Abstract:A space X is said to be monotonically Lindelöf if for any open cover U of X, there exists a countable open cover rU such that rU refines U and if an open cover V of X refines U, then rV refines rU. Gruenhage shows that every Lindelöf first-countable GO-space is monotonically Lindelöf. In the paper we obtain the following result: A Lindelöf GO-space X is monotonically Lindelöf if and only if X has no subspace homeomorphic to a stationary subset of a regular ordinal ⩾ω1; the closure of the set of all points with character ω1 is monotonically Lindelöf.

In addition, we construct nonseparable monotonically Lindelof spaces using the Bernstein set, which generalizes Corollary 4 of Levy and Matveev ['Some more examples of monotonically Lindelof and not monotonically Lindelof spaces', Topology Appl. 154 (2007), 2333-2343].

Abstract:A topological space (X, tau) is a D-space if for every function phi: X -> tau with x is an element of phi(x) for each x is an element of X, {phi(x) : x is an element of F} covers X for some closed discrete subset F of X. The Michael line M, one of the most important elementary examples in general topology, is the Euclidean space IR isolating the irrationals. In this note we show that (1) the minimal dense linearly ordered extension of M is hereditarily paracompact, but not monotonically D; (2) the minimal closed linearly ordered extension of M is monotonically D; (3) if the space X is a D-space (resp., a monotone D-space), then so is its Alexandroff duplicate space A(X) and thus A(M) is monotonically D.

Abstract:For any generalized ordered space X with the underlying linearly ordered topological space X(u), let X* be the minimal closed linearly ordered extension of X and X be the minimal dense linearly ordered extension of X. The following results are obtained.(1) The projection mapping pi : X* -> X, pi(< x, i >) = x, is closed.(2) The projection mapping phi : (X) over tilde -> X(u), phi(< x, i >) = x, is closed.(3) X* is a monotone D-space if and only if X is a monotone D-space.(4) (X) over tilde is a monotone D-space if and only if X(u) is a monotone D-space.(5) For the Michael line M, (M) over tilde is a paracompact p-space, but not continuously Urysohn.

Abstract:If X is a hereditarily metacompact ω -scattered space and X has a σ - NSR pair-base at every point of X , then X has a σ - NSR pair-base. If X is a hereditarily meta-Lindelöf ω -scattered space and X has a σ - NSR pair-base at every point of X , then X has property ( σ -A). If X is a hereditarily meta-Lindelöf GO-space such that every condensation set of X has property ( σ -A), then X has property ( σ -A). We point out that there is a gap in the proof of Lemma 37 in [18] . We give a detailed proof for the result. We finally show that if (X,τ,<) is a GO-space and X(n) has property (A) for some n∈N , then X has property (A), where X(0)=X , X(i+1)={x∈X(i):x is not an isolated point of X(i)} for each i . If X is a hereditarily meta-Lindelöf ω -scattered GO-space, then X has a σ - NSR pair-base and Xω is hereditarily a D -space.

Abstract:We study the definable topological dynamics (G(M),SG(M)) of a definable group acting on its type space, where M is either an o-minimal structure or a p-adically closed field, and G a definably amenable group. We focus on the problem raised in [13] of whether weakly generic types coincide with almost periodic types, showing that the answer is positive when G has boundedly many global weakly generic types. We also give two “minimal counterexamples” where G has unboundedly many global weakly generic types, extending the main results in [21] to a more general context.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a fixed metric space (possibly an oriented Riemannian manifold with boundary) with an increasing sequence of distance functions and a uniform upper bound on diameter. When the metric space endowed with the pointwise limit of these distances is compact, then there is uniform and Gromov-Hausdorff (GH) convergence to this limit. When the metric space also has an integral current structure of uniformly bounded total mass (as is true for an oriented Riemannian manifold with boundary that has a uniform bound on total volume), we prove volume preserving intrinsic flat convergence to a subset of the GH limit whose closure is the whole GH limit. We provide a review of all notions and have a list of open questions at the end. Dedicated to Xiaochun Rong.

