Summary of the Research on Modern Chinese Vocabulary(2015)

Abstract:the research on modern Chinese vocabulary of 2015 has made fruitful achievements both in ontology and application. On the ontology level, there are achievements in morphology, lexicalization, lexical semantics, minority language vocabulary, and dialect words, etc. On the application level, there are achievements in vocabulary teaching and acquisition, dictionary compilation, words use and standalization, etc. On the whole, the research includes microcosmic view and macroscopic analysis, with a wider range and increasingly rich research perspective. However, there are still some research weaknesses, such as lettered-words, loanwords, Chinese information processing and cross-straits vocabulary. Their intensity, breadth and depth have yet to be further strengthened. Besides, corpus, database and other information technology are paid more attention to, which is the trend of applied lexicology development.
