Abstract:Objective:By describing the status of current ethics development in scientific literatures published on Journal of Epidemiology,to find the main ethical problems exist in epidemiological studies.Methods:Searching and reviewing papers on Chinese Journal of Epidemiology from2006 to2010,assess the medical ethical consciousness among the original studies focusing on human beings.Results: There are 749 articles were recruited,which show that: ①the proportion with announcements of consent by the subjects is 29.24%;the proportion with possessing approvals from the ethic committees announced is 6.94%.②There is an increasing in ethics consciousness through these 5 years.③Articles derived from trial studies have better ethics data than those from observational studies.④ Different research institutes and founding sources have different ethical review levels.⑤Ethics consciousnesses are weak in biological specimens collection and privacy protection.Conclusion: The medical ethics consciousnesses in informed consent are still weak in China in epidemiological study.These results suggest that the management departments should make efforts in improving the public ethics education;improve the function of ethics committee review,standardize ethical procedure;update the journal editorial processes,improve editors' ethical accomplishment,play the journals' roles of guidance.
