Abstract:Let (E,⊥,⊕,0,1) be a lattice effect algebra and τi its interval topology. In this work we show that if the operation ⊕ is continuous with respect to τi, then τi is Hausdorff. In addition, we also show that if (E,⊥,⊕,0,1) is a complete MV-effect algebra and τi is a Hausdorff topology, then the operations ⊕, ⊖, ∨ and ∧ are τi continuous.

Abstract:The famous Antosik-Mikusinski convergent theorem on the Abel topological groups has very extensive applications in measure theory, summation theory and other analysis fields. In this paper, we establish the theorem on a class of effect algebras equipped with the ideal topology. This paper shows also that the ideal topology of effect algebras is a useful topology in studying the quantum logic theory.

Abstract:A difficult question arising in the study of effect algebras is how to equip them with a fitting and proper topology such that the topology is compatible with the partial operations ⊕ and Θ. As we know, the Frink ideal topology is an important intrinsic topology for studying partially ordered set theory; in particular, it is the correct topology for chains and direct products of a finite number of chains. In this paper, we show that the Frink ideal topology is also a nice topology for studying effect-algebra theory since it provides the operations with some of the expected continuity properties.

Abstract:Topological structure is introduced on some classic effect algebras, and so the effect algebras become topolo-gical effect algebras. We prove that the direct sum of two topological effect algebras is still topological effect algebra, and the fuzzy system of topological effect algebra is still topological effect algebra. Continious map between topological effect algebras are given, and the continuity of morphisms, monomorphisms and isomorphic are discussed. Finally, it is proved that the set of all continious maps from a topological effect algebra to another is also a topological effect algebra.

Abstract:We prove that the interval topology of an Archimedean atomic lattice effect algebra $E$ is Hausdorff whenever the set of all atoms of $E$ is almost orthogonal. In such a case $E$ is order continuous. If moreover $E$ is complete then order convergence of nets of elements of $E$ is topological and hence it coincides with convergence in the order topology and this topology is compact Hausdorff compatible with a uniformity induced by a separating function family on $E$ corresponding to compact and cocompact elements. For block-finite Archimedean atomic lattice effect algebras the equivalence of almost orthogonality and s-compact generation is shown. As the main application we obtain the state smearing theorem for these effect algebras, as well as the continuity of $\oplus$-operation in the order and interval topologies on them.

Abstract:A quantum effect is an operator A on a complex Hilbert space H that satisfies 0 <= A <= I, E(H) is the set of all quantum effects on H. In 2001, Professors Gudder and Nagy studied the sequential product A . B = A(1/2) BA(1/2) for A, B. E(H). In 2005, Professor Gudder asked: Is A. B = A(1/2) BA(1/2) the only sequential product on epsilon(H)? Recently, Liu and Wu have presented an example to show that the answer is negative. In this paper, first, we characterize some algebraic properties of the abstract sequential product on epsilon(H), second, we present a general method for constructing sequential products on epsilon(H) and, finally, we study some properties of the sequential products constructed by the method.

Abstract:This article begins with a study of convex effect-state spaces. We point out that such spaces are equivalent to interval effect algebras that generate an ordered linear space and possess an order-determining set of states. We then discuss operations and instruments on interval effect algebras under the assumption of an unrestrictive condition. Effects measured by operations and sequential products of effects relative to operations are considered. Observables are introduced and coexistence of effects are discussed. We also present properties of sequential products of observables and conditioning of observables related to instruments. The final section is devoted to Holevo instruments. Pure and mixed Holevo operations are defined and extended to instruments. The Holevo sequential product of two observables is defined and the marginals of these products are computed. We define the commutant of two effects and derive its properties. Examples are given that illustrate the properties of previously presented concepts.

Abstract:Let λ and μ be sequence spaces and have both the signed-weak gliding hump property, (λ, μ) the algebra of the infinite matrix operators which transform λ into μ. In this paper, it is proved that if λ and μ are β-spaces and λ β and μ β have also the signed-weak gliding hump property, then for any polar topology τ, ((λ, μ), τ) is always sequentially complete locally convex topological algebra.

(2) If E is a complete atomic distributive lattice effect algebra, then its Frink ideal topology τ id is Hausdorff topology and τ id is finer than its order topology τ o , and τ id = τ o iff 1 is finite iff every element of E is finite iff τ id and τ o are both discrete topologies. Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to study under which conditions the interval topology on a T1-lattice may be Hausdorff. We show that for a T1-lattice L, the interval topology on L cannot be Hausdorff except the extreme case that L is isomorphic to the powerset of some set X. Similarly, for a T1 - space (X, ��(X)), the interval topology on ��(X) cannot be Hausdorff except the extreme case that (X, ��(X)) is discrete.

Abstract:L -effect algebras are introduced as a class of L -algebras which specialize to all known generalizations of effect algebras with a ∧ -semilattice structure. Moreover, L -effect algebras X arise in connection with quantum sets and Frobenius algebras. The translates of X in the self-similar closure S ( X ) form a covering, and the structure of X is shown to be equivalent to the compatibility of overlapping translates. A second characterization represents an L -effect algebra in the spirit of closed categories. As an application, it is proved that every lattice effect algebra is an interval in a right ℓ -group, the structure group of the corresponding L -algebra. A block theory for generalized lattice effect algebras, and the existence of a generalized OML as the subalgebra of sharp elements are derived from this description.
