Abstract:In this paper,a concept of s-quantum spaces is introduced and the relationship between closures and convergence of nets are obtained.In particular,we show that the closures of each subset A of a s-quantum space X is uniquely determined by the convergence of nets in A iff X is topological.

Abstract:In this paper, we study some properties of s-spaces. By means of the addition theorem and the theory of remainders,the following properties are established: (1)if an s-space X is the union of a countable family of metrizable subspaces,then X is sequential;(2)if G is a non-locally compact topological group with a compactification bG such that Y =bG\G is hereditarily an s-space, then either G is separable and metrizable, or G is σ-compact, which generalize and improve some results about s-spaces by Arhangel'skii.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate various cardinal properties of the space $Q_{C}X$ of all real-valued quasicontinuous functions on the topological space $X$, under the topology of uniform convergence on compact subsets. It begins by examining the relationship between tightness and other properties in the context of the space $X$, highlighting results such as the alignment of tightness $Q_{C}X$ with the compact Lindelöf number of $X$ under Hausdorff conditions and the countable tightness of $Q_{C}X$ when $X$ is second countable. Further investigations reveal conditions for the tightness of $Q_{C}X$ relative to $k$-covers of $X$, as well as connections between density tightness, fan tightness, and other properties in Hausdorff spaces. Additionally, we discuss the implications of the Frechet-Urysohn property $Q_{C}X$ for open $k$-covers in Hausdorff spaces. We explore relationships between $Q_{C}X$'s tightness, the Frechet-Urysohn property, and the $\sigma$-compactness of locally compact Hausdorff spaces $X$. Furthermore, we examine the $k_{f}$-covering property and the existence of $k$-covers in the context of Whyburn spaces.

Abstract:We consider a (finite or infinite) family of closed convex sets with nonempty intersection in a normed space. A property relating their epigraphs with their intersection's epigraph is studied, and its relations to other constraint qualifications (such as the linear regularity, the strong CHIP, and Jameson's ($G$)-property) are established. With suitable continuity assumption we show how this property can be ensured from the corresponding property of some of its finite subfamilies.

Abstract:In this paper, we first present some sufficient conditions for the upper semicontinuity and/or the continuity of the Bregman farthest-point map $Q_C^g$ and the relative farthest-point map $S_C^g$ for a nonempty $D$-maximally approximately compact subset $C$ of a Banach space $X$. We next present certain sufficient conditions as well as equivalent conditions for a Klee set to be singleton in a Banach space $X$. Our results extend and/or improve the corresponding ones of [Bauschke, et al., J. Approx. Theory, 158 (2009), pp. 170-183] to infinite dimensional spaces.

Abstract:In a topological quantum computer, braids of non-Abelian anyons in a (2+1)-dimensional space time form quantum gates, whose fault tolerance relies on the topological, rather than geometric, properties of the braids. Here we propose to create and exploit redundant geometric degrees of freedom to improve the theoretical accuracy of topological single-and two-qubit quantum gates. We demonstrate the power of the idea using explicit constructions in the Fibonacci model. We compare its efficiency with that of the Solovay-Kitaev algorithm and explain its connection to the leakage errors reduction in an earlier construction [H. Xu and X. Wan, Phys. Rev. A 78, 042325 (2008)].

Abstract:A.V. Arhangel'skii introduced the notion of an almost s-mapping. It is known that the open almost s-images of metric spaces coincide with the open boundary s-images of metric spaces. In this paper, we investigate some questions related to the sequence-covering almost s-images and sequence-covering boundary s-images of metric spaces. We establish some new characterizations of the images of metric spaces under sequence-covering and s-mappings at subsets in topological spaces. The following main results are obtained: (1) A space X has a cs*-network which is point-countable at non-isolated points if and only if X is a sequentially quotient and almost s-image of a metric space. (2) A space X has a cs-network which is point-countable at non-isolated points if and only if X is a sequence-covering and almost s-image of a metric space. (3) A space X has an sn-network which is point-countable at non-isolated points if and only if X is a 1-sequence-covering and almost s-image of a metric space. (4) A space X is a cs f -countable space if and only if X is a sequence-covering (resp., sequentially quotient) and boundary s-image of a metric space. On countable tightness type properties of spaces of quasicontinuous functions

