Abstract:With increasing awareness of the importance of thermal comfort, occupants, even those living in a mild climate, show rising demand for space heating. The question remains which heating system has a better environmental performance when it is utilized to meet moderate heating need. This paper presents a comparison of distributed and centralized heating systems with respect to the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions. The heating systems are sized for a typical apartment in Hangzhou, China, where daily average low temperature is above 0°C. Results show that air-source heat pump renders lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to centralized heating.

Abstract:Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is confronted with serious ecological environment situation in recent years.The large-area non-point air pollution without any environmental protection is serious,and the typical pollution source is bulk coal burning.Due to the closely relation between energy and environment,the problem of rural heating in winter should draw more attention and be solved.Therefore,it is urgent to promote clean heating technologies in order to improve the ecological environment situation.The comparative analysis of the typical clean heating technologies(including natural gas,electric heating,air-source heat pump,ground-source heat pump) are conducted by the factors consisting of performance advantages,disadvantages,environmental benefits,reconstruction and operation cost.Moreover,the feasibility conditions and development proposals are presented for better technology application combining with local conditions in this paper.

Abstract:Presents the field measurement results of the operational performance of water distribution networks in eight heat pump systems for centralized space heating in cold regions of North China.The results show that heat consumption amount during the heating season generally exceeds the reasonable demand.A thorough measurement and analysis shows that the main causes of the higher heating consumption are heat distribution loss,hydraulic imbalance and building envelope heat loss,and the first two causes are common in the centralized space heating systems and hard to be solved.Suggests to adopt a distributed space heating system using heat pump as the heat source.

Abstract:The different domestic hot-water systems in student villages of Zhejiang University were analyzed.The heat emission per capita was calculated and compared with the measured result.The reason for the difference between the both was analyzed.The difference in heat emission of different domestic hot-water systems was summarized.The comparison between the heat emission and heat consumption was made.It is concluded that a pipe network with surface area per capita will not operate well because of a larger heat emission.

Abstract:In modern high-capacity utility boilers, superheaters and reheaters are the key components. A tube panel of superheater or reheater consists of a number of tube loops. The reliability of boiler operation relies on the wall metallic temperature of these tube loops. Many factors result in the outlet steam temperature of some tube loops greatly overstepping the mean temperature. This often leads the metallic temperature of these tubes exceeds their safety limit. Recently, not only in domestic high-capacity boilers but also in imported boilers, the overheating accidents frequently take place in China, and some power plants are forced to operate in low parameter. In this paper, the causes of local overheating of superheaters and reheaters are analyzed, and then the diagnostic method is presented, which is composed of three parts as follows: the numerical simulation of three-dimension two-phase flow, heat transfer and combustion in furnace, the calculation of steam flow distribution in superheater or reheater header system, the computation of steam temperature deviation and metallic temperature of tubes in a tube panel. Taking two boilers as example, the diagnosis processes and some improvement countermeasures are presented. The improvement result shows that these countermeasures are feasible and reasonable.

Abstract:Energy consumption of building heating approximately accounts for thirty percent of it of national economy. The building energy conservation is imperative, and heating system design is the head of heating system energy conservation. To achieve the purpose of energy conservation, the paper analyses existing problems in heating system design at present. Combining with heating system design of boiler house, thermal net and monomeric building, the paper put forward relevant energy conservation measures. For example, boiler house adopts automatic control energy conservation new technique, thermal net adopts utilidor direct?buried technique, and monomeric building should precedently adopt two pipe system, automaticly control room temperature. The paper also suggest revising outdoor calculating temperature for current heating.

Abstract:With increasing concern for building energy efficiency, domestic hot water (DHW) supply systems, which have significant energy-saving potential, have drawn more attention from both practitioners and academia. In this study, we conducted a field study on seven centralized hot water supply systems in Beijing, measuring the water temperature and flow rate in primary or secondary pipes and collecting the operating records of hot water usage, gas consumption, and electricity consumption. In addition, we discuss the main problems existing in the current centralized DHW system. Based on measured data, this paper further analyzes energy losses from each link in the hot water supply system. A mathematical model is then proposed for simulating the energy consumption of hot water supply systems under various conditions such as various boiler efficiency, thermal insulation thickness, water pipe network structure, and hot water usage. The model is also used to explore the main factors that lead to low performance of centralized DHW systems in China. Finally, we analyze the applicability of diverse heat sources (e.g., electricity, gas, and heat pumps) in centralized DHW systems in China.
