Abstract:The title complex, [Cu3(C9H8BrNO4S)2(C7H4BrO2)2(C10H8N2)2]·H2O, lies on an inversion center located on the central Cu atom, which is four-coordinated in a square-planar geometry, whereas the outer Cu atoms related by symmetry are five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The trinuclear mol-ecules, with an intramolecular Cu⋯Cu separation of 6.313 (3) Å, are linked to each other, forming a chain through O - H⋯O and O - H⋯Br hydrogen bonds involving the half-occupied water mol-ecule. Futhermore, weak C - H⋯O inter-actions link the chains to form a supra-molecular network.

Abstract:The title complex, [Pt(C12H8N2)2](C7H5O5S)2·2H2O, consists of a complex cation [Pt(1,10-phen)2]2+ (1,10-phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), two 3-sulfobenzoate anions and two lattice water molecules. In the crystal, anions and water molecules form hydrogen-bonded centrosymmetric dimers. In addition, π–π interactions are observed between 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and 3-sulfobenzoate anions.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cu(C8H7O2)2(C12H8N2)], the CuII atom is located on a twofold axis and assumes a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, formed by a phenanthroline molecule and two methylbenzoate anions, all in chelating mode. The carboxylate group chelates to the CuII atom with greatly differing Cu—O distances, viz. 2.5923 (19) A in the axial direction and 1.9435 (14) A in the equatorial plane.

Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], the Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is chelated by two oxidopyridiniumcarboxyl-ate anions and further cis-coordinated by two imidazole ligands in a distorted cis-N(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. The C-O bond distance of 1.2573 (19) Å found for the non-coordinating O atom of the carboxyl-ate group indicates significant delocalization of π-electron density over this residue. Similarly, the C-O bond distance of 1.260 (2) Å in the heteroaromatic ring indicates delocalization between the deprotonated hydr-oxy group and the pyridinium ring. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atom links with the imidazole and pyridinium rings of adjacent mol-ecules via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, leading to a two-dimensional array parallel to (100).

Abstract:The title compound, [Ni(NCS)(C6H6N4S2)(CH4O)]Cl, consists of an Ni-II complex cation and a Cl- anion. The Ni-II complex has an octahedral coordination, with the isothiocyanate and methanol ligands in cis positions. The diaminobithiazole ligands are each nearly planar, but the Ni-II atom is out of the planes of the thiazole rings, the deviations ranging from 0.113 (5) to 0.389 (4) Angstrom.

Abstract:In the mol-ecule of the title Co(II) complex, [Co(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], the Co(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and chelated by two oxidopyridiniumcarboxyl-ate anions and further cis-coordinated by two imidazole ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The shorter C-O bond distance of 1.260 (2) Å suggests electron delocalization between the oxido group and the pyridinium ring. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atom links with the imidazole and pyridinium rings of adjacent mol-ecules via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The Schiff base ligand in the title complex, [Pt(C9H8BrN2S2)2], is deprotonated from its tautomeric thiol form and coordinated to PtII via the mercapto S and β–N atoms. The configuration about PtII is a perfect square-planar, with two equivalent Pt—N [2.023 (3) Å] and Pt—S [2.293 (1) Å] bonds. The phenyl ring is twisted against the coordination moiety Pt1/N1/N1′/S2′/S2 by 31.8 (2)°, due to the steric hindrance induced by ortho-substituted bulky Br atom.

Abstract:In the structure of the title compound, [Pd(C5H4NOS)2], the Pd atom is coordinated by a slightly distorted planar array of two S and two O atoms; the two 1-hydroxy-2(1H)-pyridinethione ligands adopt a cis configuration. Intermolecular Pd⋯Pd and Pd⋯S interactions of 4.05 and 3.80 A, respectively, are observed in the structure.

Abstract:In the title ionic compound, [Pt(C(17)H(23))(C(34)H(33)P(3))](BF(4))·2CH(2)Cl(2), the Pt(II) atom adopts a square-planar coordination geometry with the large (Z)-8-mesityl-cyclo-oct-4-en-1-yl group occupying the fourth coordination site. The (triphos)Pt moiety and the mesityl group are attached to the cyclo-oct-4-ene motif at the 1- and 8-position in a syn configuration. The (BF(4))(-) anion and one of the dichloromethane solvate molecules each are disordered over two sets of sites.
Synthesis and Biological Activity of Binuclear Platinum Complexes Containing Two Monofunctional Cis-[Pt(Nh3)(2)Cl](+) Units Bridged by 4,4 '-Dipyridyl Selenides or Sulfides

Abstract:The synthesis of four binuclear platinum complexes of general formula ¿cis-[Pt(NH3)2Cl]2(L)¿ (NO3)2 [L is 4,4'-dipyridyl sulfide (compound I), 4,4'-dipyridyl selenide (compound II), bis(3-methyl-4-pyridyl) sulfide (compound III) or bis(3-methyl-4-pyridyl) selenide (compound IV)] has been achieved. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and 195Pt-NMR spectroscopy. The above dinuclear platinum complexes have been assayed for antitumor activity in vitro against the cisplatin-sensitive L1210 (the mice leukemia) and cisplatin-insensitive HCT8 (the human coloadenocarcinoma) cell lines. The compounds show IC50 values comparable to or higher than cisplatin against L1210 cell line; however, they have lower IC50 values than cisplatin against the cisplatin-insensitive HCT8 cell line. The complexes containing S exhibit a cytotoxicity against the two cancer cell lines superior to the Se analogues. DNA binding studies indicate the compound I possibly interacts with DNA nonintercalatively. The mode of DNA binding of the dinuclear Pt(II) complexes bridged by 4,4'-dipyridyl selenides or sulfides may be different to that of the aliphatic diaminebridged dinuclear Pt(II) complexes reported previously.
