Investigation on Living Condition among HIV-infected Patients in Shandong Province

Abstract:[Objective]To understand the living condition of HIV-infected patients in Shandong province,to provide reference for AIDS control and prevention.[Methods]Questionnaire investigation was conducted in 651 HIV-infected patients(excluding AIDS patients) detected before April 2009 in Shandong province.[Results]Of the 651 HIV infected patients investigated,368 of them were male and 283 of them were female.The average age was 34.37±11.38 years old.Of the 624 cases investigated,65.86% of them thought that their health condition was better,66.02% of them had better appetite,only 4.00% of them thought that their health condition was poor,10.10% of them had poor appetite,67.30% of them can work properly,83.81% of them thought that their living condition was general,90.87% of them thought that there was no problem in their daily life and communication,self-discrimination accounted for 29.17%,13.94% of them were discriminated by others,70.19% of them had no depression,mild depression accounted for 19.07%,moderate,severe depression accounted for 10.74%.[Conclusion]Life quality of HIV-infected patients declined,the problems were discriminated,lack of social support with anxiety and depression.
