Anti-Americanism in the Middle East: US Countermeasures and Its Evaluation

Abstract:The anti- American mood in the Middle East has been fairly strong for years. The most important factor is the U.S. Middle East policy. After the “9·11", the United States misreads the anti-American Doctrine of the Middle East as Terrorism, and thinks the autocracy is the germ of terrorism. In fact, the United States denies the anti-American doctrine of the Middle East is the soil of terrorism. So, The Bush administration contends that the push for democracy in the Muslim world will improve U.S. security. But this is unlikely to have much effect on anti-American terrorism emanating from there. Hence, in the short run, such a policy could not bring an ideal fruit.
