Abstract:A space X is almost countably compact if for every countable open cover u of X, there exists a finite subset nu of u such that boolean OR {(V) over bar: V is an element of nu} = X. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between almost countably compact spaces and countably compact spaces, and also study topological properties of almost countably compact spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, some features of countably $\alpha$-compact topological spaces are presented and proven. The connection between countably $\alpha$% -compact, Tychonoff, and $\alpha$-Hausdorff spaces is explained. The space is countably $\alpha$-compact space iff every locally finite family of non-empty subsets of such space is finite is demonstrated. The countably $% \alpha$-compact space with weight greater than or equal to $\aleph_0$ is the $\alpha$-continuous image of a closed subspace of the cube $D^{\aleph_0}$ is discussed. The boundedness of $\alpha$-continuous functions mapping $\alpha$% -compact spaces to other spaces is cleared. Moreover, the $\alpha$% -continuous function mapping the space $X$ to the countably $\alpha$-compact space $Y$ is an $\alpha$-closed subset of $X\times Y$ is argued and proved. We explained that the $\alpha$-continuous functions mapping any topological space to a countably $\alpha$-compact space can be extended over its domain under some constraints. We claimed that the property of being $\alpha$% -compact is countably $\alpha$-compact but the converse is not and the countable union of countably $\alpha$-compact subspaces of $X$ is also countably $\alpha$-compact.

Abstract:For a space X let be the set of compact subsets of X ordered by inclusion. A map is a relative Tukey quotient if it carries compact covers to compact covers. When there is such a Tukey quotient write , and write if and vice versa. We investigate the initial structure of pairs under the relative Tukey order, focussing on the case of separable metrizable spaces. Connections are made to Menger spaces. Applications are given demonstrating the diversity of free topological groups, and related free objects, over separable metrizable spaces. It is shown a topological group G has the countable chain condition if it is either -pseudocompact or for some separable metrizable M, we have .

Abstract:A fuzzy compactum in a space X is an upper semi-continuous map <math>f:A→[0,1]</math> from a nonempty compact subspace <math>A⊂X</math> to the unit closed interval <math>[0,1]</math> such that <math>{x∈A:f(x)>0}</math> is dense in A. In this paper, we investigate the topological structure of the space <math>Ke(X)</math> of fuzzy compacta of a separable metric space X with the Hausdorff metric. In particular, we prove that <math>Ke(X)≈ℓ2</math> if X is an infinite, locally compact, locally connected, connected and separable metric space.

We establish a Baire Category theorem like result in Hausdorff, Pseudocompacts spaces. We investigate few relationships among separability, almost separability, sequential separability, strongly sequential separability.

The concept of almost Chebyshev sets with respect to bounded subsets is introduced. It is proved that each closed subset in a reflexive locally uniformly convex (uniformly convex, respectively) Banach space is an almost Chebyshev subset with respect to compact convex subsets (bounded convex subsets and bounded subsets, respectively).

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate various cardinal properties of the space $Q_{C}X$ of all real-valued quasicontinuous functions on the topological space $X$, under the topology of uniform convergence on compact subsets. It begins by examining the relationship between tightness and other properties in the context of the space $X$, highlighting results such as the alignment of tightness $Q_{C}X$ with the compact Lindelöf number of $X$ under Hausdorff conditions and the countable tightness of $Q_{C}X$ when $X$ is second countable. Further investigations reveal conditions for the tightness of $Q_{C}X$ relative to $k$-covers of $X$, as well as connections between density tightness, fan tightness, and other properties in Hausdorff spaces. Additionally, we discuss the implications of the Frechet-Urysohn property $Q_{C}X$ for open $k$-covers in Hausdorff spaces. We explore relationships between $Q_{C}X$'s tightness, the Frechet-Urysohn property, and the $\sigma$-compactness of locally compact Hausdorff spaces $X$. Furthermore, we examine the $k_{f}$-covering property and the existence of $k$-covers in the context of Whyburn spaces.

Abstract:Almost ss-mappings and almost compact mappings have been introduced and studied. In this article, we continue to research some questions related to the almost s-images (resp., almost compact images) of metric spaces. The following results are obtained. (1) A space XX is a quotient and almost compact image of a metric space if and only if XX is a sequential space having a cs∗c{s}^{\ast }-network which is point-regular at nonisolated points, which gives an affirmative answer to Question 4.9 in the article “S. Lin, X. W. Ling, and Y. Ge, Point-regular covers and sequence-covering compact mappings, Topology Appl. 271 (2020), 106987.” (2) There exists a bi-quotient and almost compact image of a metric space satisfying no base, which is point-countable at nonisolated points, which gives negative answers to Question 3.1 in the article “X. W. Ling and S. Lin, On open almost s-images of metric spaces, Adv. Math. (China) 48 (2019), no. 4, 489–496” and Question 3.7 in the article “X. W. Ling, S. Lin, and W. On countable tightness type properties of spaces of quasicontinuous functions

