Abstract:Given a polarized Kähler manifold (X,L). The space ℋ of Kähler metrics in $$ 2_\Pi {c_1}{(L)}$$ is an infinite-dimensional Riemannian symmetric space. As a metric space, it has non-positive curvature. There is associated to ℋ a sequence of finite-dimensional symmetric spaces $$ \mathcal{B}_{k}{({k}\, \epsilon \,\mathbb{N})} $$ of non-compact Type. We prove that ℋ is the limit of $$ \mathcal{B}_{k} $$ as metric spaces in certain sense. As applications, this provides more geometric proofs of certain known geometric properties of the space ℋ.
Real-analytic geodesics in the Mabuchi space of Kähler metrics and quantization

Abstract:We prove the convergence of quantized Bergman geodesics to the Mabuchi geodesics for the initial value problem, in the case of real-analytic initial data and in short time. This partially solves a conjecture of Y. Rubinstein and the last author. We also argue against the existence of a solution to the boundary value problem, generically in real-analytic regularity.

Abstract:This paper, the second of a series, deals with the function space R of all smooth Kahler metrics in any given n-dimensional, closed complex manifold V, these metrics being restricted to a given, fixed, real cohomology class, called a polarization of V. This function space is equipped with a pre-Hilbert metric structure introduced by T. Mabuchi [10], who also showed that, formally, this metric has nonpositive curvature. In the first paper of this series [4], the second author showed that the same space is a path length space. He also proved that 7 is geodesically convex in the sense that, for any two points of H, there is a unique geodesic path joining them, which is always length minimizing and of class C-1,C-1. This partially verifies two conjectures of Donaldson [8] on the subject. In the present paper, we show first of all, that the space is, as expected, a path length space of nonpositive curvature in the sense of A. D. Aleksandrov. A second result is related to the theory of extremal Kahler metrics, namely that the gradient flow in H of the "K energy" of V has the property that it strictly decreases the length of all paths in H, except those induced by one parameter families of holomorphic automorphisms of M.

Abstract:In this paper, we first prove a folklore conjecture on a greatest lower bound of the Calabi energy in all K\"ahler manifold. Similar result in algebriac setting was obtained by S. K. Donaldson. Secondly, we give an upper/lower bound estimate of the K energy in terms of the geodesic distance and the Calabi energy. This is used to prove a theorem on convergence of K\"ahler metrics in holomorphic coordinates, with uniform bound on the Ricci curvature and the diameter. Thirdly, we set up a framework for the existence of geodesic rays when an asymptotic direction is given. I

Abstract:We partially confirm an old conjecture of Donaldson that if there exists a cscK metrics in a given K\"ahler class, then there is no degenerated geodesic ray which is tamed by a bounded ambient geometry unless it parallels to a holomorphic line consists of cscK metrics only. We also prove that for simple test configuration where the central fibre has a cscK metric, the K energy functionals in the nearby fibre must also have a uniform lower bound in its underlying K\"ahler class.

Abstract:We prove that constant scalar curvature K\"ahler metric "adjacent" to a fixed K\"ahler class is unique up to isomorphism. This extends the uniqueness theorem of Donaldson and Chen-Tian, and formally fits into the infinite dimensional G.I.T picture described by Donaldson. We prove that the Calabi flow near a cscK metric exists globally and converges uniformly to a cscK metric in a polynomial rate. Viewed in a K\"ahler class, the Calabi flow is also shown to be asymptotic to a smooth geodesic ray at infinity. This latter fact is also interesting in the finite dimensional analogue, where we show that the downward gradient flow of the Kempf-Ness function in a semi-stable orbit is asymptotic to the direction of optimal degeneration.

Abstract:We construct a quantization of the moduli space of maximal globally hyperbolic Lorentzian metrics on with constant sectional curvature , for a punctured surface S . Although this moduli space is known to be symplectomorphic to the cotangent bundle of the Teichmüller space of S independently of the value of , we define geometrically natural classes of observables leading to -dependent quantizations. Using special coordinate systems, we first view as the set of points of a cluster -variety valued in the ring of generalized complex numbers . We then develop an -version of the quantum theory for cluster -varieties by establishing -versions of the quantum dilogarithm function. As a consequence, we obtain three families of projective unitary representations of the mapping class group of S . For these representations recover those of Fock and Goncharov, while for the representations are new.

