Abstract:The species of Gymnopilus (Hymenogastraceae, Agricales) are commonly recognized as wood-decaying fungi. Certain members of this genus have been identified as psilocybin-producing mushrooms. Gymnopilus exhibits a diverse range and has a global distribution. In this study, a total of seventy-eight specimens were gathered from ten provinces in China. A comprehensive molecular phylogenetic analysis was conducted, employing gene sequences including ITS, nrLSU, nrSSU, rpb1, rpb2, and tef1-α. Additionally, morphological examinations were also carried out. The phylogenetic topology of Gymnopilus from this study generally agreed with previous studies and facilitated the identification of all those specimens. As a result, eleven species, including five newly discovered ones named Gy. gyirongensis, Gy. variisporus, Gy. tomentosiceps, Gy. tenuibasidialis, and Gy. aurantipileatus, were recognized. Significantly, four of the five newly identified species are native to the Xizang Autonomous Region, emphasizing their specialization in this distinctive habitat. This research contributes to our comprehension of Gymnopilus diversity and lays the groundwork for the conservation and sustainable utilization of Gymnopilus resources.

Abstract:Known species and their names of genus Cordyceps(Ascomycota)from China are sorted out, amended and briefly discussed in this paper.Up to now,139 names have been reported.They are dis- tributed in 29 provinces and regions of China.Among them,125 species,3 varieties and 2 forma are rec- ognized,3 are invalidation,2 are misspelled,4 are suspicious,38 have anamorph,and 46 are endemic to china.

Abstract:A total of 25 species belonging to order Gymnodiniales were identified in the coastal area of China,however, not all the Chinese names of these species were uniformly and regularly used.This research described the history of nomenclature of 13 species of which the Chinese names were thought to be not scientific or not presented before, including the finding,the denomination and change of both generic and specific names,and with the meaning of valid name and the morphology characteristics being considered,the most scientific Chinese name for each specie which can show its taxonomic status accurately was finally established.The Chinese names of 12 other species were comparatively appropriate and accepted by almost all the researchers.The valid name and Chinese name of all these 25 species were presented at last in this paper.

Abstract:China is one of the diversity centers of gymnosperms. Nearly one-fifth (195 species) of gymnosperms are located in China, but 69 species are threatened. To date, the conservation status of gymnosperms, especially threatened gymnosperms in China, remains largely unknown, which seriously restricts the comprehensive protection of gymnosperms. Understanding the distribution pattern of species richness and exploring the relationships between species richness and environmental factors are key steps for their protection. In this study, we first constructed a database for the 69 threatened species of gymnosperms with 13 270 distribution records. It is found that 31 of the grid cells (50 × 50 km) cover all threatened gymnosperm species in China, and the grid cells of threatened gymnosperms are mainly distributed in the southern area of the Yellow River, with a distribution center in the Western Sichuan Plateau. Then, we evaluated the conservation status of threatened gymnosperms, and the results indicate that 9 (13%) threatened gymnosperms are distributed outside of nature reserves. Therefore, there are still conservation gaps in the protection of threatened gymnosperms in China. We should give more attention to unprotected threatened gymnosperms and conduct taxonomic studies on the species without detailed distribution records. Finally, conservation priority areas and priority conservation levels of threatened gymnosperms in China were proposed. The Western Sichuan Plateau is the most important conservation priority area of threatened gymnosperms. This study will shed light on plant protection and forest management in China.

Abstract:A new species, Gymnopus alliifoetidissimus, is described from China. It represents the first new species of Gymnopus sect. Impudicae for this country. It is characterized by its small, white basidiomata with a strong alliaceous smell. Additionally, G. densilamellatus and G. similis, originally described from South Korea, are reported as new records to China. Detailed descriptions, colour photographs, illustrations of microcharacters and phylogenetic analyses based on nrDNA (ITS1-5.8S-ITS2-nrLSU) are presented. All known Chinese species were summarised in a preliminary report based on relevant literature and this study, and a key to the reported species of G. sect. Impudicae from China is provided.

Abstract:Species of Gyroporus from southern China were studied in this study. Based on morphology and molecular phylogenetic analyses of DNA sequences from the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS), the nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nrLSU), and the mitochondrial adenosine triphosphate ATP synthase subunit 6 (atp6), Gyroporus was divided into four main branches in the phylogenetic tree, and four sections were firstly proposed i.e. Gyroporus sect. Castaneus, G. sect. Cyanescens, G. sect. Longicystidiatus and G. sect. Pallidus. Five new species, i.e. G. alboluteus, G. atrocyanescens, G. pseudolongicystidiatus, G. pallidus and G. subcaerulescens, were revealed from China, and their phylogenetic positions were also analysed. Among them, G. alboluteus and G. pallidus were nested into the sect. Pallidus, although morphologically similar to G. castaneus; G. atrocyanescens and G. subcaerulescens, with obvious cyanescent oxidation reactions, were nested into the sect. Cyanescens; and G. pseudolongicystidiatus characterised by its long cystidia and was nested into the sect. Longicystidiatus. The new species were formally described and illustrated in the present study, and a key to the sections and species of Gyroporus in China was provided.

