Abstract:Economic man hypothesis in the modern mainstream economics takes the early reductionism psychology as its theoretical basis. It just reflects animal instinct needs but neglects the social nature of man.As a result, the hypothesis can not reveal where the"invisible hand"comes from and how it works, nor does it have a fundamental understanding of the paradox of"Prisoner's Dilemma"and the reality. In contrast, the behavior mechanism of"self-interest and altruism" takes the latest humanistic psychology as its theoretical basis and combines man's instinct purpose as animal with the means of achievement based on social nature. As a result,it can better finds how the"invisible hand"works for social coordination. The mechanism has more reasonable and more effective human abstract than economic man hypothesis.
