Study on the characteristics of three sub-surface flow constructed wetlands with different internal structures

Abstract:Experiments have been carried out to investigate the characteristics of three sub-surface constructed wetlands with different internal structures. The result of tracer experiment indicates that the HRT of the three wetlands is that vertically baffled flow wetland >horizontal baffled flow wetland >conventional wetland. The removals of CODCr,NH4+-N,TN,PO43--P of the conventional wetland are 76.5% ,56.6% ,54.4% and 93.1% ,respectively,the corresponding removals of the horizontal baffled flow wetland are 88.8% ,72.6% ,65.8% and 96.9%,respectively,the corresponding removals of the vertical baffled flow wetland are 94.1%,82.6%,79.2% and 99.6% ,respectively,and the removals of all the four pollutants are that vertical baffled flow wetland > horizontal baffled flow wetland>conventional wetland.
