Abstract:Applying the bibliometric statistical method,this paper makes quantitative analysis on the papers,authors and citations in <New Century Library> from 2000 to 2005,sums up the features of the published papers and the distribution of the authors in this period in order to make known better the features of the periodical and provide some references to increase its academic level.

Abstract:Taking the statistical data of the relevant documents in the CNKI database as the foundation,this paper makes statistics on the total papers about the research of the core values of library in our country during 2002-2008,makes analysis on the state of the research from the bibliometric aspects,and summarizes the reseach sides of the core values of library,such as the conception,meaning and content.On this basis,the author put forward the point that the core values of library involved as a whole into the division of labor.

Abstract:The paper takes 21 university libraries in Zhejiang Province for affiliation samples, statistically analyses published pa-pers of affiliations in 2003-2013. It uses h-index to evaluate affiliations’ published paper and analyses h-index correlative factors. The results show that h-index can evaluate affiliations’ scientific research output and impact more rationally than traditional single metric index;h-index is most highly correlated with total cited frequency of papers, followed by number of cited papers and average cited fre-quency, lowest with number of papers.

Abstract:With the data offered by Chinese Social Science Citation Index,from the view of our educational periodicals' quantity,the quantity of published articles and citation,analysis and introduction have been made on the general situation of our Chinese educational periodicals and the published paper during 2000-2004.It shows that although the quantity of educational periodicals and the articles published in China are more while the quantity of language varieties and type of quotations are less.Through the citation statistics of the included articles from the published articles in the periodicals by Chinese Social Science citation Index,from the view of absolute quoted quantity and relative quoted quantity as well as influential range,analysis and evaluation have been made on the influence of our Chinese educational periodicals during 2000-2004.

Abstract:The library is one of the most important factors that affect the quality of teaching in universities, and it plays an important role in improving college students'comprehensive quality,especially the ability of self-learning and innovation.To understand the differences and the influence factors in the use of library of some different kinds of universities,the Educational Statistics and Management Branch of Chinese Association for Ap-plied Statistics organized a multi -center survey on college students'classroom learning state in late 2010. Quantitative methods are applied to discuss the factors and the influences.The results show that there are com-mon factors among all the universities,and course plan and academic ability are the most important factors. Meanwhile,there are some unique factors,such as political status,monthly expenses,etc.Finally,universities can take certain measures according to the results to guide the students to make the best use of the libraries.

Abstract:Purpose - The statistical method plays an extremely important role in quantitative research studies in library and information science (LIS). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the status of statistical methods used in the field, their application areas and the temporal change patterns during a recent 15-year period. Design/methodology/approach - The research papers in six major scholarly journals from 1999 to 2013 in LIS were examined. Factors including statistical methods, application areas and time period were analyzed using quantitative research methods including content analysis and temporal analysis methods. Findings - The research studies using statistical methods in LIS have increased steadily. Statistical methods were more frequently used to solve problems in the information retrieval area than in other areas, and inferential statistical methods were used more often than predictive statistical methods and other statistical methods. Anomaly analysis on statistical method uses was conducted and four types of anomaly were specified. Originality/value - The findings of this study can help educators, graduates and researchers in the field of LIS better understand the patterns and trends of the applications of statistical methods in this field, depict an overall picture of quantitative research studies in LIS from the perspective of statistical methods and discover the change patterns of statistical method applications in LIS between 1999 and 2013.
Analysis on progress of citations of literatures of nursing staff from quotations of five nursing periodicals from year 2003 to 2006

Abstract:Objective:To know about the status quo of nursing staff’s literatures citation in China.Methods:The quantity,type and language of literatures citation of articles published in "Chinese Journal of Nursing","Nursing Research","Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing","Journal of Advanced Study of Nurses","Nursing Journal" from year of 2003 to 2006 were statistically analyzed.Both Pulaisi indexes and half-life were calculated.Results:The quantity,average quotation quantity,quotation rate of theses with citations published in above-mentioned five periodicals increased year by year.The major quotation language was Chinese,accounted to 79.77%(among which,nursing thesis 52.48%,medical thesis 45.63%,other 1.89%).Foreign language quotations accounted to 20.23%.The peak time of periodicals quotation was three to four years recently.The peak time of books quotations was four to six years recently.Pulaisi indexes were 58.40%,57.71%,59.96% and 60.14% respectively.And the average Pulaisi index was 59.40%.Conclusion:The ability of nursing staff citing literatures has enhanced remarkably than before.And the citing rate of recent literatures of above five periodicals is higher.However,the ability of gaining literatures from abroad of nurses needs to be enhanced.

Abstract:The report of Chinese literature periodical influence based on CSSCI is a digital description of source items,citations and periodical influence from 2000 to 2004.It shows that progress was still made in the research of Chinese literature,but the influence of Chinese literature periodicals became not as great as before.The report mainly discusses the influence of Chinese literature periodicals based on a quantitative analysis of cited times,cited journals,citation index and half-life.

Abstract:Using the data collected from CSSCI (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index), this quantitative analysis tries to evaluate the general situation of ethnic and anthropological studies in China in 2005 and 2006. The analysis includes examining citation of papers in this field, the relations between funding and the academic papers, and the academic influence of ethnic and anthropological journals. The CSSCI-based analysis shows the progress of ethnic and anthropological studies in China in several perspectives, such as the extension of research view of Chinese scholars and their attention to the achievement of foreign colleagues.
