Abstract:Based on statistic data of quotations from CSSCI(2000—2007) of 192 the most influential works on religious studies,the author made a statistic analysis.It is concluded that the most frequently quoted from foreign religious papers are mainly such aspects as religious theories,religious nature and religion development.Up to now,foreign works have not had big impact on religious studies at home.Religious studies at home have achieved great progress since 1980s.Though we have achieved a lot in basic theory,the most influential works on religious studies at home are mainly focusing on Buddhism studies.

Abstract:Academic journals,by which academic influence of a country is indicated,provide important sources for research.The number of papers collected by the three US science citation databases(SCI,SSCI,AHCI) is an important index of a discipline's international academic influence.An analysis of academic papers indexed by the three science citation databases over the last three decades in our country reveals that great gaps exist in the number of papers indexed by each database,which embodies great imbalance in the development and international academic influence of the three subjects,of which natural science developed at a high speed,social science developed rapidly,and art and humanities developed slowly.In order to enhance the international academic influence of our country,policies should be stipulated to balance the development of different subjects.The way to classify subjects should be reformed: the philosophical social science should be divided into two subjects——social science and art humanities.Correct methods should be used in evaluating different subjects and measures should be taken to assist academic journals in entering international citation databases and thereby promote the internationalization.

Abstract:Using the data collected from CSSCI (Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index), this quantitative analysis tries to evaluate the general situation of ethnic and anthropological studies in China in 2005 and 2006. The analysis includes examining citation of papers in this field, the relations between funding and the academic papers, and the academic influence of ethnic and anthropological journals. The CSSCI-based analysis shows the progress of ethnic and anthropological studies in China in several perspectives, such as the extension of research view of Chinese scholars and their attention to the achievement of foreign colleagues.

Abstract:Taking highly cited papers in Journal of Southwest Forestry University from 2002 to 2006 as study objects,statistical analysis done with indicators such as author groups shows: internal papers account for a higher percentage of total of five years,but the proportions of every year's took on a decline as time flowed.The proportion of papers supported by national grade fund had increased yearly.The region distribution of the authors has got further expanded,who still mostly have backgrounds of university.Co-author accounts for 86.7% in average.From the perspective of subject distribution,forestry basic subjects,horticulture and biology etc.possess high ratios.

Abstract:The paper takes 1391 articles included in SSCI and A&HCI databases in the field of humanities and social science in Shaanxi province as research object, analyzes them from angles of annual article amount, high-yielding authors, regions and institu-tions, source journals. It finds that humanities and social science study in Shaanxi province is in the stage of rapid development; high-yielding authors represented by Miao Danmin of The Fourth Military Medical University have actively participated in process of human-ities and social science study internationalization;institutions such as Xi'an Jiaotong University and The Fourth Military Medical Uni-versity have formed good cooperative relations with famous institutions at home and abroad, but amount and scope of cooperation re-main to be further improved.

Abstract:Purpose - This paper is written as an attempt to employ the Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) in the evaluation of Chinese humanities and social science research.Design/methodology/approach - This paper uses statistics in the CSSCI (2000-2004) to analyze the academic impact of researchers, papers and works, institutions and regions on Chinese humanities and social science research.Findings - The authors identify 100 highly cited people, 50 highly cited papers, 50 highly cited works, 20 highly productive institutions and 20 highly cited institutions. Also provided is some regional information about Chinese humanities and social science research.Originality/value - It is hoped that the CSSCI, as well as the analysis and evaluation based on it, will give researchers a better understanding of Chinese humanities and social science research.

Abstract:In this article the documental information of the scholars in the field of sports science was researched with the method of biblimetrics to evaluate their academic influence.20 scholars leading in the six indexes,that is the published paper amount,the times cited,the average citation rate,the h-index,the high times cited and number of works cited were searched on the CNKI in order to evaluate their academic influence.By statistical analysis the first six scholars were chosen as those of great academic influence in this field.
