Diagnosis and Treatment of Metanephric Adenoma: Report of 2 Cases and Literature Review

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical, radiological and histopathologic features of metanephric adenoma(MA). Methods 2 cases of MA were reported and literatures were reviewed. The clinical, radiological and histopathologic features, as well as diagnosis and treatment of MA were also discussed. Results MA has no typical clinical and radiological features but unique histopathologic structures. Immunohistochemistry staining contributes to a clear diagnosis. Conclusions MA is a rare benign renal tumor, and it has neither typical clinical nor radiological features. Based on its histopathologic characteristics and immunohistochemical staining, a clear diagnosis was made. Partial nephrectomy is safe and feasible for these patients, however, long-time close follow-up is necessary.