Abstract:Based on phylogenetic analyses, some newly studied Chinese mushroom specimens were found to represent two distinct species within the genus Gymnopus. Along with G. fusipes (sect. Gymnopus) they form a distinct clade with high support, although their macromorphological characters seem to be closer to members of Gymnopus sect. Levipedes or sect. Vestipedes (Collybiopsis). When examined in detail, their micromorphological characters, especially the type of pileipellis, support them as new members of G. sect. Gymnopus. Therefore, two new species, G. omphalinoides and G. schizophyllus, and the emended circumscription of sect. Gymnopus are proposed in this paper. Detailed morphological descriptions, colour photos, illustrations of the two new species, morphological comparisons with similar taxa and the molecular-phylogenetic analyses of the combined nrITS and nrLSU data are presented. A key to the known species of G. sect. Gymnopus is also presented.

Abstract:Gongronella had accommodated only two species for more than half a century and as many as 17 new species have been described in this genus since 2015. However, no systematic studies were conducted for this genus so far. The distribution, substrate and morphology of all known species in Gongronella are analysed herein. Meanwhile, with the support of phylogenetic and morphological evidence, six new species (G. abortosporangiasp. nov., G. apophysatasp. nov., G. bawanglingensissp. nov., G. inconstanssp. nov., G. pingtangensissp. nov. and G. reniformissp. nov.) are proposed and G. pamphilae is recorded from China for the first time. The phylogenetic tree was constructed using ITS+LSU+TEF+ACT+RPB1 and the results were basically the same as ITS+LSU. All species of Gongronella, except G. namwonensis from fresh water, were isolated from soil. The genus is distributed worldwide, mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. A synoptic key is provided for a total of 24 species (18 species previously published and six species newly described herein), except for G. banzhaoae due to unavailable protologue, type and living culture. No morphologies were described when G. pamphilae was proposed. Thanks to the strains isolated in this study, G. pamphilae is included in the key and reported as a Chinese new record. This is the first comprehensive taxonomy and phylogeny of the genus Gongronella.

Abstract:An updated catalog of the infraorder Nepomorpha from China is provided based on literature reports, museum specimens, and field collections. In total, 214 species of Nepomorpha are listed in 6 superfamilies, 11 families, and 37 genera, including: Aphelocheiridae (1 genus, 27 species), Belostomatidae (3 genera, 7 species), Corixidae (9 genera, 52 species), Gelastocoridae (1 genus, 3 species), Helotrephidae (5 genera, 25 species), Micronectidae (1 genus, 28 species), Naucoridae (7 genera, 12 species), Nepidae (5 genera, 21 species), Notonectidae (4 genera, 32 species), Ochteridae (1 genus, 2 species) and Pleidae (1 genus, 5 species). Paraplea liturata (Fieber, 1844) is reported from mainland China for the first time. Distribution maps are provided for most species and are based on museum specimens and our field collections.

Abstract:The new species, Phallus tenuissimus, and P. formosanus, new to Mainland China, are described and illustrated. Both species were collected from within Yunnan Province, China: P. tenuissimus in the Wuliangshan Nature Reserve and P. formosanus in the Yingjiang Nature Reserve. A key to Phallus species known from China is also presented, and an interesting native Chinese species Dictyophora nanchangensis is discussed.

Abstract:The taxonomic identification of Eymnoidiniales is the basis for its physiological ecology and red tide research.Based on water and net phytoplankton samples collected from Chinese offshore investigation by The First Institute of Oceanography,SOA in recent years,the identification of gymnoids and systemic taxonomy work were carried out with the purpose to improve the taxonomic system of gymnoids in China and provide basic information for identification of gymnoids in coasts of China.25species of Gymnodiniales were preliminarily identified,6of them were recorded for the first time in China.These 25species belong to 15genera of 5families according to our research here,descriptions and photos of each species are presented in this paper.

Abstract:Eight species of Dolichopus Latreille were previously recorded in Inner Mongolia. However, there have been only a few studies on their potential distribution. Here, three newly discovered species from Inner Mongolia are described, namely Dolichopus (Dolichopus) apicimaculatus sp. nov., Dolichopus (Dolichopus) jiufengensis sp. nov., and Dolichopus (Dolichopus) luae sp. nov. There were also twelve known Dolichopus species that were newly recorded in Inner Mongolia, including the newly recorded subgenus Hygroceleuthus. A key to the Dolichopus species from Inner Mongolia and the potential geographic distribution of Dolichopus in Inner Mongolia were provided. Potential geographic distribution of the genus in Inner Mongolia were determined as well.
