Abstract:In this paper, the long time behavior of the dissipative generalized (2+1)-dimensional long–short wave equations was studied in dynamics. By applying projecting operator and the eigenvalue methods, the approximate inertial manifolds were constructed. And it is proved that arbitrary trajectory of the dissipative generalized (2+1)-dimensional long–short wave equations goes into a small neighborhood of the approximate inertial manifolds after long time.

Abstract:In this paper we study the fractal dimension of global attractors for a class of wave equations with (single-point) degenerate nonlocal damping. Both the equation and its linearization degenerate into linear wave equations at the degenerate point and the usual approaches to bound the dimension of the entirety of attractors do not work directly. Instead, we develop a new process concerning the dimension near the degenerate point individually and show the finite dimensionality of the attractor.

Abstract:In this short note, we consider the long-time behavior for the solution of weakly damped wave equation with lower regular forcing. The existence of a global attractor is obtained. To verify asymptotic compactness of the semigroup, we present a new method about decomposition of the solution and apply the Strichartz estimate to the wave equation according to the recent progress. Moreover, translational regularity of the attractor is established.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the singular limit dynamics of two wave equations connected in parallel when the spring coefficient α$$\alpha $$ tends to infinity. Firstly, we prove the existence, finiteness of fractal dimension and smoothness of global attractors. We establishes that the singular limit of two wave equations connected in parallel is a single wave equation when α→+∞$$\alpha \rightarrow +\infty $$. We also prove of upper-semicontinuity of global attractors when α→+∞$$\alpha \rightarrow +\infty $$.

Abstract:n initial boundary value problem of the semilinear wave equation of which the source term f(x,u) is without variational structure in a bounded domain is considered. Firstly, we prove that it has a unique globally weak solution (u,u_t)∈ C^0([0,∞), H_0^1(Ω )× L^2(Ω)) by using our previous results (Pan et al. in Bound. Value Probl. 2012:42, 2012). Secondly, we obtain the existence of global attractors in H_0^1(Ω)× L^2(Ω) by using the ω -limit compactness condition (Ma et al. in Indiana Univ. Math. J. 5(6):1542-1558, 2002), rather than the traditional method.

Abstract:The global asymptotic behavior of solutions for the equations of large scale atmospheric motion with the non-stationary external forcing is studied in the infinite dimensional Hilbert space. Based on the properties of operators of the equations, some energy inequalities and the uniqueness theorem of solutions are obtained. On the assumption that external forces are bounded, the exsitence of the global absorbing set and the atmosphere attractor is proved, and the characteristics of the decay of effect of initial field and the adjustment to the external forcing are revealed. The physical sense of the results is discussed and some ideas about climatic numerical forecast are elucidated

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to investigate the existence and Hausdorff dimension as well as fractal dimension of global attractors for a delayed reaction-diffusion equation on an unbounded domain. The noncompactness of the domain causes the Laplace operator has a continuous spectrum, the semigroup generated by the linear part and the Sobolev embeddings are no longer compact, making the problem more difficult compared with the equations on bounded domains. We first obtain the existence of an absorbing set for the infinite dimensional dynamical system generated by the equation by a priori estimate of the solutions. Then, we show the asymptotic compactness of the solution semiflow by an uniform a priori estimates for far-field values of solutions together with the Arzelà-Ascoli theorem, which facilitates us to show the existence of global attractors. By decomposing the solution into three parts and establishing a squeezing property of each part, we obtain the explicit upper estimation of both Hausdorff and fractal dimension of the global attractors, which only depend on the inner characteristic of the equation, while not related to the entropy number compared with the existing literature.

Abstract:The main objective of this paper is to study the existence of a finite dimensional global attractor for the three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with nonlinear damping for r > 4. Motivated by the idea of [I], even though we can obtain the existence of a global attractor for r >= 2 by the multi-valued semiflow, it is very difficult to provide any information about its fractal dimension. Therefore, we prove the existence of a global attractor in H and provide the upper bound of its fractal dimension by the methods of l-trajectories in this paper.

Abstract:In this article, we consider the infinite dimensional vector-valued resonant nonlinear Schrodinger system, which arises from the study of the asymptotic behavior of the defocusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation on "wave guide" manifolds like $\mathbb{R}^2\times \mathbb{T}$ in [7]. We show global well-posedness and scattering for this system by long time Strichartz estimates and frequency localized interaction Morawetz estimates. As a by-product, our results make the arguments of scattering theory in [7] closed as crucial ingredients for compactness of the critical elements.

Abstract:This paper establishes the global existence of classical solution to the system of homogeneous, isotropic hyperelasticity with time-independent external force, provided that the nonlinear term obeys a type of null condition. The authors first prove the existence and uniqueness of the stationary solution. Then they show that the solution to the dynamical system converges to the stationary solution as time goes to infinity.
