On the Core Connotation of Political Participation

Abstract:There are disagreements on how to understand political participation between Chinese and foreign scholars,which affect further research in some degree.Generally speaking,the core connotation of political participation is consisted of three components: who participate,what one participate and how to participate.Political participation can be defined as ordinary citizens influence the decision-making of political parties,the legislature,executive,judiciary and other public sector through certain channels and forms when we talk about contemporary Chinese government and politics.
