Abstract:A control system based on WIN-TDC for Static Var Compensator(SVC) is proposed.SIMAT IC-TDC has been specially designed for real-time and float arithmetic operation,which meets the needs of industrial Static Var Com-pensator(SVC) control system.WINCC is a relieable and mature kind of Human Mechine Interface(HMI) software.The control sys-tem based on WIN-TDC meets the industrial SVC's needs of performance and reliability.In addition,an instan-taneous power and current detection method based on instantaneous reactive power theory for SVC is realized in this con-trol system,so does a kind of open + close loop control strategy.The proposed control system has been applied to some SVC projects successfully.

Abstract:Power grid dispatching automation system in future should follow the integrity nature of provincial level power grid. Since we consider provincial power grid as an organic whole, the real physical power grid should be described with a unified model, and its operation should be supported by a unified system. A unified system is not the one simply putting all the servers together, but the one with all infrastructures physically distributed. Nonetheless, dispatching decision applications should be centralized. That is to say, grid perception and real-time control are distributed physically, while analysis and decision are integrated logically. This paper proposed a design of distributed supervisory and control system with a unified model for its provincial and regional subsystems. It is expected that this architecture could provide a reference for others on the research, development and construction of power grid dispatching automation system.

Abstract:This paper proposes the construction mode of a two-level distributed alarming system, in which alarms are coordinately processed by substations and control center. In substation side, we classify alarms into several grades according to the degree of their importance and send the extracted key alarms to control center, thus reduce the amount of alarm passing and ensure the transmission reliability and speed; meanwhile, we carry out alarm verification and pretreatment through information redundancy to validate alarm correctness. In control center side, we integrate the data of ordinary Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and the alarms received directly from substations, and carry out comprehensive fault reasoning and correctness verification. In order to illustrate the feasibility of the substation-control center distributed alarming system, the overall structure, substation smart alarm (SSA), control center smart alarm (CCSA) and cooked data transmission of this construction mode will be discussed in detail.

Abstract:This paper discusses the realization of integrated automation of low voltage substation. In view of these substation's characteristics of multi-load circuits, multi-switch types, complex features and high fault rate, the paper proposes a more reasonable scheme of constructing distributed, multi-layers and multi-microprocessors system. Especially due to the application of effectively combined and modularized local bus, all slave computer systems can be arbitrarily constructed according to substation scale and custom requirement, which ensures the rate of application to deployment near to 1. The proposed scheme is especially suitable to the cases of integrated automation of low voltage substation.

Abstract:With the development of smart grid,Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) will be increasingly used in substation protection,control and measurement.A kind of substation communication software for variety of IEDs is designed and implemented.This paper focuses on the overall flow of the system,function library,multithreading architecture,and the design of database.This software utilizes the Modbus TCP/IP which is an openly published,efficient,and widely used communication protocol in the industrial automation field.In order to make the system have a strong scalability,this paper also describes the implementation guide of Modbus based on IPv6.Finally,the performance of the library and the real time capability of the overall system are tested respectively,indicating that this software meets the requirements of being efficient and stable,reliable in the communication of substation.

Abstract:The development of smart grid has posed a challenge to the traditional centralized dispatch mode.The basic contradiction between distributed autonomy and centralized coordination is reexamined,and an architecture of smart substation advanced application software system is proposed, including such advanced applications as modeling, state estimation, intelligent alarming,voltage stability assessment and control,automatic voltage control,risk assessment modeling,etc.This facilitates a change from centralized dispatch and control mode to a more reliable,agile substation-control center two-level distributed smart dispatch and control mode.The features,functions and realization of the proposed advanced application software are described,some field engineering application cases demonstrated,and certain practical aspects of implementation discussed.Finally,the prospect for future development of the smart substation advanced application software is displayed.

