Abstract:We are concerned with the well-posedness of the density-dependent incompressible viscoelastic fluid system. By Schauder-Tychonoff fixed point argument, when $\|{1}/{\rho_0}-1\|_{\dot{B}_{p,1}^{{N}/{p}}}$ is small, local well-posedness is showed to hold in Besov space. Furthermore, provided the initial data $(1/\rho_0 -1,\upsilon_0,U_0-I)$ is small under certain norm, we also get the existence of the global solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the local well-posedness of the viscous surface wave equation in low regularity Sobolev spaces. The key points are to establish several new Stokes estimates depending only on the optimal boundary regularity and to construct a new iteration scheme on a known moving domain. Our method could be applied to some other fluid models with free boundary.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of the inhomogeneous hyperdissipative Navier-Stokes equations on the whole space R-N, N >= 3. Compared with the classical inhomogeneous Navier-Stokes, the dissipative term -Delta u here is replaced by D(2)u, where D is a Fourier multiplier whose symbol is m(xi) = vertical bar xi vertical bar(N+2/4) For arbitrary small positive constants epsilon and delta, global well-posedness is showed for the data (rho(0), u(0)) such that (rho(0) - 1, u(0)) is an element of HN/2 + epsilon x H-delta with inf(x is an element of RN) rho(0) > 0. Abstract:In this paper, we establish the local-in-time well-posedness of classical solutions to the vacuum free boundary problem of the viscous Saint-Venant system for shallow water in two dimensions. The solutions are shown to possess higher-order regularities uniformly up to the vacuum free boundary, although the depth degenerates as a singularity of the distance to the vacuum boundary. Since the momentum equations degenerate in both the dissipation and time evolution, there are difficulties in constructing approximate solutions by the Galerkin's scheme and gaining higher-order regularities uniformly up to the vacuum boundary for the weak solution. To construct the approximate solutions, we introduce some degenerate-singular elliptic operator, whose eigenfunctions form an orthogonal basis of the projection space. Then the high-order regularities on the weak solution are obtained by using some carefully designed higher-order weighted energy functional.

Low regularity well-posedness for two dimensional deep gravity water waves with constant vorticity

Abstract:We consider the two dimensional gravity water waves with nonzero constant vorticity in infinite depth. We show that for $s\geq \frac{3}{4}$, the water waves system is locally well-posed in $\mathcal{H}^{s}$, which is the nonzero constant vorticity counterpart of the breakthrough work of Ai-Ifrim-Tataru in [4]. It is also a $\frac{1}{4}$ improvement in Sobolev regularity compared to the previous result of Ifrim-Tataru in [17].

Abstract:In this paper, we study the partial regularity of the solutions for the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations. We first prove a criterion of local Hölder continuous of the suitable weak solutions of the Boussinesq equations, and show that one-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the singular point set is zero. Secondly, we present a local uniform gradient estimate on the suitable weak solutions and assert that the local behavior of the solution can be dominated by some scaled quantities, such as the scaled local L3-norm of the velocity. Besides, when the initial data v0 and θ0 decay sufficiently rapidly at ∞, the distribution of the regular point set of the suitable weak solutions is also considered. Based on it, one can find that MHD equations are more similar to Navier–Stokes equations than Boussinesq equations. Finally, we give a local regularity criterion of the suitable weak solutions near the boundary.

Abstract:In this paper we study solitary traveling wave solutions to a damped shallow water system, which is in general quasilinear and of mixed type. We develop a small data well-posedness theory and prove that traveling wave solutions are a generic phenomenon that persist with and without viscosity or surface tension and for all nontrivial traveling wave speeds, even when the parameters dictate that the equations are hyperbolic and have a sound speed. This theory is developed by way of a Nash-Moser implicit function theorem, which allows us to prove strong norm continuity of solutions with respect to the data as well as the parameters, even in the vanishing limits of viscosity and surface tension.

Using the decomposition of Littlewood-Paley and the properties of nonhomogeneous Besov space, we establish the well-posedness of short time solutions for the equation in the Besov space. Abstract:By using the paralinearization technique, we prove the well-posedness of the Prandtl equation for monotonic data in anisotropic Sobolev space with exponential weight and low regularity. The proof is very elementary, thus is expected to provide a new possible way for the zero-viscosity limit problem of the Navier–Stokes equations with the non-slip boundary condition.

Abstract:The study of gravity-capillary water waves in two space dimensions has been an important question in mathematical fluid dynamics. By implementing the cubic modified energy method of Ifrim-Tataru in the context of gravity-capillary waves, we show that for $s> 1$, the two-dimensional gravity-capillary water wave system is locally well-posed in $\mathcal{H}^{s}$.

Abstract:We consider 3D compressible isentropic Euler equations describing the motion of a liquid in an unbounded initial domain with a moving boundary and a fixed flat bottom at finite depth. The liquid is under the influence of gravity and surface tension and it is not assumed to be irrotational. We prove local well-posedness by combining a carefully designed approximate system and a hyperbolic approach which allows us to avoid using Nash-Moser iteration. The energy estimates yield no regularity loss and are uniform in Mach number, and they are uniform in surface tension coefficient under the Rayleigh-Taylor sign condition. We thus simultaneously obtain incompressible and zero surface tension limits. Moreover, we can drop the uniform boundedness (with respect to Mach number) on high-order time derivatives by applying the paradifferential calculus to the analysis of the free-surface evolution.