Abstract:In this paper we get characterizations countable tightness, countable fan-tightness and countable strong fan-tightness of spaces of quasicontinuous functions with the topology of pointwise convergence from a open Whyburn $T_2$-space $X$ into the discrete two-point space $\{0, 1\}$ through properties of $X$ determined by selection principles. These properties (e.g. $S_1(K, K)$, $K_{\Omega}$-Lindelofness, $S_1(K_{\Omega}, K_{\Omega})$) were defined by M. Scheepers and studied in theory of selection principles in the class of metric spaces. For any cardinal number $\kappa$, we get a functional characterization of $\kappa^+$-Lusin space in class of separable metrizable spaces through tightness of compact subsets of a space of quasicontinuous real-valued functions with the topology of pointwise convergence.

Abstract:With a commutative unital quantale $L$ as the truth value table, this study focuses on the representations of $L$-domains by means of $L$-closure spaces. First, the notions of interpolative generalized $L$-closure spaces and directed closed sets are introduced. It is proved that in an interpolative generalized $L$-closure space (resp., $L$-closure space), the collection of directed closed sets with respect to the inclusion $L$-order forms a continuous $L$-dcpo (resp., an algebraic $L$-dcpo). Conversely, it is shown that every continuous $L$-dcpo (resp., algebraic $L$-dcpo) can be reconstructed by an interpolative generalized $L$-closure space (resp., $L$-closure space). Second, when $L$ is integral, the notion of dense subspaces of generalized $L$-closure spaces is introduced. By means of dense subspaces, an alternative representation for algebraic $L$-dcpos is given. Moreover, the concept of $L$-approximable relations between interpolative generalized $L$-closure spaces is introduced. Consequently, a categorical equivalence between the category of interpolative generalized $L$-closure spaces (resp., $L$-closure spaces) with $L$-approximable relations and that of continuous $L$-dcpos (resp., algebraic $L$-dcpos) with Scott continuous mappings is established.

Abstract:We study the remainders of locally s-spaces and locally Lindelöf Σ-spaces. It is proved that a space X is a locally s-space if and only if every (some) remainder Y of X is a Lindelöf Σ-space outside of some compact subspace F of Y. Some corollaries about this statement are presented. It is showed that if a locally s-space X has a remainder Y with a Gδ⁎-diagonal, then X is an s-space and Y has a countable network. It is also proved that every remainder Y of a locally Lindelöf Σ-space X is an s-space outside of some compact subspace F of Y. In addition, some properties about locally s-spaces are investigated.
C-open Sets on Topological Spaces

Abstract:An open (resp., closed) subset A of a topological space (X, T ) is called C-open (resp., C-closed) set if cl(A) \ A (resp., A \ int(A)) is a countable set. This paper aims to present the concept of C-open and C-closed sets. We first investigate their basic properties. Then, we found some operators such as interior, closure, limit, border, and frontier using C-open and C-closed sets. The relationships between them are clarified and discussed. Finally, we exhibit continuous maps and compact space defined using C-open and C-closed sets and scrutinize their main properties.

Abstract:A classical branched cover is an open surjection of compact Hausdorff spaces with uniformly bounded finite fibers and analogously, a quantum branched cover is a unital $C^*$ embedding admitting a finite-index expectation. We show that whenever a compact Hausdorff space $Z$ contains a one-point compactification of an uncountable set, the incidence correspondence attached to the space of cardinality-$(\le n)$ subsets of $Z$ (for $n\ge 3$) is a classical branched cover that does not dualize to a quantum one. In particular, when $Z$ is dyadic, the resulting $C^*$ embeddings are quantum branched covers precisely when $Z$ is also metrizable. This provides a partial converse to an earlier result of the author's (to the effect that continuous, unital, subhomogeneous $C^*$ bundles over compact metrizable spaces are quantum branched) and settles negatively a question of Blanchard-Gogić. There are also some positive results identifying classes of compact Hausdorff spaces (e.g. extremally disconnected or orderable) with the property that all (continuous, unital) $C^*$ bundles based thereon are quantum branched.

