Abstract:In order to meet the high-precision request of plastic products,reduce costs and energy lost of the injection molding machine,this paper studied injection molding system of closed-loop control system controlled by a servo proportional valve,established the nonlinear model considering the valve flow-pressure nonlinear,injection cylinder volume changing and the polymer melting flow characteristics,provided fuzzy PID control method fitting the system.With the Matlab/Simulink platform,established a simulate model.The result proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the closed-loop control system and control method,compared to the conventional PID control,this control strategy significantly reduced the static error of the system,greatly improved the tracking results of the injection speed,and effectively helped to improve products' repeat precision.

Abstract:This paper researches on the hydraulic servo system by using ordinary on-off valves. The mathematic model of an asymmetric hydraulic cylinder servo control system is built, and its characteristic is analysed here. To reduce the static and dynamic characteristic differences between forward and reverse motion of asymmetric cylinder, and improve system’s performance, a self-tuning linear quadratic gaussian optimum controller (SLQG) is designed successful. In the end, an asymmetric hydraulic cylinder servo system of paint robot is researched. The result shows that the above method is effective.

Abstract:This article presents a novel harmonic and synchronous compound control scheme based on the dual-valve parallel structure for controlling a single-rod electro-hydraulic actuator with high-precision control and large-flow requirements. Harmonic and synchronous compound control consists of an adaptive robust control layer and a control law allocation layer. In adaptive robust control layer, an adaptive robust control algorithm is designed to deal with the system nonlinearities and uncertainties via backstepping method. Meanwhile, dynamic surface control technique and “lumped flow” are introduced to solve the differential explosion problem and the multiple input-single output control problem. In control law allocation layer, the harmonic and synchronous compound strategy allocates the control law to two valves reasonably based on system flow and valve frequency characteristics. Furthermore, since the effect of the proportional valve dead-zone can be compensated effectively by combining the estimation of the dead-zone flow by adaptive term, the estimation error compensation by robust term, and the allocation method of control law allocation layer, improved tracking performance can be achieved. Finally, both simulations and experiments are demonstrated to illustrate the advantages of the proposed control scheme.

Design and Characteristics Analysis of a High Precision Pneumatic Proportional Pressure Valve

Abstract:A high precision pneumatic proportional pressure valve was designed. The plunger-type structure with two-stage poppet was adopted for the valve. A proportional electromagnetic actuator was used as control component and the control method was electric closed-loop feedback. The output pressure can be adjusted continuously within 0.6MPa absolute with the steady-state precision of less than 0.25kPa. A completely nonlinear dynamic model was developed to analyze the effects of main physical and geometrical parameters on the valve's dynamic behavior and control performance. A self-adaptive fuzzy proportional plus integral controller with adjusting output scaling factor was designed for high precision and quickly control of different pressure target values, and carried out based on single chip-microcomputer ATmega16. Experimental results indicated that the valve has a good performance in pressure and flow characteristics under the designed pressure. Compared to traditional PI controller, the proposed fuzzy algorithm can improve the response and control stability of the system as well as the steady-tate precision drastically, which has better efficiency and robustness.

Abstract:Aimed at achieving a high speed and precision circumferential positioning of pipe under low energy consumption, a paralleling hydraulic control of variable frequency motor and valve (PHC-VFMV) system is designed for the swing mechanism of segment erector. Firstly, with a view to the working principle of the swing mechanism, a hydraulic circuit of the PHC-VFMV is designed. Then, two sub-circuits of the hydraulic circuit are separately modeled and equipped with suitable controllers. Finally, one valve control (VC) system and the designed PHC-VFMV system are tested in AMEsim platform. Results show that, while guaranteeing a good performance of speed and accuracy, the PHC-VFMV could achieve a better performance in energy saving than VC.
Study on Control Performance of Digital Piston Pump Based on Virtual Prototype Technology

Abstract:In order to develop a new type of digital hydraulic pump and study its control characteristics, with the high-speed on/off valve control, a new type of control mode for digital piston pump was developed to realize different functions by changing a controller program. The dynamic and hydraulic models were es-tablished by analyzing the control principle of this digital pump. An interface was designed to connect the two models, and a virtual prototype of this digital pump was built in the virtual prototype platform. The flow control, pressure control and power control of this digital pump were studied in two ways: the simu-lation of the virtual prototype and the experiments of the physics prototype. The results showed that accu-rate pressure and flow control can be realized in less than 2 s, and accurate constant power control can be performed. So the digital pump is convenient to meet different control requirements by using defining way. Besides, the virtual prototype technology can well predict the pump performance and would be a good choice in de-signing and optimizing the digital pumps.

