Down to the Earth: The Reflection of Senior High School Curriculum Reform and Concern for Its Future Development ——Interviews with Scholars in Natural Science at Zhejiang University

Abstract:More than ten years implementation of curriculum reform in senior high schools has accumulated plenty theoretical and practical experiences and achievements. However,as the senior high school curriculum reform is more complex and difficult,it draws more attention from the public, which makes the reform full of confrontations and controversies. In order to clarify the basic rationale and direction of senior high school curriculum reform,help the field to focus on the most crucial and fundamental issues,five senior experts in the field of natural science at Zhejiang University are invited to share their thinking on curriculum reform at senior high school level. The experts reflect on the reality of curriculum reform concerning for the essential aim of education,children’s life-long development,as well as the development of the whole society. They remind us to be alert to the problems and traps in the curriculum reform,reducing the bookishness,doctrinarism,utilitarianism in carrying out the reform,but more pedagogical pursuit for the development of real person,more authentic,down to the earth researches and practices of the reform. They finally provide some insightful reflections and prophetic expectations on what should be adhered to and what need to be explored during the curriculum reform.