Abstract:A two-stage supervisory control system is designed based on Siemens PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) according to the control requirement of ice-storage central air conditioning in this paper.The fieldwork station is composed of a PLC and a touching screen,which acts as a local platform of SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition);the managing-work station is made up of an industry computer and a printer,serving as a main HMI(Human Machine Interface) which can print data and control the fieldwork station remotely in addition to all functions of the field work station.Results show that the designed supervisory control system can monitor and control the states of ice-storage central air conditioning timely and increase the cooling capacity and cooling efficiency effectively.

Abstract:A compatible management system is designed according to the situation that digital substation is replacing conventional substation.This system bases on Linux operating system and Gtk library,has friendly user interface,is compatible for management of conventional substation and digital substation,and is able to duplicate configuration information and load configuration information at any time so that facilitate the management of transformer substation.The outstanding compatibility makes this management system adapt to the current situation that conventional substation and digital substation are coexisting.

Abstract:A drop-intelligent-control system is designed.The system combines the controllability and high precision of the step-machinery and high sensitivity of 3DU,the infrared ray radiating-receiving detective sensor,and realizes the function of the single main station monitoring the multi-substations.If needed,it can expand the number of the sub-stations through MAX485.The liquid dropping speed,controlled by the key board of the monitoring system,can alarm automatically.It can communicate efficiently between the main station and substations.

Abstract:Based on the development environment of virtual instrument language, this paper completes supervision software for programmable power supply. The software enables the supervision system to control the output of the programmable power through GPIB and SCPI command. This paper discusses the total design idea of the supervision software, the method of program and the flow of power control. With the advantages of modularization design and friendly UGI, the software could be conveniently transplanted to other testing systems for output control, signal monitoring, the parameter setting of programmable power supply.

Abstract:Abstract Digital instrumentation and control (I&C) systems are widely used in many industrial areas. In the recent years, the digitalization process for nuclear power plants has also been moving on rapidly. Full digitalized I&C systems are now adopted in almost all new constructed nuclear power plants. Moreover, for the advanced small modular reactors, both the high reliability and extendibility of I&C systems are especially required. The original architecture, which usually consists of centralized control cabinets and severs, of I&C systems cannot adequately provide the required extendibility. A novel hardware architecture of distributed control system aiming to enhance the reliability and extensibility was proposed and presented in the 26th International Conference on Nuclear Engineering (ICONE26). In this paper, we further focus on the considerations about the software design of this novel decentralized architecture. The hardware entities and their characters related to the software design are first introduced. Then the key considerations, including the design objective and software framework are described. Moreover, the related algorithms regarding the coordinate node selection and task assignment are proposed and demonstrated. At last the analysis about the software for the decentralized architecture are provided. The previously proposed decentralized architecture becomes feasible based on the software design introduced in this paper.

Abstract:An intelligent computer aided engineering (CAE) control design software and hardware package for power system control has been developed in this project. This package encompasses advanced control technologies, software technologies and hardware technologies. It allows the whole design process to be cycled easily and efficiently, thus considerably speeding up the control system design and prototyping. The main objectives of the project consist of: (l) modeling of STATCOM (static compensator) in power system; (2) development of computer aided engineering platform; (3) design and development of digital signal processor (DSP) based controller; and (4) development and application of advanced control techniques for STATCOM. Three types of controller, namely PI-auto-tuning, fuzzy logic control (FLC) and iterative learning control (ILC) are incorporated in the platform. For the real-time control, a DSP-based hardware controller is designed and implemented. Field-site experiments were carried out on a 10 kVAr STATCOM to show the performance of the controller and results are satisfactory

Abstract:The operation control of smart distribution network is facing enormous challenge. Focusing on improving the dynamic characteristics of smart distribution network, a novel supplementary controller for optimizing dynamic characteristics of smart distribution network is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is based on the hierarchical distribution control network and PMU data. In this paper, the principle and the operating mechanism of the proposed method are introduced. The software tool PSCAD is used to simulate a case system under different disturbance scenarios. The simulation results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method on improving dynamic characteristics of smart distribution network.
