Abstract:The design of integrated photovoltaic roof for Hangzhou Science and Technology Museum was presented.The target capacity of the PV system on the roof was designed as 100kW,and embedded modular PV modules with the power of 180W were chosen.The layout of PV modules on the roof was introduced,and the performance such as mechanical properties,power generation efficiency,and watertight were tested by experiments.The layout and connectivity of the stand were described,and the member forces and deflection under load were analyzed.The design of inverters and PV array for the PV system,design of photovoltaic convergence,and configuration of other related distribution equipments were illustrated in details,which form a complete set of user-side low-voltage grid system.

Abstract:The integration of solar PV(photovoltaic) steel structure system means that the solar PV technology is applied in the steel structure building in order to build the green energy-efficient building structures.This paper first presents the definition of a PV steel structure integration system and the classification of applying the integration system,thus summarizing all kinds of applying forms' characteristics and advantages.Afterward the paper summarizes the connection integrating technology,the design technology and construction technology of the PV steel structure integration system.At last the paper gives a brief introduction to a grid structure model's installation and connection,on which the new solar PV modules are installed.

Abstract:The rapid development of urbanization in China has led to an increase in high-rise residential buildings, leading to a surge in the construction industry. However, this prosperity has brought about a significant increase in energy consumption, prompting people's demand for alternative energy. As a solution to this problem, solar hot water systems are becoming increasingly popular in China. The following contents need to be considered in the design of solar hot water systems. The general solar hot water system consists of solar collectors, solar water distribution pipes and water storage tanks. The arrangement of the water storage tank and the water distribution pipe is matched with the design of the building, which has great influence on the operation of the solar energy in the building. With the rapid increase in building height and the increase in residents, the roof area has not changed. The architectural layout will have an impact on the absorption performance of solar radiation. Therefore, in order to optimize the use of solar energy, regional planning should be considered. Different solar radiant intensity and different locations of solar collectors will lead to different collection efficiency and hot water supply conditions of solar water heating systems. Throughout the entire process of architectural design, the application of solar energy technology in buildings also requires consideration of the operating area conditions and architectural style, in harmony with the architectural style.

Abstract:As a kind of renewable energy, solar energy is paid more and more attention all over the world. Solar energy utilization system can be classified into two categories: thermal systems which convert solar energy to thermal energy, and photovoltaic systems which convert solar energy to electrical energy. Normally, both types of the collectors are used separately. In solar thermal system, the solar thermal energy can be used for heating working fluid via a heat collector. The conventional electrical energy is used to circulate working liquid through the collector. The use of conventional electrical energy can be avoided if combination of both types of thermal collector and photovoltaic collector is hybrid in one unit named photovoltaic-thermal collector (PV/T). In order to fully develop the applications of the photovoltaic-thermal collectors and systems, more researches on performances and characteristics of the photovoltaic-thermal collectors and systems have been carried out.This paper presents the performance evaluations and applications of the photovoltaic-thermal collectors and systems. The performances of the photovoltaic-thermal air collectors and photovoltaic-thermal water collectors are analyzed and discussed. The applications of the photovoltaic-thermal systems, such as building integrated photovoltaic-thermal systems, concentrating photovoltaic-thermal systems and photovoltaic-thermal heat pump systems are presented. Abstract:Solar energy is receiving much more attentions in building energy systems in recent years. Solar thermal utilization should be based on the integration of solar collectors into buildings. The facades of buildings can be important solar collectors, and therefore become multifunctional. In addition, solar collectors can be used to enhance the appearance of the façade when considering aesthetic compatibility. Currently, the feasible approach for integration of solar collectors into buildings is to install collectors on the south tilted roofs, south walls, balconies or awnings. Experiences on solar thermal utilization were mainly introduced in this paper, which included solar hot water systems with different design methods in residential buildings and solar-powered integrated energy systems in public buildings. Then the suggestions were given. In the cities of China, an ideal opportunity to carry out solar renovation with roof-integrated collectors is in combination with the rebuilding of apartment roofs from flat to be inclined. With regard to multi-storied residential buildings, central hot water supply system and central-individual hot water supply system are more appropriate in view of aesthetic compatibility of solar collectors with building roof and convenience of management. As for public buildings, it is highly recommended to design solar-powered integrated energy systems for the purpose of high solar fraction.

