Research on the History and Current Situation and Innovation Strategies of Physical Education in Higher Education in China

Abstract:With the combination of the methods of documentary analysis,investigation,and analysis,this paper reviewed the history of P.E.specialty in higher education in China and analyzed the current situation and existing problems.Furthermore,the innovation strategies were proposed.The results showed that although the current P.E.specialty setting and specialist cultivation mode contributed a lot to the development of P.E.in higher education,it fell behind the development of te society.It is essential to reform the structure of P.E.specialty and innovate the curriculum setting of P.E.specialty.According to the demand characteristics of P.E.experts which is required by Chinese society at the beginning of the 21st century.It is very necessary to create the four-year program and train all rounded students in P.E to meet the demands of the social development of the 21 century.
