Abstract:To control the present situation and development of the reform of PE major in Jiangsu province since the carrying out of the outline,thus provide the reference for the reform and development in the new period,we investigate and research on the eighteen colleges in Jiangsu province by means of literature review,expert interview,inductive inference and mathematical statistics.The result shows that the reform of PE major in Jiangsu province considering the fact of itself,under the thoughts of putting person first, health first,Quality and the Lifelong Sports,has improved the files of teaching,accomplished the management of teaching in normalization and modernization basically,established the major model of students centering,enlarged the exploit of major resource,diversified the projects of major,enhanced the aerobics,epochal character and humanist character of the teaching contents,formed the physical activity after class and match system,the Combination of Training and Education advanced the athletics level of college remarkable,established the college center of Fitness Tests,formed the embryo of students health management.However,the main reform is still in the change of formality at a low level for lacking the whole thoughts of PE major and the reasonable major system,which has not resolved so many problems that influence the development of college PE major over a long period,especially the problem in essence on the target to enhance the students physical quality.
