Abstract:China's native oil painting were created with strong national characteristics.The themes of China's ethnic minorities' portraiture rise to a more profound cultural background under the influence of the realistic art concepts and the local realism painting style,acquire rich national cultural characteristics in the long process of China's history.At the same time,the diversification and personalization of the creation means also reflect the new diverse trend of China's ethnic minorities' portrait painting.With the cultural exchanges among the ethnic groups becoming increasingly frequent,national identity is easily lost along with the continuous integration of various cultures.Thus,in order to enhance the national cohesion,the minority portraitures should make most of their own advantages and focus more on theoretical exploration.

Abstract:Throughout history, Quanzhou painting, on the basis of its interaction and intermingling with various foreign cultures and painting styles, has always been evolving and inventing under its local context, thus forming its own unique characteristics of development. During the period of the Republic of China, with the impact of new cultural ideologies, Western painting was introduced to Quanzhou. Yet compared with Chinese painting, which was enjoying a strong momentum of development in Quanzhou, Western painting encountered obvious obstacles in the process of spreading.

Abstract:This article compares and analyzes the development history, ideological culture, and philosophical concepts of traditional paintings, landscape paintings, and still life paintings in the East and the West. The essence of painting is a form of visual consciousness. There is a unique way of processing and expressing spatial consciousness in different images, regions, and humanistic spirits of Eastern and Western paintings. The difference in spatial awareness promotes mutual learning, guidance, and promotion between the Chinese and Western art which have different historical backgrounds, aesthetic concepts, and national customs. Therefore, different ways of paintings would also have differences in the spatial consciousness of the paintings.

Abstract:In the process of interpreting works of pictorial art, it is easier to understand not the "style", but the "theme", that is, not how to write, but what to write. In the history of modern art, which attaches more importance to "style", the problem of "theme" is not fundamental and is among the primitive issues worthy of the attention of amateurs who do not understand art. However, sometimes it is in simplicity that the essence lies. The simplest questions that interest almost everyone are the link between works of art and society. When analyzing the "topic", the subject under study is not confined to one work of art, since an integrated approach to the consideration of the problem should be used. The author's main contribution to the study of the history of the development of Chinese painting is a new perspective – the analysis of works based on the "theme". The results of the study revealed the main themes of Chinese pictorial art, identified the main reasons for referring to them, and also established their symbolic meaning, connection with philosophical and literary traditions. The important role of literary scientists in determining the directions of thematic development of Chinese landscape painting is revealed, the significance of the images of the fisherman and the traveler as carriers of the spiritual content of the landscape is determined. The conclusion is made about the prominence of certain themes in the pictorial art, depending on the processes of social development of China.

Abstract:The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that China, like Japan, took oil painting relatively recently. Japan became closely acquainted with Western technology in the 19th century, but at that time they still imposed a taboo on oil painting, the authorities in every way prevented its spread, protecting the traditions of national art. Only the 20th century allowed new trends to finally settle down. The work shows that the understanding of the European painting technology was widely represented in the imperial Celestial Empire. The article shows that the artists did not make a big problem to learn painting skills from the Europeans (originally the Portuguese). They learned the lessons, techniques and technology of European art, despite the fact that they had never had a similar school before. Separately, it is stipulated that cooperation after the formation of the USSR played a great influence on contemporary paintings. This explains the fact that many paintings by Chinese painters are very similar to Russian school of fine art. The authors determine that the Russian style, fully perceived by the PRC, was formed collectively from the Renaissance approach, with the inclusion of impressionism motifs.

Abstract:Han culture is a national culture with a long history and full of its unique features.During the time of the Qin and Han Dynasties,Han nationality became the main ethnic group with the developments in the unification of geographical distribution,the common economic life,and the cultural unification,etc.And Han culture,which was created mainly by Han nationality,also became the main culture of this unified,multi-ethnic country.The diversity and multi-regional features of Han culture have not disappeared or weakened after the unification of the empire.The existence of regional differences could be clearly shown in the official documents in which the information of customs,economic and social life and dialects were recorded.Based on Huozhiliezhuan of Historical Records,Dilizhi of Books of Han,and Dialect,this paper tries to recover the situation of Han cultural areas during its formation period and discuss its regional features,to deepen the knowledge and understanding of Han culture and its diversity and multi-regional features.

