Abstract:The paper proposes a design for the image acquisition module based on USB3.0 chip. In the hardware design, the core USB3.0 chip is chosen as FX3 provided by Cypress Company. USB3.0 interface is equipped by most computers, so USB3.0 image acquisition module can be connected to most computers very conveniently. The USB3.0 image acquisition module adopts a mobile-industry-processor-interface (MIPI) camera interface. In the hardware design, USB3.0 and USB2.0 data transmission is a key part, and the UART and JTAG port is used for debugging. In the software design, it is equipped with analysis function and tuning function for white balance, exposure, focus and noise, etc.. for end users. The USB3.0 image acquisition module is designed for flexible image sensor control and image saving. Image reproduction and verification method is also considered. The proposed design based on USB3.0 image acquisition module is verified through an actual project. According to the testing results, USB3.0 image acquisition module can receive signals from cameras with all kinds of MIPI and it can also support 20Meg camera or 1080p up to 60FPS. So it can satisfy the requirement of most camera modules.