Abstract:In this paper we get characterizations countable tightness, countable fan-tightness and countable strong fan-tightness of spaces of quasicontinuous functions with the topology of pointwise convergence from a open Whyburn $T_2$-space $X$ into the discrete two-point space $\{0, 1\}$ through properties of $X$ determined by selection principles. These properties (e.g. $S_1(K, K)$, $K_{\Omega}$-Lindelofness, $S_1(K_{\Omega}, K_{\Omega})$) were defined by M. Scheepers and studied in theory of selection principles in the class of metric spaces. For any cardinal number $\kappa$, we get a functional characterization of $\kappa^+$-Lusin space in class of separable metrizable spaces through tightness of compact subsets of a space of quasicontinuous real-valued functions with the topology of pointwise convergence.

Abstract:A topological space X is called almost discrete, if it has precisely one nonisolated point. In this paper, we get that for a countable product X=∏Xi of almost discrete spaces Xi the space Cp(X) of all continuous real-valued functions with the topology of pointwise convergence is a μ -space if, and only if, X is a weak q -space if, and only if, t(X)=ω if, and only if, X is functionally generated by the family of all its countable subspaces. This result makes it possible to solve Archangel'skii's problem on the product of Grothendieck spaces. It is proved that in the model of ZFC , obtained by adding one Cohen real, there are Grothendieck spaces X and Y such that X×Y is not weakly Grothendieck space. In (PFA) : the product of any countable family almost discrete Grothendieck spaces is a Grothendieck space.

Abstract:The famous Ascoli-Arzelà theorem served as a springboard for research into compactness in function spaces, particularly spaces of continuous functions. This paper investigates compact subsets of spaces of continuous functions endowed with topologies between the topology of pointwise convergence and the topology of uniform convergence. More precisely, this paper studies necessary and sufficient conditions for a subset to be compact in C λ , u ( X ) for a locally- λ space X when λ ⊇ F( X ), for a hemi- λ λ f -space X when λ ⊆ P S( X ), and for a k -space X when λ ⊇ K( X ). This paper also studies that every bounded subset of C λ , u ( X ) has compact closure for some classes of topological spaces X .

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the compactifications of some topological spaces such that their remainders have countable tightness. We also study addition theorems for compacta. The main results are: (1) If bX is a compactification of a first-countable space X with a Gδ-diagonal (or a space X with a point-countable base) and bX∖X has countable tightness, then both bX and bX∖X have countable fan-tightness; (2) If a non-locally compact paratopological group G has a compactification bG such that the remainder bG∖G is the union of a finite family of metrizable subspaces, then G is locally separable and locally metrizable; (3) If a compact Hausdorff space Z=X∪Y, where X is a non-locally compact topological group which is a σ-space and dense in Z, and Y is a semitopological group, then Z is separable and metrizable; (4) If a compact Hausdorff space Z=X∪Y, where X is a non-locally compact paratopological group that has a countable network and is dense in Z, and Y is a semitopological group, then Z is separable and metrizable. Among them (2) and (3) improve the corresponding results given by A.V. Arhangel'skii in [7].

Abstract:We consider two natural topologies on the space $S(X\times Y,Z)$ of all separately continuous functions defined on the product of two topological spaces $X$ and $Y$ and ranged into a topological or metric space $X$. These topologies are the cross-open topology and the cross-uniform topology. We show that these topologies coincides if $X$ and $Y$ are pseudocompacts and $Z$ is a metric space. We prove that a compact space $K$ embeds into $S(X\times Y,Z)$ for infinite compacts $X$, $Y$ and a metrizable space $Z\supseteq\mathbb{R}$ if and only if the weight of $K$ is less than the sharp cellularity of both spaces $X$ and $Y$.

Abstract:All spaces are assumed to be Tychonoff. Given a realcompact space X, we denote by the smallest infinite cardinal such that X is homeomorphic to a closed subspace of . Our main result shows that, given a cardinal , the following conditions are equivalent: • There exists a countable crowded space X such that . • . In fact, in the case , every countable dense subspace of provides such an example. This will follow from our analysis of the pseudocharacter of countable subsets of products of first-countable spaces. Finally, we show that a scattered space of weight has pseudocharacter at most in any compactification. This will allow us to calculate for an arbitrary (that is, not necessarily crowded) countable space X.

Tkachuk, we present several examples of $\sigma$-compact spaces, some only consistent and some in ZFC, that are not countably tight but in which the closure of any discrete subset is countably tight.
