Abstract:This paper elaborates the development of spatial structure in our country.Because the forms and types are colorful and incessantly innovating,it is necessary to divide spatial structure by component elements.After the 21th century,the development of our nation’s spatial structure comes into a new period that the application range and fields for spatial structure extend continuously.Besides the large-span public buildings such as gymnasiums and airports,there are extensive and innovative applications including large-scale railway stations,stations awning without column,bridges and high-rise buildings for spatial structure.About the international cooperation,it is suggested to have an open mind and optimistic view towards the fact that that architecture scheme for our nation’s spatial structures are frequently led by foreign companies.China is already a country with a great deal of the top of the world spatial structures,thus it is our responsibility to strive to create even better and advanced spatial structures.Some issues which we should pay more attention are pointed out.

Abstract:The subject boundary of architecture is becoming more and more obscure and there is a rising trend to describe architectural design as an ideological behavior of art creation.We keep thinking and expending the theory and practice of architectural programming,and devote ourselves to spreading the thoughts,based on our clinging belief that a scientifically rational design specification is the core to the public interest demands of urban and rural architecture environment contemporarily in China.Nowadays,under the instruction of human settlements science,it will be an update of architects' professional concept and responsibility to further promote the research on architectural programming theories,methods and practices,combining with the development of related fields of science such as big data,internet and fuzzy decision.The study will not only help expand the architect's core business,skills and methods,but also expand the architectural theory and methodology.

Abstract:Purpose Architectural programming, as a critical phase in construction projects, has been widely recognized for its importance and advantages throughout the construction process. With the rapid development of the socioeconomic landscape, architectural programming has garnered increasing attention from various other disciplines, becoming a key trend in interdisciplinary collaboration. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current status and future directions of architectural programming from an interdisciplinary perspective through scientometric analysis and systematic review. Design/methodology/approach This study first collected English journal articles on architectural programming published between 1975 and 2024 from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. After an initial screening of titles and abstracts, 515 articles were selected for scientometric analysis to reveal the current state and advantages of architectural programming research in multidisciplinary fields. Subsequently, a second screening of full-text articles identified 75 journal articles for systematic review, focusing on research topics and challenges in interdisciplinary applications. Findings The study reveals an exponential increase in the number of papers related to architectural programming between 1975 and 2024, particularly in the last decade. Six key research topics of architectural programming in multidisciplinary fields were identified: (1) performance optimization and evaluation, (2) digitalization and automation development, (3) project management and decision support, (4) improvement of human and social welfare, (5) sustainable resources and environment and (6) educational practices of architectural programming. Additionally, the study identified the main challenges in the interdisciplinary application of architectural programming, including (1) incompatibility among disciplines, (2) limitations of data and methodologies and (3) insufficient social engagement. To address these challenges, three potential future directions were proposed: (1) establishing interdisciplinary teams and platforms, (2) enhancing multi-source data integration and digital transformation and (3) improving governance mechanisms and educational training. Originality/value By combining quantitative and qualitative methods, this study provides a comprehensive review of architectural programming research and applications in multidisciplinary fields, offering theoretical foundations and practical references for the future development of architectural programming. This review not only aids in understanding the overall status of current architectural programming research but also offers valuable insights and recommendations for future research directions and practical applications.

Abstract:Since the new century, architectural studies have been confronting by and addressing a set of new issues-namely environmental protection, inheritance of regional culture and rapid urbanization. As the major curriculum of architectural education, architectural design is also need to respond to the above challenges. Abstract:Based on the literature review of CNKI database on rural settlements in China over the last three decades, the paper supplied a general comment on the main research contents and current situation of domestic rural settlement in China from the view of architecture as well as other related fields. On the base of the review, the paper made a conclusion on the systematization of the complicated rural settlement under different research penetrations, accompanied by an explic itassessment of the major theories and methodologies deployed in the field. Abstract:Since entering the new millennium, people have put forward higher requirements for the practicability and appreciation of architecture. This means that the traditional architecture is bound to usher in the tide of all-round reform. In order to adapt to the changes of the times, architectural design education must actively adjust, change the malpractice of only focusing on internal audit and relatively ignoring the external demand, and take meeting the market demand as the key goal of cultivating students. The author has been involved in architectural design education for many years and has a clear understanding of the current situation of the major. At the same time, he has long been concerned about the changes in the market demand of the major. On this basis, we can analyse the existing problems from the perspective of innovation, and then put forward suggestions to solve the problems combined with the changes of market demand. Finally, this paper looks forward to the future of digital architecture.
