Introduction of the project to improve nursing safty and assessment of effects

Abstract:Objective The purpose is to introduce the project, held in nursing department of Shunyi District Hospital in Beijing, which is for improving the nursing safety in this hospital. The purpose is also to set out the effects of the project. Methods It used two methods, one is focus group interview, which was conducted with the vice-director of the hospital, who is in charge of nursing affairs, the director of nursing department, some officers of nursing department and charge-nurses of each clinical department, the other method is analyzing the data on "the unqualified item" about nursing affairs, which occurred in 2004—2006 in this hospital. Results The outcome is that the project is proved to be well going, the nursing safety has been improved for the past three years. Conclusion The conclusion is that nursing safety management is a sustaining and long-term work. The present project is well, but there is still some shortcomings, to still work hard on it.
