): G -> H-U onto a first-countable Hausdorff semitopological group H-U such that p(U)(-1) ((V-U) over bar) subset of (U) over bar for some neighborhood V-U of the neutral element of H-U. In the last part of this note, we give some equivalent conditions for a bounded set in a Tychonoff topological space. We finally show that every pseudocompact submetacompact space is weakly Lindelof.
