EFFECT OF SURFACE MODIFICATION OF PBO FIBER ON PROPERTY OF EP/PBO FIBER COMPOSITE

Abstract:Self-made treatment agent was used to deal with PBO fiber surface and PBO fibers reinforced epoxy composites were prepared.The morphology of PBO fibers was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The surface properties and surface composition of the fibers were ditremined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and FTIR.The results showed that the hydrophilicity of PBO fibers was improved after being treated by treatment agent C,the contents of C,O,N elements were increased and the shear strength increased from 15~18 MPa reported to 28.3MPa,which was increased approx 59%.