Abstract:Donaldson conjectured \cite{Dona96} that the space of K\"ahler metrics is geodesic convex by smooth geodesic and that it is a metric space. Following Donaldson's program, we verify the second part of Donaldson's conjecture completely and verify his first part partially. We also prove that the constant scalar curvature metric is unique in {\bf each} Kähler class if the first Chern class is either strictly negative or 0. Furthermore, if $C_1 \leq 0,$ the constant scalar curvature metric realizes the global minimum of Mabuchi energy functional; thus it provides a new obstruction for the existence of constant curvature metric: if the infimum of Mabuchi energy (taken over all metrics in a fixed Kähler class) isn't bounded from below, then there doesn't exist a constant curvature metric. This extends the work of Mabuchi and Bando\cite{Bando87}: they showed that Mabuchi energy bounded from below is a necessary condition for the existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics in the first Chern class.

Abstract:We discover a “no semistability at infinity” phenomenon for complete Calabi-Yau metrics asymptotic to cones, which is proved by eliminating the possible appearance of an intermediate K-semistable cone in the 2-step degeneration theory developed by Donaldson and the first author. It is in sharp contrast to the setting of local singularities of Kähler-Einstein metrics. A byproduct of the proof is a polynomial convergence rate to the asymptotic cone for such manifolds, which bridges the gap between the general theory of Colding-Minicozzi and the classification results of Conlon-Hein.

Abstract:In recent years, there are many progress made in Kähler geometry. Inparticular, the topics related to the problems of the existence and uniquenessof extremal Kähler metrics, as well as obstructions to the existence of suchmetrics in general Kähler manifold. In this talk, we will report some recentdevelopments in this direction. In particular, we will discuss the progressrecently obtained in understanding the metric structure of the infinitedimensional space of Kaehler potentials, and their applications to the problemsmentioned above. We also will discuss some recent on Kaehler Ricci flow.
Uniqueness of Extremal Kähler Metrics

Abstract:In the infinite dimensional space of Kahler potentials, the geodesic equation of disc type is a complex homogenous Monge-Amp re equation. The partial regularity theory established by Chen and Tian [C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 340 (5) (2005)] amounts to an improvement of the regularity of the known C-1,C-1 solution to the geodesic of disc type to almost everywhere smooth. For such an almost smooth solution, we prove that the K-energy functional is sub-harmonic along such a solution. We use this to prove the uniqueness of extremal Kahler metrics and to establish a lower bound for the modified K-energy if the underlying Kahler class admits an extremal Kahler metric. Conical Kähler–Einstein Metrics Revisited

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the “interpolation–degeneration” strategy to study Kähler–Einstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By “interpolation” we show the angles in (0, 2π] that admit a conical Kähler–Einstein metric form a connected interval, and by “degeneration” we determine the boundary of the interval in some important cases. As a first application, we show that there exists a Kähler–Einstein metric on ${\mathbb{P}^2}$ with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (π/2, 2π]. When the angle is 2π/3 this proves the existence of a Sasaki–Einstein metric on the link of a three dimensional A 2 singularity, and thus answers a question posed by Gauntlett–Martelli–Sparks–Yau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldson’s conjecture about conical Kähler–Einstein metrics in the toric case using Song–Wang’s recent existence result of toric invariant conical Kähler–Einstein metrics.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a compact Kähler manifold and $D$ be a simple normal crossing divisor on $X$ such that $K_X+D$ is big and nef. We first prove that the singular Kähler--Einstein metric constructed by Berman--Guenancia is almost-complete on $X \backslash D$ in the sense of Tian--Yau. In our second main result, we establish the weak convergence of conic Kähler--Einstein metrics of negative curvature to the above-mentioned metric when $K_X+D$ is merely big, answering partly a recent question posed by Biquard--Guenancia. Potentials of low energy play an important role in our approach.

