Abstract:Under the mediation of samarium diiodide, 1-chloromethyl-benzotriazole 1 can undergo Barbier reaction smoothly with imines 2 to produce 1-(beta-aminoethyl)benzotriazole 3. Successive elimination of 3 gives imines 7 increased one carbon. The possible mechanism is proposed as well.

Abstract:Studies with NaBF4/M (M = Zn or Sn) showed that this novel mediator facilitated allylation of a variety of carbonyl compounds in water and had a great influence on the diastereoselectivity of the addition. Abstract:A series of epoxide compounds catalyzed by TMSCl are synthesized by Darzens condensation reaction of aldehydes and α-bromo ketones in the presence of Mg and ethanol.The structure of the products are characterized by IR,1HNMR and 13CNMR.The reaction has the advantage of simple working-up procedure,mild reaction conditions,excellent yields and meets the requirements of green chemistry.

Abstract:Tin nano-particles are employed in the Barbier-type allylation reaction of carbonyl compounds in water to afford the corresponding homoallylic alcohols in good yields. The in situ generated allylation intermediates, allyltin(II) bromide and diallyltin dibromide, have been directly observed by using 1H NMR. A mechanism is proposed based on this observation.

Abstract:An efficient Co-catalyzed hydro-difluoromethylthiolation/hydro-trifluoromethylthiolation reaction of unactivated alkenes was described. Both reactions were conducted at room temperature and a variety of common functional groups such as halogen, ester, aldehyde, enolizable ketone or ester, nitro or cyano group, sulfonate and carbamate were compatible with the reaction conditions. Radical cyclization and radical inhibitor experiments suggested that the reaction proceeds through a free radical process.

Abstract:In order to improve the activity of metal,different nano-metals were used as the promoting agents of aqueous Barbier-Grignard type reaction.Globular Sn nanoparticle and Bi nanotube were prepared through reduction methods,and globular In nanoparticle was synthesized through the solvent dispersion method.Stoichiometric Tin nanoparticle or Indium nanoparticle or Bismuth nanotube successfully mediated Barbier-Grignard reaction of 1 mmol benzaldehyde with 1.5~2.0 mmol allyl(or crotyl) bromide in water to afford the corresponding homoallylic alcohols in good to quantitative yields in a short time respectively.The reaction activity,regioslectivity and diastereoselectivity of crotylation reaction could be influened by different nano-metals.Indium nanoparticles promoted the allylations of aldehydes with crotyl bromide to give exclusive γ-adducts with dominant anti-isomers.Tin nanoparticles promoted the allylations of carbonyl compounds with crotyl bromide,and gave most γ-adducts with dominant anti-isomers.Bismuth nanotube promoted the allylations of aromatic aldehydes with crotyl bromide,to give most γ-adducts with dominant syn-isomers.

Abstract:Dedicated to Prof. Dr. Masahiro Murakami for his great contributions to science. Barbier-type reactions are a classic group of reactions for carbon–carbon bond formation; however, their common use of stoichiometric metals restricts their widespread application. Considering the ready availability and diversity of cyclic amines, we report a visible-light photocatalytic Barbier-type reaction of aziridines and azetidines with nonactivated aldehydes. A series of important γ- and δ-amino alcohols were synthesized in the presence of amines as electron donors. Moreover, this transition-metal-free protocol displays mild reaction conditions, broad functional-group tolerance, and a wide substrate scope. Mechanistic investigations indicated that carbon radicals and carbanions might be generated as key intermediates. Abstract:A novel synthetic method for 1,2,6-trisubstituted benzimidazole derivatives was developed, which started from 3-fluoro-4-ratrobenzonitrile and aromatic amines to give the intermediates N-substituted-2-nitro-4-cyanoaraline (1) with high yield and short reaction time under microwave irradiation condition. Then, compound 1 reacted with different aldehydes in the presence of Na2S2O4 to provide the final compounds. Meanwhile, the process of the reactions was optimized in this study and the optimized conditions are described as: dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)-H2O as solvent, n(compound 1) : n(4-chlorobenzaldehvde) : n(sodium dithiorate)=1 : 1 : 9 at 80 degrees C for 2 h. Employing the same synthetic method, 21 1,2,6-trisubstituted benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized.

Abstract:A zinc or indium-mediated Barbier-type addition reaction of 2,3-allenals with allyl bromide in a mixed medium of aqueous NH4Cl and THF (5 : 2) was developed to provide an efficient route to 1,5,6-alkatrien-4-ols, which is synthetically very useful. No 1,4-addition reaction was observed. Depending on the substrates, both indium and activated zinc afforded the 1,2-addition products in moderate to excellent yields: for terminal allenals, activated zinc was better while in other cases the yields with indium were relatively higher.

Abstract:An efficient synthesis of trisubstituted alkenes including 1,2-heterodisubstituted alkenes has been described. Reactions of thiols and amines with 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes in the presence of TBAF center dot 3H(2)O afford (Z)-2-bromovinyl sulfides and (Z)-2-bromovinyl amines regio- and stereoselectively. The reaction proceeds under catalyst-free conditions with high efficiency. The coupling reactions of the obtained products bearing bromine atoms with phenylacetylene and phenylboronic acid gave trisubstituted alkenes in good to excellent yields. Cross-coupling with various N, O, S, and P nucleophiles selectively generated 1,2-N,O, 1,2-N,S, 1,2-S,P, 1,2-S,S, and 1,2-S,O heterodisubstituted alkenes.

Abstract:A deoxygenative 1,1‐bis‐trifluoromethylthiolation of readily available aromatic aldehydes with AgSCF3 in the presence of KI and (NH4)2SO4 was established. This reaction delivered a series of bis(trifluoromethylthio)methylarenes in moderate to high yields. The precise control of the generation and decomposition of SCF3 anion is the key to the successful transformation.

Abstract:The first example of carbon double-bond formation via praseodymium-mediated Barbier type reaction of ketones and allyl halides in the presence of diethyl phosphite is reported. The reaction is highly α-regioselective and conveniently carried out under mild conditions in a one-pot fashion. From a synthetic point of view, a series of conjugated alkenes were obtained in moderate to good yields in this one-pot reaction with practical reaction conditions.