Abstract:This paper aims to study the required solar panel tilt angle, area, and investment payback period for achieving zero-energy heating in historically significant courtyard-style residential buildings. The retrofitting approach involves positioning solar panels on the main building of the structure using four supports, each located at the corners, elevated from the ground and not in direct contact with the building. This approach does not alter the external envelope structure of the building, thereby preserving the authenticity of the cultural heritage. Using BESI software, we simulated the heating energy demand of the sample building. We integrated a solar heating system within the building and analyzed the optimal solar panel layout area, installation angle, and payback period for achieving zero-energy heating. This allowed the building to meet the zero-energy heating requirements. Taking the Hu Family Courtyard heritage conservation building as an example, we proposed the optimal layout plan for solar energy retrofitting.

Abstract:Solar energy as a renewable energy source is clean, economical, and environmental friendly. Hong Kong, a densely populated city in the sub-tropical region, has a good potential of applying hybrid solar technology in simultaneous generation of low-temperature-heating water and electricity. A computational thermal model was developed for analysing the annual performance of facade-integrated hybrid photovoltaic/thermal collector system for use in residential buildings of Hong Kong. Hourly simulation using Typical Meteorological Year data showed that the annual average electrical efficiency of the hybrid system is 4.3%, and the thermal efficiency is 43.3% for a west-facing wall. In most of the time within a year the water storage temperature can reach 45degreesC or more without auxiliary heating. This can fulfil many building services applications. Furthermore, the hybrid PV/T system is able to reduce the heat absorption by the building fabric by 47%, and hence lowers down the air-conditioning load in summer substantially.

Abstract:Buildings need energy including heat and electricity, and both of them can be provided by the solar systems. Solar thermal and photovoltaic systems absorb the solar energy and can supply the heat and electricity for buildings, respectively. However, for the urban residential buildings, the limited available area makes installation of the solar thermal collectors and photovoltaic modules together impossible. A hybrid photovoltaic/thermal system can simultaneously generate heat and electricity, which is deemed to be quite suitable for the urban residential buildings application. And yet, for a rural house of China, the available area for installation of the solar collectors is large but daily domestic hot water demand of a rural family is generally not exceeded 300L. If only the hybrid photovoltaic/thermal collectors are installed on the whole available area, this will lead to an overproduction of the thermal energy, especially in summer. Moreover, buildings requiring for the heat and electricity are different in different regions and different seasons. In this paper, simulation models of the solar thermal, photovoltaic and hybrid photovoltaic/thermal systems are presented, and experiments are also performed to validate the simulation results. Using the validated models, performances of the three solar systems for residential applications were predicted. And energy comparison between the three solar systems used in Hongkong, Lhasa, Shanghai and Beijing of China, respectively, were also studied. Results show that, for the urban residential building with limited available installation space, a hybrid photovoltaic/thermal system may have the largest potential for reducing the energy consumption among the solar thermal, photovoltaic and hybrid photovoltaic/thermal systems. And for a rural house with large available area, system with photovoltaic and hybrid photovoltaic/thermal modules can obtained the most net annual electricity output, and the installation area of the hybrid photovoltaic/thermal collectors mainly depended on the hot water load of the building.

Abstract:The power consumption of industrial enterprises is characterized by large power consumption and high reliability requirement, so the cost of electricity consumption is relatively high. Distributed photovoltaic power generation is clean and environmentally friendly, making full use of the roof area to generate electricity. Based on the characteristics of distributed photovoltaic and energy storage, this paper constructs the distributed optical storage model and operation strategy. In addition, this paper takes an industry as an example to carry out relevant verification and analysis.

Abstract:China is the second largest country in energy consumption. More and more energy demand pressures cause the Chinese government to review its economy and energy policies in order to support the sustainable development. In China, the building sector amounts to 27.8% total energy consumption, which is only behind the industry sector. China has abundant solar energy resource, which is extensively applied to buildings. Therefore, solar energy utilization in buildings has become one of the most important issues to help China optimize the energy proportion, increasing energy efficiency and protecting the environment. Solar energy resource and its district distribution in China are introduced in detail in this paper, and the representative solar energy application to the building sector is highlighted as well. The solar energy utilization obstacles, especially policy disadvantages in building sector in China, are reviewed. Moreover, the application prospects of solar energy in building sector are presented in combination with the China economic and household industry growth.

Abstract:This paper presents the solar-assisted enhanced ventilation of an experimental passive solar house built in Wuhan where the summer is hot and humid,while the winter is cold and dry. The house was designed specially for the composite climates in Yangtse River Area and was constructed with local building materials. A multifunctional solar system was proposed and a method for indoor ventilation was discussed. This system can basically provide thermal comfort throughout the year in composite climates,which is based on the analyses of the experimental results.