Quantization of symplectic fibrations and canonical metrics

Abstract:We relate Berezin-Toeplitz quantization of higher rank vector bundles to quantum-classical hybrid systems and quantization in stages of symplectic fibrations. We apply this picture to the analysis and geometry of vector bundles, including the spectral gap of the Berezin transform and the convergence rate of Donaldson's iterations towards balanced metrics on stable vector bundles. We also establish refined estimates in the scalar case to compute the rate of Donaldson's iterations towards balanced metrics on Kähler manifolds with constant scalar curvature.

Abstract:We prove that any two Kähler potentials on a compact Kähler manifold can be connected by a geodesic segment of C^1,1 regularity. This follows from an a priori interior real Hessian bound for solutions of the nondegenerate complex Monge-Ampère equation, which is independent of a positive lower bound for the right hand side.

Abstract:In the first part of this paper we outline the constructions and properties of Fedosov star product and Berezin-Toeplitz star product. In the second part we outline the basic ideas and recent developments on Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture on the existence of Kähler metrics of constant scalar curvature. In the third part of the paper we outline recent results of both authors, and in particular show that the constant scalar curvature Kähler metric problem and the study of deformation quantization meet at the notion of trace (density) for star product. We formulate a cohomology formula for the invariant of K-stability condition on Kähler metrics with constant Cahen-Gutt momentum.

Abstract:We establish a uniform Sobolev inequality for Kähler metrics, which only require an entropy bound and no lower bound on the Ricci curvature. We further extend our Sobolev inequality to singular Kähler metrics on Kähler spaces with normal singularities. This allows us to build a general theory of global geometric analysis on singular Kähler spaces including the spectral theorem, heat kernel estimates, eigenvalue estimates and diameter estimates. Such estimates were only known previously in very special cases such as Bergman metrics. As a consequence, we derive various geometric estimates, such as the diameter estimate and the Sobolev inequality, for Kähler-Einstein currents on projective varieties with definite or vanishing first Chern class.

Categorical quantization on Kähler manifolds

Abstract:Generalizing deformation quantizations with separation of variables of a Kähler manifold $M$, we adopt Fedosov's gluing argument to construct a category $\mathsf{DQ}$, enriched over sheaves of $\mathbb{C}[[\hbar]]$-modules on $M$, as a quantization of the category of Hermitian holomorphic vector bundles over $M$ with morphisms being smooth sections of hom-bundles. We then define quantizable morphisms among objects in $\mathsf{DQ}$, generalizing Chan-Leung-Li's notion [4] of quantizable functions. Upon evaluation of quantizable morphisms at $\hbar = \tfrac{\sqrt{-1}}{k}$, we obtain an enriched category $\mathsf{DQ}_{\operatorname{qu}, k}$. We show that, when $M$ is prequantizable, $\mathsf{DQ}_{\operatorname{qu}, k}$ is equivalent to the category $\mathsf{GQ}$ of holomorphic vector bundles over $M$ with morphisms being holomorphic differential operators, via a functor obtained from Bargmann-Fock actions.

Abstract:We study the fuzzy spaces (as special examples of noncommutative manifolds) with their quasicoherent states in order to find their pertinent metrics. We show that they are naturally endowed with two natural "quantum metrics" which are associated with quantum fluctuations of "paths". The first one provides the length the mean path whereas the second one provides the average length of the fluctuated paths. Onto the classical manifold associated with the quasicoherent state (manifold of the mean values of the coordinate observables in the state minimising their quantum uncertainties) these two metrics provides two minimising geodesic equations. Moreover, fuzzy spaces being not torsion free, we have also two different autoparallel geodesic equations associated with two different adiabatic regimes in the move of a probe onto the fuzzy space. We apply these mathematical results to quantum gravity in BFSS matrix models, and to the quantum information theory of a controlled qubit submitted to noises of a large quantum environment.