Abstract:In the history of the development of Chinese painting, the change of “Shen” and “Yi” has always been a topic of discussion. From the Wei and Jin Dynasties to the Song and Yuan Dynasties, from the emphasis on the “Shen” to the “Yi”, reflecting the development of Chinese painting constantly absorbing and innovating. Taking Gu Kaizhi and Ni Zan as representatives, this paper analyzes the painting theories and painting styles of painters from two different eras to demonstrate the relationship and change of “Shen” and “Yi”, and to consider the direction of the development of the contemporary painting appraisal system.

Abstract:The great differences between Chinese landscape and western landscape in painting language are the result of the different views on painting. One important difference is that Chinese landscape stresses the expression of experience while western painting emphasizes the description of vision. The over-emphasis on experience led to the decline of Chinese landscape in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In contrast, western landscape became consummate in late 19th century, generating varied styles of painting in following periods.

Abstract:Ming and Qing dynasties witnessed a great influence of Western painting and thoughts on Chinese fine arts.Chinese court painters and grassroot artists have absorbed the Western tradition of realism in painting,especially figure painting.Folk portraiture in Huizhou(Anhui nowadays)is a typical example of this fusion,which shows realistic features from Western ideas and techniques instead of the Chinese tradition.In addition,such concepts and skills as anatomic structure and use of shade and light in Huizhou folk portraiture reflect certain features of naturalism influenced by the practice in Western fine arts history.Huizhou portraiture now serves as a good example to illustrate the communication and fusion between Chinese and Western art,as well as a convincing evidence for the "influence" theory in comparative study of art.

Abstract:Chinese painting is full of poetic, expressive power and rhythm, which is different from Western painting and could be unique in global art history and research. The poetic, expressive power and rhythm in Chinese painting have been unique in the global art world. Therefore, it should be evaluated correctly, thoroughly and accurately but not be included only as an example in the dominant Western art world. Doing comparisons between Chinese painting and Western painting is supposed to compare them with one another equally. Abstract:The article analyzes the ideological foundations of the emergence and evolution of landscape in Chinese painting as an independent genre from the III to the XVIII century, before the rapid integration of Western European artistic traditions. Landscape painting is considered as an expression of the state of mind of Chinese artists, the prevailing philosophical ideas, in particular Taoism, the embodiment of literary images associated with the natural origin. Despite the attention of the scientific community to the development of images of nature in the art of ancient and modern China, there are few studies devoted to the causes and justification of certain processes that influenced the formation of the genre. The purpose of the study is to analyze the reasons for the appearance of images and motifs in the landscapes of Chinese artists in connection with the philosophical ideas of that time, cultural connotations in poetry and the principles of landscape art. The tasks include determining the most typical range of scenes and images in landscapes created from the III to XVIII centuries. The material is the work of Chinese artists who lived since the reign of the Wei Dynasty, during the heyday of landscapes in the era of the Tang Dynasty and up to the XVIII century. Of interest is the study of the mechanism of influence on the formation of figurative systems in Chinese landscape painting that developed in parallel poetry and landscape art.

Abstract:The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that Chinese painting is at least five thousand years old. Throughout history, Chinese artists have used light pink, gold and black colors in their work. The paper shows that sumi-e (Chinese national ink wash painting) is different from the European one. The authors show that calligraphy is inextricably linked to painting, use the same lines, materials, and tools. In China, paintings are not only artistic but also a literary style. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that the authors of the paper highlight the aspect of the execution of oil painting without preliminary sketches. The expressiveness inherent in Chinese art is achieved through four values of the artist. It is revealed that each artist attaches great importance to the choice of their professional tools and approaches it with an increased level of responsibility. The practical significance of the study is in the fact that the paper shows the possibility of developing the culture of traditional oil painting. It is shown that two opposites must be combined at the same time: dark and light, large and small, dry and wet, short and long, rare and frequent.
