Abstract:For a compactly supported symmetric and antisymmetric orthogonal multiscaling function,we present an appoach for constructing symmetric and antisymmetric compactly supported orthogonal multiwavelets.Multiwavelets costructed by our method have the same symmetriy and antisymmetriy as multiscaling function and we give examples.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a general method to construct symmetric multiwavelets from given symmetric multiscaling functions with support [0,2L], and their corresponding lowpass and highpass filters have the same odd length 2L+ 1. Firstly, by several transforms, this problem can be reduced to the design of the filters with the length 2L starting from given filters with the length 2L. Secondly, applying the paraunitary extension of matrix and parameterizatian, we obtain the filters with these length 2L. Lastly, by the corresponding inverse transforms, the highpass filters with the length 2L + 1 can be derived. Furthermore, we design a more efficient algorithm constructing orthogonal multiwavelets with support [0, 2L]. By our algorithm, Chui-Lian multiwavelet with support [ 0, 2] is recovered easily.

Abstract:For compactly supported m-band (m greater than or equal to 2, m is an element of Z) orthonormal multiwavelet systems, an algorithm to construct compactly supported orthogonal multiwavelets from the associated multi-scaling functions is presented in this paper. This method is simple for computation, does not need to solve a set of nonlinear equations in unknown matrices or factorize a polynomial matrix into a special form, and is not restrained by the multiplicity of multiwavelets. It only needs to solve some linear equations and compute some matrices. As an example, the GHM multiwavelets are derived via this method.

Abstract:Multiwavelets have orthogonality, compacted support, and symmetry simultaneously; these properties are very important for signal processing. However, most of multiwavelets require related prefilters. An approach to construction of a symmetry/antisymmetry orthogonal filter is proposed and the corresponding balanced filter is constructed, no any prefilter is necessary. Experimental results show its performance to be superior to DGHM and CL multiwavelets, closer to or higher than Bi9/7.

Abstract:In this paper, first we introduce vector-valued multiresolution analysis with dilation factor α⩾2 and orthogonal vector-valued wavelet. A necessary and sufficient condition on the existence of orthogonal vector-valued wavelet is derived. Then, for a given L-length compactly supported orthogonal vector-valued wavelet system, by virtue of an s×s orthogonal real matrix M and an s×s symmetry idempotent real matrix H where M(Is−H+He−iη) is a unitary matrix for each η∈R, we construct (L+1)-length compactly supported orthogonal vector-valued wavelet system. Our method is of flexibility and easy to carry out. Finally, as an application we give an example.

Abstract:Biorthogonal multiple wavelets are generated from refinable function vectors by using the multiresolution analysis. In this paper we provide a general method for the construction of compactly supported biorthogonal multiple wavelets by refinable function vectors which are the solutions of vector refinement equations of the form φ (x) = ∑_α∈ℤ^s a(α )φ (Mx - α ), x ∈ℝ^s , where the vector of functions ϕ = ( ϕ 1 , …, ϕ r ) T is in (L_2 (ℝ^s ))^r ,a = :(a(α ))_α∈ℤ^s is a finitely supported sequence of r × r matrices called the refinement mask, and M is an s × s integer matrix such that lim n →∞ M − n = 0. Our characterizations are in the general setting and the main results of this paper are the real extensions of some known results.

Abstract:The derivatives of multivariate vector scaling function with Compact Support is proved to be refinable one in [1], and its refinable coefficients denoted by Kronecker product of matrices. In view of this, the paper applies the elementary property of the Kronecker product, and uses the technique similar to [2], to give a general construction for the orthogonal multi-wavelets of the derivative function, at the same time, obtains the simply computational algorithm. Lastly we present an example to show how construct wavelets of derivatives of multi-scaling refinable function.

Abstract:Orthogonal multiwavelets have become powerful tool of signal processing. In this paper, we devote to study constructing orthogonal multiwavelet with multiplicity 2r and high vanishing moment associated with the special matrices. First we derive the related scaling function with high order of sum rules by employing CBC algorithm. Further, we obtain the orthogonal multiwavelet on [-1,1] with desirable properties such as symmetry and anti-symmetry and high vanishing moment. The method is simple and can be implemented efficiently.

Abstract:In this paper, a method is developed for constructing compactly supported trivariate orthogonal wavelets from univariate orthogonal wavelets, essential idea of the approach is permutation of conjugate quadrature filter. Abstract:A method for constructing bivariate nonseparable compactly supported orthogonal scaling functions, and the corresponding wavelets, using the dilation matrix M := 2(n)I = 2(n) [(1 0)(0 1)], (d = detM = 2(2n) > 4, n is an element of N) is given. The accuracy and smoothness of the scaling functions are studied, thus showing that they have the same accuracy order as the univariate Daubechies low-pass filter m(0)(omega), to be used in our method. There follows that the wavelets can be made arbitrarily smooth by properly choosing the accuracy parameter r.

In this paper, we first show how to derive even-length biorthogonal lowpass filter pair from odd-length biorthogonal multiwavelet system with such properties as symmetry-antisymmetry and compactly support. So based on this, odd-length biorthogonal multiwavelet system can be constructed.

Abstract:We first introduce trivariate multiresolution analysis and trivariate orthogonal wavlets. We then give a method for constructing a class of trivariate nonseparable compactly supported orthogonal scaling functions and the related wavelets.
