Transition of the Bund Garden in the First Half of Twentieth Century

Abstract:The functions and characteristics transition of the Bund Garden in the first half of 20th century was analyzed based on Public Garden reclamation during the period of 1904～1905 and 1921～1922 and layout adjustments in 1922 and 1936.The main con-clusions could be drawn as follows:The Bund Garden had carried on the enormous facilities improvement and the function expansion in the first two decades of 20th century,and the features and functions of the Garden presented deviation and dissimilation in the cer-tain extent,and the popularity of the Garden already was accepted by different districts.After that,the pattern and scenery of the Garden showed obvious changes compared to 19th century,which reflected the process of Shanghai Concession landscape architecture in the modern times