Abstract:Topological properties of compactly-fibered coset spaces are investigated. It is proved that for a compactly-fibered coset space X with Nag(X) <= tau, the closure of a family of G(tau)-sets is also a G(tau)-set in X. We also show that the equation chi(X) = pi chi(X) holds for any compactly-fibered coset space X. A Dichotomy Theorem for compactly-fibered coset spaces is established: every remainder of such a space has the Baire property, or is sigma-compact.

Abstract:The authors' primary goal in this paper is to enhance the study of topological spaces by using the order of specialization of a -space to introduce the lower topology (with a subbasis of closed sets ) and studying the interaction of the original topology and the lower topology. Using the lower topology, one can define and study new properties of the original space that provide deeper insight into its structure. One focus of study is the property R, which asserts that if the intersection of a family of finitely generated sets , finite, is contained in an open set , then the same is true for finitely many of the family. We first show that property R is equivalent to several other interesting properties, for example, the property that all closed subsets of the original space are compact in the lower topology. We then find conditions under which these spaces are compact, well-filtered, and coherent, a weaker variant of stably compact spaces. We also investigate what have been called strong -spaces, develop some of their basic properties, and make connections with the earlier considerations involving spaces satisfying property R. Two key results we obtain are that if a dcpo with the Scott topology is a strong -space, then it is well-filtered, and if additionally the Scott topology of the product is the product of the Scott topologies of the factors, then the Scott space of is sober. We also exhibit connections of this work with de Groot duality.

Abstract:De Finetti theorems tell us that if we expect the likelihood of outcomes to be independent of their order, then these sequences of outcomes could be equivalently generated by drawing an experiment at random from a distribution, and repeating it over and over. In particular, the quantum de Finetti theorem says that exchangeable sequences of quantum states are always represented by distributions over a single state produced over and over. The main result of this paper is that this quantum de Finetti construction has a universal property as a categorical limit. This allows us to pass canonically between categorical treatments of finite dimensional quantum theory and the infinite dimensional. The treatment here is through understanding properties of (co)limits with respect to the contravariant functor which takes a C*-algebra describing a physical system to its convex, compact space of states, and through discussion of the Radon probability monad. We also show that the same categorical analysis also justifies a continuous de Finetti theorem for classical probability.

On the variety of X-states

Abstract:We introduce the notion of an X-state on $n$-qubits. After taking the Zariski closure of the set of X-states in the space of all mixed states, we obtain a complex algebraic variety $\scr X$ that is equipped with the action of the Lie group of local symmetries $G$. We show that the field of $G$-invariant rational functions on $\scr X$ is purely transcendental over the complex numbers of degree $2^{2n-1}-n-1$.

Characterizing common cause closedness of quantum probability theories

Abstract:We prove new results on common cause closedness of quantum probability spaces, where by a quantum probability space is meant the projection lattice of a non-commutative von Neumann algebra together with a countably additive probability measure on the lattice. Common cause closedness is the feature that for every correlation between a pair of commuting projections there exists in the lattice a third projection commuting with both of the correlated projections and which is a Reichenbachian common cause of the correlation. The main result we prove is that a quantum probability space is common cause closed if and only if it has at most one measure theoretic atom. This result improves earlier ones published in Z. GyenisZ and M. Redei Erkenntnis 79 (2014) 435-451. The result is discussed from the perspective of status of the Common Cause Principle. Open problems on common cause closedness of general probability spaces $(\mathcal{L},\phi)$ are formulated, where $\mathcal{L}$ is an orthomodular bounded lattice and $\phi$ is a probability measure on $\mathcal{L}$.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce some versions of relative connectedness of subspaces of a topological space and we give some facts and relations among them. We prove that these relative versions satisfy some of the classical properties of connectedness. Additionally, we apply our results to the theory of hyperspaces, aiming to address a general problem posed by Arhangel'skii (Comment Math Univ Carolin 36:305–325, 1995, Problem 3).
