Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the challenging task of understanding short text (STU task) by jointly considering topic modeling and knowledge incorporation. Knowledge incorporation can solve the content sparsity problem effectively for topic modeling. Specifically, the phrase topic model is proposed to leverage the auto-mined knowledge, i.e., the phrases, to guide the generative process of short text. Experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the mechanism that utilizes knowledge to improve topic modeling’s performance.

Abstract:Maritime transport is considered as the lynchpin of global trade. In the past decades, a large number of academic articles in the maritime transport field have been published. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of the development of maritime transport research. A structural topic model (STM) is adopted to analyze the research themes and trends in the maritime literature. STM is a text mining-based methodology to uncover main topics from large-scale unstructured textual data. In total, 3199 articles published between Jan 1991 and Aug 2020 were collected and analyzed. The results show that the major academic concerns of maritime transport are related to port management, container operations and liner shipping management. The overall research trends have shifted from regulations and policy management to efficient, integrated and sustainable maritime transport over the past few decades. The main research topics and emerging trends discovered from STM can facilitate researchers, funding groups and policymakers for identifying contemporary research issues and making more informed decisions.

Abstract:This paper summarizes the merits and flaws of the traditional approaches to topic-specific web resource discovery, which include page content-based approach, page link-based approach and the approach of using reinforcement learning. In addition, the paper introduces a method of using a dictionary to build Ontology, which can reduce much time of users. On this basis, an Ontology-based approach to topic-specific web resource discovery is put forward, which shows great advantages through experiments.

Abstract:Firstly, this paper proposes the Topic Maps solution to the defects of folksonomy and then analyzes the foreign topicmaps-engined tag website Fuzzzy. Lastly, the authors put forward an prototype of the academic community of knowledge expert based on Topic Maps. Academic community of knowledge expert is a virtual community where subject experts and researchers can engage in academic exchanges, and knowledge sharing. Through this network platform, knowledge individuals will congregate into society, which will achieve coordination and cooperation of academic research, resolve the current problem in information exchange and knowledge sharing within academic staff. Thereby, to accelerate knowledge innovation in the future.

Abstract:The basic classification techniques for organizing information are thesauri, taxonomy and faceted classification. Topic map is relatively a new entrant to this information space. Topic map standard describes how complex relationships between abstract concepts and real world resources can be represented using XML syntax. This paper explores how topic map incorporates the traditional techniques and what are its advantages and disadvantages in several dimensions such as content management, indexing, knowledge representation, constraint specification and query languages in the context of information retrieval. Abstract:Abstract Identifying the research frontier trends in the field of transportation can provide researchers with new perspectives and innovation points, and provide information support for decision-making of scientific research planning managers. In this paper, the visual knowledge map analysis method is used to analyze the conference documents published by the Transportation Research Board of the United States from 2015 to 2019, and analyze in detail eight key areas, including aviation, highway, marine transportation, motor carriers, pedestrians and bicyclists, pipelines, public transportation and railroads. The above analysis reveals the research frontier trends of the whole and 8 key sub fields in the field of transportation.

Abstract:Over the past few decades, the field of fuzzy research has experienced rapid growth. However, there remains a dearth of a comprehensive overview and summary of fuzzy research that provides a macro understanding of the field, particularly from the lens of topic analysis. To fill this void and capture the knowledge structure and trends in fuzzy research, this paper employs Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic models to extract ten potential crucial scientific topics from a dataset comprising 33,957 articles published in renowned journals within the fuzzy domain. The identified topics are thoroughly discussed, and their evolution over time, as well as their distribution characteristics and dynamic trends at both journal and country/region levels, are analyzed. This research contributes to a better understanding of the distribution and trends of fuzzy research topics, providing valuable insights into the future of the field. Furthermore, the findings guide identifying appropriate journals, adjusting journal strategies, and fostering inter-national collaborations in fuzzy research.

Abstract:Knowledge sharing is one of the important branches of knowledge management.Two research paradigms are put forward in this paper,which are known as technology-centered and human-centered paradigm.Under such framework,this paper reviews the existed research on knowledge sharing from seven perspectives,which are communication,tool,interaction,learning,power,market and social exchange.Finally,three directions of knowledge sharing research are put forward.Those are revolution from the technology-centered paradigm only,paying more attention to individual level and taking culture into account.
A comparison of citation-based clustering and topic modeling for science mapping

Abstract:Understanding the different ways in which different science mapping approaches capture the structure of scientific fields is critical. This paper presents a comparative analysis of two commonly used approaches, topic modeling (TM) and citation-based clustering (CC), to assess their respective strengths, weaknesses, and the characteristics of their results. We compare the two approaches using cluster-to-topic and topic-to-cluster mappings based on science maps of cardiovascular research generated by TM and CC. Our findings reveal that relations between topics and clusters are generally weak, with limited overlap between topics and clusters. Only in a few exceptional cases do more than one-third of the documents in a topic belong to the same cluster, or vice versa. For TM the presence of highly similar topics is a considerable challenge. A strength of TM is its ability to represent societal needs related to cardiovascular disease, potentially offering valuable insights for policymakers. In contrast, CC excels in depicting the intellectual structure of cardiovascular diseases, with a strong capability to reflect scientific micro-communities. This study deepens the understanding of the use of TM and CC for science mapping, providing insights for users on how to apply these approaches based on their needs.

The Construction and Implementation of Chinese Citation Index Topic Maps

Abstract:The citation index has two functions, information retrieval, selection of information and academic evaluation. These two functions determine the important role of citation index played in scientific research. This paper adopts the topic maps to construct the citation index database and selects partial data of Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) as an example. Through the use of OKS Samplers, this paper constructs the citation index topic maps and implements its visualization. Finally, the authors sum up the advantages of citation index topic maps and proposes the suggestions for the application of topic maps to citation index database.

Abstract:Rough sets (RS) are a set of theories that explore the expression, learning, and induction of incomplete data and inaccurate knowledge. Given the high profile and influence of RS research in the academic world, it is crucial to investigate and summarize the field’s development status and knowledge structure. This study employs the main path analysis (MPA) and scientific mapping methods to analyze 2803 retrieved papers and explore the knowledge diffusion and topic evolution in the RS field. The findings suggest that the RS field initially focused on practical applications before transitioning to extended research as the mainstream direction. Two main methods for RS extension research emerged: the constructional method and algebraic (axiomatic) method. Key research topics include neighborhood-based RS, decision-theoretic RS, and covering RS. Scientific mapping reveals six thematic areas across three stages, highlighting the theme distribution and evolution in the RS field. Overall, this paper provides insights into the knowledge structure and conceptual evolution of the RS field by tracing the trajectory of knowledge development and the thematic evolution.

Abstract:When theories and research fields become much mature, it is important for researchers to understand and grasp the development and trends of a field or discipline. Based on studying of former research, and used the method of social network analysis, this paper revealed the project management discipline's development from the network's interior structure and the fifteen hot issues in this field. The paper also discussed about the dynamic switch process of these hot topics. Then based on key words' co-word matrix, Multi-Dimensional Scaling Map analysis and main component analysis summarized four main knowledge groups in the project management field, Project management's knowledge domain, process domain, innovation domain, and public domain. At last, the new trends were analyzed and the conclusion was drawn and discussed.