Abstract:Recently, there has been a growing demand for electro-hydraulic systems that can offer both high control performance and high energy efficiency. Traditionally, high performance is achieved using expensive high-bandwidth servo valve-controlled units. However, the inevitable throttling losses that occur in such systems severely decrease their energy efficiency. For a higher energy efficiency, pump-controlled systems have become the standard choice in this field. Nevertheless, their dynamic performance is inferior to that of valve-controlled systems. Considering the individual advantages of the valve- and pump-controlled units, our previous work proposed the idea of a parallel-connected pump–valve-coordinated system. In this study, a generic form of the coordinated control unit is discussed, and further improvements are made to the control design. In addition, comprehensive experimental studies are conducted with a variable-displacement pump and a servo motor-driven pump equipped with a direct pump-control component. Favorable results are obtained, demonstrating that the proposed system can achieve better tracking performance than a typical valve-controlled system, while simultaneously improving the energy efficiency.

Abstract:In this paper,the structure principle and the working principle of 2D digital servo valve were mainly described,the mathematical model of electro-mechanical converter was established,and a special controller of 2D digital servo valve was designed.Electro-mechanical converter and the prototype of 2D digital servo valve were experimentally researched for their performances,the experimental results show that the electro-mechanical converter has an excellent dynamic response whose frequency width is 250Hz at-3dB and-90°approximately;2D digital servo valve has excellent static characteristics and dynamic characteristics,both its resolution ratio and hysteresis control are in 1%,the frequency width is 130Hz at-3dB and-90°approximately at 25% maximum spool displacement.

Abstract:In this paper, a self-learning control stratagem based on digital control is put forward to compensate the variable dead-zone of electro-hydraulic proportional direction valves. Experiments show that the positioning accuracy together with the anti-disturbance ability and the steadiness of the electro-hydraulic proportional positioning system is improved considerably. Being used in real-time control system, the application of electro-hydraulic proportional system is widened in the field of high accurate positioning.

Abstract:The rapid industrial development in the fields, such as robotics and high-tech manufacturing, has put forward much higher requirements for the application of high-performance electrohydraulic system, which should not only achieve high control accuracy but also work in a highly energy-efficient way. As we know, a valve control method could achieve good accuracy, but the low energy efficiency is its essential drawback. Conversely, a pump control method could achieve good energy efficiency, but the achievable accuracy is the drawback. Since neither individual valve control nor individual pump control method can meet the dual requirements, a novel idea of advanced valves and pump coordinated hydraulic control design is developed in this article. Within the control details, the high-performance adaptive robust control law is synthesized to handle the nonlinearities and uncertainties of the electrohydraulic system, and the optimized command generation approach for the valves and the pump is developed to attain the high level of energy efficiency while considering the control performance. Essentially, the control command of the pump is based on the desired model compensation to provide the majority amount of flow in an energy-efficient way, and control commands of the valves are generated directly by tracking errors to guarantee the control accuracy. The theoretical performance of the overall system control design is analyzed. Comparative experiments are conducted, and impressive results are obtained, showing that the proposed system could achieve even better tracking accuracy than the typical valve-controlled system, while the energy efficiency reached a high level. The advantages of the advanced system control design can be verified both in theory and experiments.

Abstract:A digital hydraulic valve is an important component of the digital hydraulic system, and its performance is directly related to the system function. In order to make the valve system more competitive in dimension, digital valve miniaturization is an important research point. A new micro digital valve is designed, which is analyzed from the mechanical structure and magnetic circuit mechanism, and the design difficulties are also expounded. The four subsystems and switching characteristics of the valve are theoretically analyzed and simulated. In order to test the performance of the valve, a test system is designed, and performance of the new micro valve is tested. The test results show that the switch characteristic analysis of the valve is correct. The comparison between the test curve and the simulation curve is carried out, which demonstrates that the accuracy of the simulation model is reasonable. The theoretical analysis of the new micro digital valve is consistent with experiments.