Abstract:We show that if X is a Tychonoff metacompact weakly pseudocompact countably sieve-complete space then X is Čech-complete. A metric space X is Čech-complete if and only if X is Telgársky complete. Then it follows that an Oxtoby complete metric space is not necessarily Telgársky complete. This answers Question 11.1 in [8] . We give an internal characterization of subgroups of products of first-countable semitopological groups which are paracompact σ -spaces. We also discuss some properties of regular ω -balanced, locally ω -good semitopological groups with a q -point, property (w⁎) and Sm(G)≤ω . We finally give a sufficient condition under which a semitopological group is topologically isomorphic to a subgroup of a product of first-countable M1 -semitopological groups.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the cardinality of a star Lindelöf space X does not exceed c if X satisfies one of the following conditions: (1) X has a rank 3-diagonal; (2) X is normal and has a rank 2-diagonal; (3) X is first countable, normal and has a Gδ-diagonal. Moreover, we also obtain several results concerning the general question “When must a star Lindelöf space be star countable?”.

Abstract:Suppose that E and F are Banach lattices. It is known that there are several norms on the Fremlin tensor product that turn it into a normed lattice; in particular, the projective norm (known as the Fremlin projective norm) and the injective norm (known as the Wittstock injective norm). Now, assume that E and F are locally convex-solid vector lattices. Although we have a suitable vector lattice structure for the tensor product E and F (known as the Fremlin tensor product and denoted by ), there is a lack of topological structure on , in general. In this note, we consider a linear topology on that makes it into a locally convex-solid vector lattice, as well; this approach can be taken as a generalization of the projective norm of the Fremlin tensor product between Banach lattices.

Abstract:Motivated by recent developments in the construction of Newton--Okounkov bodies and toric degenerations via cluster algebras in [GHKK18, FO20], we consider a family of Newton--Okounkov polytopes of a complex smooth projective variety $X$ related by a composition of tropicalized cluster mutations. According to the work of [HK15], the toric degeneration associated with each Newton--Okounkov polytope $\Delta$ in the family produces a Lagrangian torus fibration of $X$ over $\Delta$. We investigate circumstances in which each Lagrangian torus fibration possesses a monotone Lagrangian torus fiber. We provide a sufficient condition, based on the data of tropical integer points and exchange matrices, for the family of constructed monotone Lagrangian tori to contain infinitely many monotone Lagrangian tori, no two of which are related by any symplectomorphisms. By employing this criterion and exploiting the correspondence between the tropical integer points and the dual canonical basis elements, we generate infinitely many distinct monotone Lagrangian tori on flag manifolds of arbitrary type except in a few cases.

Abstract:Let X be a space and W = {W(x) : x is an element of X}, where each W(x) is a countable family of subsets containing x. If X has W satisfying: if x is an element of U and U is open, then there exists an open V = V(x, U) containing x such that x is an element of W subset of U for some W is an element of W(y) whenever y is an element of V, we say that the space X satisfies the Collins-Roscoe property. For simplicity, we call the Collins-Roscoe property (G) in the paper. A neighborhood assignment for a space X is a function cc from X to the topology of X such that x is an element of (phi(x) for all x is an element of X. A space X is said to be a D-space if for every neighborhood assignment phi for X, there exists a closed discrete subset D of X such that X = U{phi(d) : d is an element of D}. Spaces satisfying (G) are D-spaces. We show the following. (1) The preimage of a (monotone) D-space under a fiber-discrete mapping is a (monotone) D-space. (2) Any uncountable subspace of the Sorgenfrey line and the Alexandroff double arrow space do not satisfy (G); the Niemytzki plane is not meta-Lindelof. (3) A space satisfies (G) if and only if its Alexandroff duplicate does so. (4) A locally separable regular space satisfying open (G) is metrizable; a locally quasi-developable, hereditarily meta-Lindelof space has a point-countable base. (5) The Tychonoff product of a D-space and a D-c-space is a D-space. (6) Let X and Y be linearly ordered spaces and Y have the maximal point and the minimal point and satisfy (G). Then the lexicographical ordered product X x Y with the ordered topology satisfies (G) if and only if the r-ordered space (X, T-r) and the l-ordered space (X, T-l) satisfy (G). (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:In 1984, Gauduchon [Math. Ann. 267 (1984), pp. 495-518] con-sidered the functional of L2-norm of his torsion 1-form on a compact Hermitian manifold. He obtained the Euler-Lagrange equation for this functional, and showed that in dimension 2 the critical metrics must be balanced (namely with vanishing torsion 1-form). In this note we extend his result to higher dimen-sions, and show that critical metrics are balanced in all dimensions. We also consider the L2-norm of the full Chern torsion, and show by examples that there are critical points of this functional that are not Kahler.
