Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the prevalence of childhood sexual abuse(CSA) in female junior college students and explore the implication of being abused. 【Methods】 A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 358 female junior college students by anonymous self-administered questionnaire in November 2003.They were asked a series of retrospective questions about sexual harassment and physical abuse as a child. 【Results】 Among this sample,73(20.4%) had experienced CSA(positive in any one of ten forms of non-physical contact or physical contact before the age of 16).Six(1.7%) experienced abuse involving attempted intercourse and two(0.6%) experienced abuse involving completed intercourse.The age at first episodes of 50.7% CSA was 11 years old.When she was 16 years ago,whether her father or mother excessive drinking and what family members lived with her was concerned with occur of CSA.Comparing those with no history of CSA,the victims had higher score in SCL-90,higher score in depression and anxiety factor. 【Conclusion】 Childhood sexual abuse may be not uncommon in girls and has negative influence on mental health of the victim.