Abstract:In hydraulic motion control industries, independent metering valves control system (IMVCS) can effectively improve the control performance of the system, furthermore, it has prominent potential in energy-saving. In IMVCS, the meter-in and meter-out orifices are regulated by two independent valves, which increases the control degrees of freedom. In some working conditions such as lifting where the load is steady, a double pressure compound control (DPCC) strategy that controls inlet and outlet cavities simultaneously can be applied for better dynamic performance. In this paper, a double DPCC strategy is proposed to regulate the pressure of both meter-in and meter-out chambers of a cylinder. Firstly, the control algorithm based on the two-level fuzzy PID(FPID) is designed, which contains a spool displacement controller as an inner loop and a pressure controller as an outer loop. Then, the pressure dynamic characteristics of the system under the IMVCS are studied. The simulation model is established using AMESim-Simulink co-simulation, and its key parameters are identified through experiments. The simulation results show that the dynamic characteristics of the actuator can be increased effectively with two-level fuzzy PID control algorithm and DPCC strategy. The adjusting time and overshoot of cavity pressure can be significantly decreased with them.

Abstract:A special controller based on ARM(advanced RISC machines) was designed to effectively control the energy regulation based variable-speed electro-hydraulic system and improve its application characteristic.In the view of energy regulation and based on the energy supply-demand relationship,a PID based compound control strategy was designed to control the inverter,the proportional directional valve and the proportional throttle valve.The system control parameters are set by the keyboard and the operation state of the system can be real-time displayed on the LCD installed in the controller.And the controller provides the serial communication interface between the controller and the upper-end computer for real-time monitor.The rectangle experiments of valve control system,variable-speed control system,valve variable-speed compound control system,and energy regulation based variable-speed control system were accomplished.The experimental results show that the controller can work effectively,and the designed system can obtain fast response and good energy-saving effect.

Abstract:In order to make the hydraulic vibrator table have favorable moving characters,the authors designed a control structure of double close-loop.The inner close-loop was used to adjust the electro-hydraulic servo valve,and the digital controller based on the digital signal processor(DSP)was used in the outer close-loop to adjust the servo-actuator.This scheme succeeded in the practical use of hydraulic vibrator table that is applied to test the performance of the special automobile absorber.The real time result indicates that this design of double close-loop combined with analog controller and digital controller is correct,and the preferences is tea- sortable.The system performance achieved expected objective.

Abstract:Aimed at electro-hydraulic servo force control system, according to the nonlinear of electric-hydraulic servo valve, to improve the speed of equivalent valve response, we propose the double electric-hydraulic servo valve parallel control, and two servo valve are controlled by their respective controller, the same signal inputs two controller, every valve controller can adopt different structure and parameters. Iterative control is used to the first controller, another using adaptive control. The oretical analysis and simulation results prove the scheme is feasible. And such system doesn't cost too much, avoiding using expensive big flow electro-hydraulic servo valve, especially being suitable for those who need to locate quickly and whose positioning precision is high.

Abstract:Abstract Pump control systems are widely used, because of their energy saving properties and their high efficiency. Nevertheless, pump control systems generally have a low accuracy, because of the nonlinear pump flow and other nonlinearities of hydraulic systems. Furthermore, due to the underlaying high order dynamics, pump control systems have low response times, which is one of the main drawbacks. Servo motor-pump direct driven systems are commonly used in today’s industry. The application of servo motor pumps allow a reliable performance with quick response times. For low speeds, however, servo motor pumps do not achieve a high accuracy due to the pump flow deviation. The goal of this paper is to present a controller for a servo motor-pump direct driven system, which improves the accuracy especially at low pump speeds. For that purpose, the controller uses a nonlinear flow mapping, which maps the desired pump flow and pump pressure to the voltage input for the motor-pump. Additionally, the controller uses a backstepping method, which tracks the position as a first step and regulates the pressure as a second step. Comparison experiments to a controller without nonlinear flow mapping show that the controller designed in this paper has improved performances and tracking accuracy.
Computational fluid dynamics and experimental analysis on flow rate and torques of a servo direct drive rotary control valve

Abstract:This paper aims to analyze the flow characteristics and fluid torques in a direct drive rotary control valve with a novel structure, and based on the computational fluid dynamics method, the advantages of improved structure are verified. With the establishment of the valve structure and the simulation model, the sliding mesh model and moving region grid are applied to simulate the complete opening and closing process of the valve at dynamic conditions. The results present that the fluid torques generate resistance torques during the increasing process of flow area while providing driving torques in the decreasing period of flow area, which is consistent with the theoretical analysis. In addition, the flow regulation of the fluid chamber is conducted with the computational fluid dynamics method and experimental test, which exhibited disagreement due to the oil leakage phenomenon. The simulation results and experimental results both convince the pressure and flow characteristics, and the improved valve model shows decreased fluid torques of around 17% compared with the original one under the system pressure of 6 MPa.
